Hey I think AmeMano is a pretty good ship. Like Spamano. Yeah like America is usually in his own little world and he usually excuses Romano’s bad habits like sleeping in too much and actually gets his lazy self to do some manual work. I don’t know I think those two are perfect for him.
And it's canon that Romano prefers to live with Alfred rather than Feliciano. He went to live with Alfred for the sake of being better than Feliciano, and when Alfred told him it was okay for him to leave his house, Romano refused and stayed anyway despite the work he had to do.

In other words, Romano is the allied Italy- the resistance that fought against fascism in his country. (Which makes sense, since most of the resistance WAS in Southern Italy-) And yes, Feliciano represents fascist Italy, which is why he admires Germany so much in comparison to Romano.
Canonically both Germans don't support N4zism, they only follow orders bc they have to. Historically, H!tler actually looked up to Fredrick the Great, the greatest Prussian military ruler they had, so if it was about the ideologies, Romano would hate both Germans.
