    Oooooh …. I must try this technique! Just need to muster some patience and zen … (I can see my swear box getting richer)!!!! When you discovered the dropped stitch on the finishing off I must admit my heart skipped a beat!! As the lovely Bob Ross used to call errors “a happy, little accident “!! You’re a great teacher! Have a great day 😊 from Winnie ❤

    I was so upset when I made my first brim hat on my Sentro. I proudly gave it to my adult daughter and she said "it is so tight"! She droped the brim and it was better. I have been racking my brain as to HOW I can make these hats so that it will be more comfortable for an adult. So glad I found your video....I will try this and see if it will be my winner! ♥

I also learned from you how to put it back on the machine cause I miss counted and it was not full count. I finally got that though but needed to do the brim. I recounted and all is good there so I'm going to guess CaronSS and Addi46 makes a big difference. Going to add 20more rows total on second attempt but not today 😂 that took all day to get thru. Wheww😅

      It is really snug but the ribbing makes it work but the length was way too short didn't even cover ears. If I had a thicker yarn like yours the 110 would work but this SS is so thin, 120 Im going to try.

    Love this new stitch. Have a question when you gave pattern you said the brim and and the inside of the hat should add up together to be the same amount as the outside of the hat, but that’s not so on the small because it adds up to be 55 and 45 so I’m wondering how is that even compared to the adult? I hope that makes sense, this is a beautiful pattern. I just love it.

      @@dawnclements7021 I just rewatched my video. It does not add up to 55.
      The 10 rows of ribbing are part of the first half of the hat. We are ribbing back on rows we have already knit.
      Knit 45 then rib back 10 rows. As you are doing the ribbing you are also knitting another row as you go around. That is why I then said knit 44. Then they are equal.
      Please comment when you have read this because I will delete the comments. I don’t post row counts. Hope this helps. 😊

    Shelly I have a question trying the ribbed beanie on the child’s you said knit 45 then rib 10 rows then knit 44 That comes to 100 including the row you knit when doing the ribbing. The adults you said knit 50 then rib 15 then knit 35 rows including the row for ribbing. Should the child’s be knit 45 rib 10 then knit 35 including row for rubbing

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  Год назад

      Knit 45 then rib 10 is still 45 rows because you are ribbing rows 35-45 that you previously knit. As you go around and rib you are knitting one row as well. That is why you need 44 more to = 45.
      45+45 = 90.
      I said it differently for the adult because I was showing the finished beanie.
      Another way of saying it is knit 65 then rib 15. (You would be ribbing rows 50-65 of the previous 65 knit rows. Then knit 35.
      Hope this helps. Let me know if it does then I will remove the comments cause I prefer not to have row counts posted. Great question!!

    Love the ribbing. But it didn't make the hat any bigger. Yes it's stretchier, but if i use the same yarn and tension, and compare the ribbed Vs non-ribbed, the ribbed starts out smaller and stretch to be the same as the non-ribbed. So it is stretchier but not any bigger feeling on the head. Are you doing any thing else different?

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  Год назад

      I’m only doing what you see in the video and it is definitely stretchier than a basic brimmed. Maybe your tension is a lot tighter than mine.
      Everyone whose posted it in my group has agreed that it is wider. Sorry it didn’t work for you.
