Your right about service charges automatically added to the bill I always have them removed, and leave a tip if I see fit. This Americanisation of our service industry drives me mad , just pay your staff enough, and if that means more expensive meals so be it. No more stealth charging takes the edge off the dining experience as they think we are mugs.

How can you be a "spice wuss" and then when you order your food you ask them to "spice it up a bit"? You can't be more contradictory if you tried. That makes no sense at all.

In Perth, that would have to be the 4970 miles from Delhi, restaurant. No Alcohol Beer is like vegetarian food, it's always named after and made to look like meat, i.e. chickenless chicken. I can tell you right now, chicken fillet is for the UK market, don't expect that in Perth. Indian food in Australia is authentic. I often have Chicken Rogan Josh with Keema Naan and Pilau Rice, my son's wife is Indian too. I have never in 20 years had chicken like that from an Indian restaurant.

I underestimated you Lee. Assumed you'd have gone for the onion bhaji and chicken tikka masalla as usual but fair play for trying something different.
Looking at the menu it doesn't look like your average Indian restaurant selection, I'd be trying quite a lot of the chefs selections (couldn't decide when looking through the menu). (I'd have a keema rice though)

Since the mains are well spiced, I would go for just plain basmati (rice) as a contrast, less salt, and to cool things off a bit. You ordered enough food for four. Why didn't you invite me? I would have paid my share. Did you choose the music based upon the time of day? Indian music is formed around ragas that are related to time of day.

Looked fab food but after just coming back from a curry weekend in Bradford - the quantity of meat in remains was a bit on the skimpy side. The actual food however looked amazing - we were drooling at those bhajis. It was essentially a meal for 2 - I would have expected something in the £50-£60 price range inc service charge so that would put me off. Loved watching it tho and kudos for that big mouthful of lime pickle 👍

I defeated my local Indian Takeaway - kept ordering a chicken Phaal, and asked them to make it hotter every time! In the end, they said they’d got nothing left to put in it to make it hotter. Some time later, I went in there and ordered a chicken Phaal. They sussed it was me who ordered some Phaals as takeaways - all the waiting staff and kitchen staff came and shook my hand, saying that there was no way they could eat anything that hot!

I know you have been to Huddersfield a couple of times but you have to go to the chilli lounge. near the railway station. The onion bhajis are unlike anything you have had before. They are to die for. The food, service and price can't be improved. My friend had Indian guests over through work and took them there on the first night. Without her knowing they went back every night for the week and ordered everything off the menu. ps it doesn't open till 6pm though.

Lee it's nice if you get a variety of poppadoms. Also never mix the pickle tray items. Usually start off with the mango chutney followed by the lime pickle followed by the mint sauce to cool it down.

I have actually been to an Indian restaurant in Delhi and yes i did get Delhi belly. Been all over indian and not had it anywhere else.....apart from Kerela and that was bad and lasted 4 days and ruined the holiday. Anyway, why can't you have an alcohol beer or two just because you're driving as only Scotland has zero tolerance. However, what really puts me off is hidden taxes such as service charges.
