Hello Chef! Please ignore anybody that tells you that your videos are too long. There are so many chefs, cooks, and hobbyists on RUclips to watch. We (I am) here because I chose to follow you, just the way you are. I appreciate you slowing down and explaining things. This is something that a lot of other channels don't offer. It's ok to be different and go against the grain (just like a good steak. -see, you taught us that) No need to feel rushed or that your videos are too long. WE. LOVE. THEM!!!

Who ever is saying that Chef Jean's videos are too long, are not interested in learning how to cook. They are only interested in criticizing his videos.
I like how Chef explained things in details/ step by step rather than a cooking channel where the Chef only shows the finish product of his videos without explanation how it was cooked.

I’ve loved cooking for over 30 years. Honest to God, this channel has improved my cooking skills more in the last 3 years than everything else combined for the previous 30. It’s not the recipes- which are great! It’s the TECHNIQUES and the philosophy and as chef says, the WHY behind them! Anyone can read a recipe and try it. It’s Chef’s explanation of the principles behind them that are applied to numerous other situations which is so important.
I hope you continue this channel forever! Thank you for everything.

For the past two years I have cooked every holiday dinner for my now 89 year old father in law. Every entree, side and desert (and eggnog) recipe was yours Chef. 15 invited guests and sometimes a walk-in and never help with sides or washing dishes. Everyone raves but no one helps. I will bite my tongue (even though it's the conductor of flavor) and keep on serving up your dishes Chef as long as my "Pop" wants. Thank you, Chef for making him happy at holiday dinners after Mom-Mom's passing.

This was the best idea Chef did by adding commentary to his existing videos.
You said it yourself, you are now relaxed and can explain certain things and/or "fix" a mistake ( but not really mistakes).
Please Chef, do more of these! Talk him into it Jack.

This is a wonderful channel by a wonderful Chef with a fantastic behind the scenes team. I listened to some of this video on my drive to work, then again driving home tonight and again watching more after supper. I can't believe how generous Chef Jean-Pierre is with sharing his knowledge and expertise with us. I watch at least a few of Chef's videos every day now, learning so much. Jean-Pierre, you are a beautiful person and a natural teacher - so engaging and hold the audience attention so very well - I can (and do) listen to you quite happily for hours. It's been a very tough time for me these past weeks but I'm so much happier and laughing watching your cooking classes and entertaining commentary. Thank you so much 🙏🏻

The "why" is so important. I'm constantly in awe of how much I know about cooking, and it's because I now know why I cook certain ingredients in a certain way. I can recreate a dish now just from tasting it, no recipe! You're the best, chef!

I've been cooking for 50 years - Your channel has filled in many of the blanks I couldn't learn on my own. It has confirmed many of the things I've experienced, but were contrary to what was on TV or RUclips. Since watching your channel, I have developed my own recipes; taking the "why's" something works and combining them with different ingredients. Happy Thanksgiving Chef.

My brother passed away about a month ago. A week before he passed, he said what a great cook I was, and he wasn't bad himself. I do love to cook great meals. But Jean-Pierre, your love for cooking not only shows in all your other videos, but this one can leave no doubt, with the fact that you sat in-front of your stove for OVER 3 hours, not only reacting too, but also still being entertaining while still adding to the technics as well as adding knowledge to the reviewed ones in this particular video, that love clearly comes through.

Can confirm two recipes are must makes - Gravy, Green Beans & Cranberry Sauce - I usually cook for 35+ people when my family puts on Thanksgiving. They loved it. This year, since my wife's family is cooking, I'm taking the cranberry sauce (my Mother In Law loved the test batch I made last year)
Bottom line, make all of this. I made the gravy/sauce on Tuesday, all were a crowd pleasure.

A 3+ hr video of Chef Jean-Pierre? Did I die & go to the great kitchen in the sky? This is a wish come true for me!
I prefer long videos. The longer the video the more I learn. Also with the longer video you, Chef, won't feel rushed to get things done. To all those who want short videos, guess what, Good Food Takes TIME!
I enjoyed this video so much I watched it 3 times.
Don't worry about repeating yourself. Repetition builds memory. You give us the "Why"! If I could have made my Mother understand the importance of actually answering the "why," it would have been easier for her to teach me.
You have taught me more with answering the "why" than she ever did with the "because I said so."
I got such a kick out of you critiquing your own videos. You not only validated your skill, but your honesty & love of cooking. Bless your parents for having you. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. And yes, I remember watching you on T.V. sitting next to my Mom (may she rest in peace) on the couch & asking her, "Why?" as we watched.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, your Mrs., Jack, The whole Chef JP Team, & to everyone who took the time to watch, like, & subscribe!

The people that say you talk too much are the people that watch short videos with no talking ,no intention of making the food but always comment “looks yummy” , video is always filmed from above, always with stupid loud chirpy music, no ingredients list or shows it so quick you have to watch five times. They’re not real chefs just people who can add cheese on noodles 😊

Little did I know it was the incorrect. I also was told "this is the way you do it." So, everything you teach here is not only "how" but "why' and we really appreciate that. I have now learned how and why to do things the proper way and to make not just ok meals but amazing meals by following your channel. You're an amazing man, great teacher and a fabulous chef! We look forward until the next time you do a video like this one.
Would love to see the lemonchello cheese cake recipe.
    Thanks again

I love that you explain why you do things because as a young chef it means that I'm always learning something even if i don't fancy the recipe as a whole. It also means I can apply these techniques and processes in my own recipes and become my own skilled chef as oppose to just a replica of someone else. You are special because you don't just teach recipes but you teach how to be a better cook as a whole. I watch every video without fail and take in as much as possible even if I hate half the ingredients and would never eat it just because I know there will be something golden to learn somewhere.

I enjoy watching your videos, regardless of whether or not I can eat them (allergies), I enjoy the lessons and techniques that are explained.

For anyone who might be skeptical…this will be my third year making Chef’s Sage and Orange Butter turkey; traditional gravy and cranberry sauce. They are fabulous and my family looks forward to them every year. Our family tradition ( 53 years) includes a lighter cornbread dressing, squash casserole and some form of green bean dish and mashed potatoes and light fluffy dinner rolls. Happy Thanksgiving Chef!

Thank you Chef Jean-Pierre for sharing all of your knowledge and experience with us! I watched the whole video and will probably watch it again and again. I can't wait to try the recipes. It was fun watching you watching and critiquing yourself! I always enjoy watching you cook. You have "amazing" recipes, a great sense of humor, and truly a gift for teaching others! America is blessed to have such a patriot as yourself when so many people these days do not appreciate the great country in which we live! Jack and the crew do a great job of creating and editing the videos. May God Bless You and your family, and God Bless America!!

Thanks Chef! I think this was your best video yet. I really liked the format. With making the gravy ahead, making the cheesecake and sauce ahead, prepping the beans ahead, prepping the bacon wrapped turkey ahead, mixing the dressing ahead, the Thanksgiving dinner is going to be amazing this year. Thanks again.
After holiday feedback. Made the gravy, the dressing, the bacon wrapped turkey breast, the mashed potatoes, the butternut squash soup, the cranberry sauce, the green beans. Added the Brussels sprouts. Skipped the cheesecake - a guest was bringing dessert. Dinner was wonderful!
Company potluck is coming up - I am bringing the bacon wrapped turkey. I am going to roast it on a rack so the bacon on the bottom gets a little more browned.
Thanks again for your wonderful lessons and recipes.
