Thanks for making this, helped me do all the maintenance I needed on an old e35 I just bought to bring it back into shape. Only difference was I couldn't completely remove the handlebars on my E25 because they were connected by a cord to the computer for the user to change incline and level settings. But, that was no problem. Again, thanks!
Well thank you ! And yes some of the newer styles have buttons on the handle bars and have a wire harness that run through the handle bar . But they should have a disconnect under the cover

Brilliant!! Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much! Thw sqweaking was driving me si crazy I was about to start cutting the plastic off the entire machine. In fact I will probably just leave all the redundant plasic covers off it.
Hi Dave, thanks for putting out a great detailed maintenance video. I have the E55. Watched the whole video first and ordered the Super Lube. Working on it today. I couldn’t remove the hand rail assemblies because of the wires for the Up & Down controls. Also, 2 bolts were 13mm and The torsion bar one was 11mm. Again thanks for great videos, well done.
Well thank you but you would be better off looking at the video replacing sole Flywheel more than likely your cable is broken or your fly wheel has issues
Applause 👏 and question 🙋♀️, Excellent explanation. You showed me exactly what I need to know to fix the squeak in my E95. QUESTION: How do I take it apart just enough to get through small doorway? I might have to disassemble major parts and reassemble 😬. Please let me know if you make a video for this. Thank you SO MUCH!!!
Well thank you so much!! To remove the center of the disk and the rest of the covers The best video I think on this is Sole elliptical incline board replacement. Please subscribe and you will see lots of videos on sole
Thanks for the awesome video. How often should we lubricate it? I have a Proform 620E elliptical. I haven't lubricate it at all. It's been running many years everyday for about 30 mins. I don't know whether I will be able to do it myself. That's why not taking a chance.
At 3:17, is there any type of washer (wave washer??) or black plastic spacer on the axle when you remove the "footpedal bar" from it, or goes on first before you put the footpedal bar back onto the axle?? Its a bit dark to see in the video, but just wondering because my machine has a little bit of side-to-side play that a wave washer or spacer that would press against the bushing would probably correct. The instruction manual shows his part already assembled from the factory so no insight to be gained there. I assume the outer connection is the flat washer and bolt.
Sole actually sent me this video because I'm getting a knocking sound on rotation on the right side.. I don't think this will help my issue since I've had this problem from day one.. but I'm going to give it a try unless you have another suggestion
Just posting this here. Mine turned out to be the foot pedal. I loosened the bolts and tightened just enough and the knocking went away. Thanks for the video.. I hope Sole is paying you for this 😂
Hi! Thanks so much for this video! It’s very helpful. I was wondering if you have a video on how to fix a squeaky noise on a elliptical Sole E95. We tried tightening different parts (mostly the ones you lubricare during maintenance), but it’s still squeaky. It kinda sounds like it’s coming from inside the flywheel.
If done everything on the video for the lube and still feels like its on the inside, that normally is in the metal flywheel bearings. There is normally no parts to lube on the inside. If bought unit new and from Sole the flywheel maybe under warranty you can check with them. Most squeeks however are in the ramp area, cleaning and lubing that gets rid of most of them. Please see below youtube links they may help. Let me know if I can be further assistance and thanks for you kind comments. ruclips.net/video/gF2VoZylCdc/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/oDfQl65fjeU/видео.html Thanks Dave
I don’t think you can clean flywheel. See video understanding sole brake system . I have it all apart in that video dust it out maybe but it is a lot of work .grease and lube are on my website Fitnesspartspro.com 😃And thank you Dave
Thank you so much for this video. We purchased our Sole E35 in a country where we could buy any needed repair materials or have it serviced. Unfortunately we moved to another country where that access is not possible. I tried to buy lube for the rail/wheels from a local sports equipment store. They sold me liquid sewing machine liquid. Sole lube is not available here. What universal lube would you recommend instead?
Well sorry I don’t I have always used sole lube on rail. But I have had plenty of customers use white Linthicum Grease .If it makes noise just wipe it off and try another brand
Thank you . I would start with calibration. Then you are looking at the incline controller I have videos on this on my channel fitness technology services
Thanks so much for this great video! It really helped me a lot. At 1 min 41 secs in the video you say not to lose the little tube. When I disassembled my machine it cracked. What is the tube and do I need to get a new one? Not sure what it does. Thanks.
