I love this song and the entire album even more. Also, don't forget you two loved just as much one of their other tracks "Book of the Fallen" last month.
There are a lot more repeating characters in the Malazan series than that summary would leave you to believe. It's an excellent series with top notch world building.
I have decided to read the series, would you suggest i read the books in order of publication, or is there a fan made list of how to read them so they make more sense chronologically? Hope you understand my question!
@@rolsen1304 I think reading it in order of publication (at least the first time) is better. I also think rereading the books once you have more under your belt (basically starting over every 3 books or so) is very rewarding, as each time you understand more of the broader context.
Listened to this song more times than probably any other since I first found it a few years back. Gallowbraid - Stone of Remembrance and Pure Wrath's cover of Farewell (by Saor) are a close second. I like multiple genres of metal but I always circle back to this. It's such a tragedy that they never made another album.
Malazan is as close to "impossible to capture in cinematography" as any fantasy series gets imo. It is truly epic and fantastical. I highly recommend it to anyone who is up for a challenge, but be warned: a challenge it is. Unlike most modern fantasy, or any narrative media for that matter, Malazan explains absolutely nothing, starts in medias res and is horrifically complex, even purposefully mysterious. The most rewarding part about reading (and rereading) it is discovering previously overlooked connections and revelations. Brilliant piece of literature.
Malazan Book of the Fallen is my favorite fantasy series of all time! It goes without saying Caladan Brood is also one of my favorite bands, thanks for the reaction and exposure to such amazing artists! I'd love to see you react to A Voice Born of Stone and Dust also by them! Cheers
The Worm of Autumn is a god in the world of Malazan. Autumn is about rot and decay, which you can see in the themes of the song. This isn't about the Crippled God as such.
Malazan is as intricate a fantasy world as has ever been created. Fantastic series, they just throw you right in and you have to kind of figure out what’s going on as you go. Love this band, own this on vinyl. Check out Gallowbraid - Ashen Eidolon as well, the guy who does that is also one half of Caladan Brood. One of the best black metal albums ever.
I've been in love with this band for years, better version of summoning. I'd tried reading the books the lyrics are based off and swore they gave me adhd Lastly you guys should check out the band Bal-sagoth, death metal from England and their lyrics are like a story like they pulled them from a book but the lyrics are original very cool

This song has screaming I can actually listen to and enjoy.
Probably my favorite song. Really captures the the insignificance of of it all
Very glad you actually loved the song! Whole album is a modern classic to me.

I wanna take big stick and find guys from CaladanBrood to force them to record new album that all of us wait for so many years
I have a big herding dog, let's find them and herd them into a recording studio.
@@vvoof2601 Same, I'll join and bring my shepherds staff as well.
"My god, it's full of stars!" This song is pure melancholic beauty. The whole album is a revelation.

Great song!! Now do another from Summoning!!!
Listen Gallowbraid - Oak and Aspen
or Gallowbraid - Stone of Remembrance. One of the most epic songs ever. It's the same guy from Caladan Brood.
@@iachtulhu1420 allegedly ;)
They did Ashen Eidolon. I'm still trying to make Oak and Aspen happen at some point
I began to listen to this masterpiece since 2015 good period, had 400k views, uploaded by lightfox...
You should listen to Gallowbraid, it's another project of one of the members of Caladan Brood, blessings 🙌

Want some "real-world-anarchism"? Just look at the collaborative free work between equals you have in this channel. So cool.
Also, you should react to Bone Dance by Charlatan. Probably a way different tune than what you regularly react to.
Please react evanescence across The universe
Its Malazan not Melasian
