    Very informative video! Makes me even more curious about the approach NIO will take for the Firefly brand, I'm guessing it will be fully separate swap stations where they will further collab with CATL & others. We'll see soon!
    Also it appears that Tomorrow will be NIO Power Up day!

  • @ohasli38

    I think the idea is good because to have separate battery stations because NIO is a premium EV and offers many benefits if ONVO and firefly captures the market as expected and uses the same battery swapping stations like NIO then this will increase the waiting time to swap the battery and contra productive for NIO owners as well as the different batteries to be stored.

      So what you say is Nio should invest in EVEN MORE to battery swap stations for onvo? Then good luck waiting for the profitability

    Old news, we knew forever that onvo has slimmer batteries which is why they will only be compatible with gen 4 swap stations. Hopefully nio et5 and et5t will also switch to this slimmer battery

    You getting BAAS mixed up with swapping. When users buy cars with BAAS , Nio sells the battery to the battery asset management. Batteries in swap stations are owned by Nio. They pay for all batteries in swap stations.

    I think the main difference is that the current NIO packs are a design from 2018. The ONVO packs are the new 3.0 packs. The main question is if the new ONVO packs will fit the next gen NIOs like ET9😊

    Feature not bug. It allows nio to have an excuse when they need to bump onvo users back in line to accommodate a nio swapper

      Will have to see what the firefly actually is going to be, probably it’s just a small grocery getter, the type of car used in city’s because of the small dimensions and short distance driving, and mostly is a car you don’t use for heavy highway driving. So in this case it would make sense to make smaller swap stations in cities where these cars will be mainly driven and less so where Nio stations are already deployed. You see this everywhere around the world, people from the city buy different cars then people who live downtown, because their usage is so different.

    To be able to charge any battery, the Voltage of the Power Supply Side has to be slightly higher than the Voltage of the battery side, and since the two batteries have different voltage (400V and 900V), the battery swap has to deliver two different voltages.

    It’s not a good idea to have different types of batteries. They needed to setup a standard for all car producers and now they need to split batteries for nio and for onvo is very sad to hear this…

    What an IN EFFICIANTE way of doing things. Are they going to make a separate battery swap station for every sub brand? As if they have enough money, to even entertain that idea. I think that just sucks. Stupid idea.

  • @funnywilliesue
    @funnywilliesue 24 дня назад

    Good observation, that means ONVO will not share NIO battery swap stations, and they need more money to deploy more swapping stations, hope those swap stations could be shared with fireflys. There are is another concerns, how many battery packs can be hosted in each swap stations. based on current size and charging time, 23 packs is the limit.
