The greatest version of this great gospel classic. John’s voice is so powerful and he sings with such passion and emotion. He’s the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time.
The love and pride in Venetta’s face when John does his verse slays me every damn time. The care and honour he takes for his ensemble members, especially his beloved BVA’s, is such a testament to the man John is. That combined with this level of truly astounding talent is a true gift to the world.
Stunning performance! Thanks for the reaction. John singing Gethsemane will blow your mind, arguably the best if not one of the best vocal performances of his career.
@@jennifersmusicpage Yes I agree with Dr_Kap suggesting Gethsemane ...I'd suggest you do the 'live' performance from the last performance of Jesus Chris Superstar ... it's a total moving performance from John.
John Farnham is one of the greatest singers of all time. Then add Vanetta Fields into the mix. Vanetta Fields is by far THE BEST BACK UP SINGER IN THE WORLD. PERIOD. BAR NONE. She is THAT GOOD. To hear her singing solo is magical. Truly astonishing. Like looking down at your feet and discovering a BIG diamond there. Jennifer, I LOVE your smile.
Beautiful performance. Venetta had a great career as a back up singer for some of the world's greats like Ike and Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Alice Cooper Leonard Cohen, Pink Floyd, Barbara Streisand, Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, Neil Diamond before moving to Australia where she toured mostly as back up for John Farnham from 1987 until she retired, but also backup vocals on other Aussie greats albums like Richard Clapton, Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel, James Morrison and Australian Crawl. Lindsay Field mostly known as a member of the John Farnham Band. He also released a couple of albums of his own. He also works as a vocal coach, musical director and exec producer as well as a voice over artist. I don't think either have you tube channels.
@@785boats I am, when it comes to Farnsey and his band members. I have been following him since he first released Sadie in 1967. If they ever had a quiz night on John. Farnham I would win 🤣🤣🤣
I’m always impressed how John never feels the need to be the centre of attention, he lets his backing singers shine, and always acknowledges soloists. No point going through their history that’s been covered but may I suggest you now listen to John and his band covering Led Zepplins “Black Dog” you’ll hear these 2 in that as well, can’t miss hearing Vanetta in the “o’s” It goes to show the depth of their skills across multiple genres. I don’t believe it was ever performed much in concert but was apparently a favourite for warmups / soundchecks which is where this recording was made. ruclips.net/video/F2Yi6TVi-sU/видео.html
A beautiful honest reaction, thank you. We we really are blessed with John, Venetta and Lindsay and so many other wonderful singers and musicians here in Australia, that the rest of the world has never heard or just discovering 💞
Thanks for doing my request. I could see by the look on your face that you loved it. Before you said a word. Thanks. I agree with DrKap (as usual) that Gethsemane is a must.
Ahh thanks for requesting this Brian! Good one! Yes I do believe Gethsemane should be next on the list, it’s a true showcase of what he’s capable of vocally.
Have you heard John doing opera, he was in Jesus Christ Superstar, playing J C himself. The cast did a spot on our show, "Hey, Hey, It's Saturday." The whole show was recorded on the sunday night, and John singing Gethsemane is on you-tube. Then on a concert called "The Main Event," with Anthony Warlow and Olivia Newton-John, they did, Elevate Us, Granada, and Please don't ask me among other songs.
Venetta Field , famous backup singer to a lot of American singers, Areatha Franklin, Tina Turner and also the Black Berries with Steve Mariot and Humble Pie.
You would get a kick out of John’s rendition of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar Rock Opera - it’s pretty spectacular. I feel you’d love other Australian talents, Katie Noonan, also Linda and Vika Bull all very talented. Tom Jones singing “I’ll never fall in love again” is pretty spectacular, so is Disturbed’s cover of “Sound of silence” performed live on Conan - the lead singer had the flu, not that you’d notice. All unbelievable performers 🙏👏👏🎶🎶
I have been suggesting this to a number of reactors, but it wasn't me in this case. I believe it was Brian Gill - well done Brian! The lady is Venetta Fields and the man is Lindsay Field. Venetta and Lindsay are long time backing singers for John. You will see them along with Lisa Edwards in Farnsey's concert videos. This is an example of his total respect for his fellow performers where he puts them up front in the spot light. He did the same with Lisa Edwards when recording and performing "Angels" (one of my favorites!). In this performance (ruclips.net/video/5_2NJRIdBO8/видео.html) you see a lot of Farnsey's character where he is acting the clown before delivering a beautiful performance. I agree with Dr_Kap about Gethsemane. And somewhere in between is "Granada" (ruclips.net/video/K6uxFKmCXB8/видео.html) with Anthony Warlow who played the Phantom in Australia. That has a touch of opera, comedy and outstanding singing (in my opinion at least!) 😋
@@jennifersmusicpage Anthony Warlow, who does a fun duo singing, 'Granada' with John Farnham, is also another brilliant Australian talent. Try making them transparent - that seems to work for some reactors... 👍
The greatest version of this great gospel classic. John’s voice is so powerful and he sings with such passion and emotion. He’s the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time.
Venetta Fields and Lindsay Field both long time backup singers for John. Venetta started in the Ikettes with Ike and Tina Turner!
And Vanetta was a backup singer on Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” album.

the lady is Venetta Fields
Beautiful voices. Venetta and Lindsay are John's back up singers, but performers in their own right.
