Awesome after watching many uTubes on replacing the Evap canister (charcoal) etc, I brought my truck to the local mechanic fearing the worst. He took his compressor hose like you did, put it down into the filler tube, covering the rest of the opening with a rag, and shot several blasts of air doen the tube. Backed the truck pump to the pump and I filled it right up. Hopefully it will stay that way for quite some time now. He said to bring it back and will do again if it ever acts up ...😊
This was so annoying. Having to stand outside in the winter, tanking .15 cents every millisecond, shuts offs, repeats, while my tank needs to be filled up to $50, and the guy in the other side pumping gas thinking your stupid for stopping the pump every time.
It really worked, for the first time! Just tap the fuel tank and afterwards blow it with compressed air ! No need to work on the Evap sis ! You're the man 😊👍
Seems too easy but genius at the same time. Will try this with my daughter's first car that is doing it. It sat for quite a while which I'm thinking has something to do with it too. No codes, just a PITA to refuel. My other daughter had a "Gross EVAP leak" should have known to check the cap first as it was just put in place and she forgot to tighten the cap. Much love for taking the time to make the video brother.
@@RBTheMechanic Finally had a chance to try it last night. Only have a pancake compressor so I ran out of patience lol. However, took it to refuel right afterwards. The first 2 gallons pumped worked as I had hoped but clicked off again. Added more fuel at half-squeeze then tried full send with luck for the next 3 gallons or so. Pump only clicked off 3 or 4 times to pump 11 gallons so all in all it was a HUGE success. I'm thinking I need to use your method a few more times to loosen up that rollover valve. Either that or I'm digging into the EVAP system next. Definitely a venting issue with air in the tank trying to escape while filling with fuel. All in all, it was MUCH better than clicking off every 1/2 gallon or so. LOL
Thanks for the great advice to start addressing the issue. I have learned from another youtube video that one of the things one needs to do to avoid this issue is to not over fill the tank with gasoline. Once the pump clicks off when the tank is full, that one should not continue to pump. Again thanks a lot for the knowledgeable advice.
I have similar issue with my Yukon and it’s super annoying whenever I’m filling gas, I’m literally going every weekend by 3 am in the morning so nobody will be waiting for me
Oh damn that’s erly try blowing air in to the port that would be a start Leme know if it work out not other wise I’ll recommend somthing else step 2 I guess
Interesting. Saw another video where they fixed the issue similar to this. My check engine light is on for the second time. Both times it’s been the same code: small leak in the evap system. I thought the issue was fixed the first time I took it. Second time they quoted $1200 expense for a new fuel canister and fuel cap + labor. I have an ‘05 Ford Focus. Going to see if my brother can try this and get it fixed! It’s been super annoying pumping gas since this issue came up.
Yeah that’s might need new canister try this but how ever if u got evap leak U have to do smoke test to find where the leak is. These are 2 diffrent issue su have one gas not entering other is leak in system
Charcoal pellets all in the evap system 😂 clean it by air pressure in hoses and canister counter parts , took my truck to a shop , $3000 total I’d even have to change my fuel tank because it’s probably clogged and blocked up also , son of a bisque eater 🤬 Thanks I’ll give it a shot 💯💯💯

I have had my charcoal canister purge solenoid air max flow sensor evap and hoses changed and 4 failed fuel pumps in year and the kick back still happens. I think I bought a flood car the whole gas part is caked up with mud when I got it. Obviously never noticed or thought about it until I started having problems with the car. At this point is it the filler neck or fuel injectors ? ! This is the 5th fuel pump and it’s starting to kick back . I was told to also get anew gas cap it’s a 2015 Toyota Corolla . Could this help or does it sound clogged? 😢
I bought a G35 coupe infinity. They didnt let me know and I notices the gas gauge doesn't read right. So when I try buting gas at a qt from E . It was hell dealing with the pump . At 5 gallons in it and it start to leak out I stop it by taking off the pump but now the car is throw my precious gas, like 😒 . I go in car half a tank. Not sure what in the world I got myself into .
@@RBTheMechanic sorry for my bad typing. What I meant was when I was pumping gas on my almost empty car. It took only 5 gallons before it start to leak out from the place you pump the gas. I took out the gas pump from my car and then the car started to leak it out from the open port, I closed it and it stop. For what I know the car has bad gas gauge so I'm not able to tell the gas meter right. So I guess on the amount of gas it has left. So if the car tank takes 30 gallons but I was only able to buy 5 before it leak and I'm wondering why it happen. When I got in the car it say half a tank so stuck fighting the pump or over flowing in gas
@@jaynava1312 ok so even if ur gauge is bad the pump should cut off on its on usully it will over flow when there’s no air venting out could be blocked evap canister or the valves
@@RBTheMechanic thanks for the response. I ran a scan tool and nothing is popping up on the scanner. So I'm not really sure how to test which one it will be . I know the valve are under the car by the truck the canister I'm not really sure how to test or figure out where that's located
This is happening to my silverado 11 is marking codes po446 I clean the canister and vacuum lines and change the fuel pressure sensor now I’m thinking can be the vent valve
Honestly man im not trying to knock you, but if its the canister, you have to be concern, because its going to happen again if the charcoal beads are getting through and blocking the hoses, fhe canisters are under 200 bucks for these american cars. Sometimes it can be something simple so light air seems fine but to those reading this please dont depend on this to work for everyone, always have your mechanic look at the canister its normally not hard to find its normally near your area where you refuel. Have your mechanic try this but with the hoses under connected with you evap canister box because that gets clogged.
mate you are a legend. It actually works for the first time!