Very informative video. Not sure if responses are still active but I have major rust that has formed on the elliptical legs. Similar to what happens to weight plates. Do you have any suggestions for how to restore this? Thanks!
Absolutely not . I have had two customers who sanded the legs down and repainted them looked ok . One used a rougher finish like a hammer metal finish. So he didn’t have to sand it so much
Hi. I have a sole e25 elliptical that I bought in 2020. Lubricate all the parts you mentioned. However, I’m getting an extremely loud squeaking sound from under the cover where the cranklflywheek area is. I can’t for the life of me figure out what is causing it. Any ideas?
Your video is great! Nicely paced with informative comments. Question - maybe 4 years ago I removed the encased bearings in the joint you started. Removed the seal and put the same super lube inside to really lubricate those bearings. It's worked flawlessly since but wondering if this is worth doing and how often? It added a bit more work but I want to keep this machine humming for many years! Also, how do you clean out the encased flywheel since it's inside the plastic shroud? Seems like a lot of dust, dog hair, etc. would accumulate in there over the years.
Well thank you I don’t think there is a recommendation for when to Grease that joint. Depends on how sweaty it gets. On the flywheel question I would see my video on replacing the incline board! You have to take apart the covers off once there you can clean any part
I'm the only user and I don;t sweat much so no issue with that, but more to the point, since its a sealed "ring" of bearings, is there any guess you might make as to how often I should crack it open and load it with super lube? every 2....3... 4 years? The machine only gets used once a day for 40 min tops. Same with the flywheel area - how often is what I'm trying to determine.
@@we6871 well honestly I don’t think there is a set time if you are not having issues Maybe 4 years or so. Sorry most customers just replace them when they fail so I am not sure on opening them and Regreasing them
@@FitnessTechnologyServices I definitely will! I have had the E35 for almost 1 year and it started squeaking a bit. I am going to do this maintenance today and hopefully it will help.
Dave I have a used Nordictrack Ntel18913 that has high peddling resistance- twice as difficult asother ellipticals. How tight should the belt tensioner be set? I have no play in the belt at all its like a guitar string.
The little ball joint you are messing with at 4:55, what is that called? I have this exact elliptical, and was hearing noise every time I stepped, I took the plastic cover off to see the the ball no longer stays inside the circle hinge. Do you have any idea what I can do to fix this or the part I would need to order? Thank you for your time! Amazing video!
Well thank you very much 😊it is called rod end bearing and yep easy to get send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@gmail and I can it . Also if need I have video on finding sole elliptical serial number. Dave
For the arms to leg use clear synthetic Grease for the rails use sole lube you can see them some in video for more info contact us at fitness medics @ g mail .com
Thank you for this! I have an e35 exactly like in this video. Lately towards the very end of my workout, during the cooldown (so low resistance) it felt like it jumped the track. I was able to recreate the issue and I think the actual problem is belt slippage. Do you have a video on how to tighten/adjust the belt on an e35?
Sorry I don’t have one titled belt adjustment. But all my subscribers view sole flywheel installation, removing the belt is part of flywheel installing hope this helps Dave
Hi Dave, great video. Just purchased a Sole E25. It came with the Lube Tube but nothing in the manual about where to use it. Your video answered that for me. If we use the machine about 45 minutes per day, when should I think about relubing everything?
Do you think these devices last with constant maintenance or are they a waste of time? By "maintenance" I only mean what happens in the video, as people may find it difficult to maintain the flywheel if it has many malfunctions I'm thinking of buying one, but I'm afraid that my money will be lost and it will become just junk due to its frequent breakdowns and difficulty in maintaining it. I have no idea if these machines last for years with people, or if they break down for a year and they forget about them
Well that’s really hard to say I have seen many elliptical units last for many years. And some only a couple. Maintenance does not mean less repair always. Parts break! It just allows to run smoothly and more quietly . And it’s good to keep it as sweat free as you can. As far as the flywheel goes there is no real maintenance . Just replacement if it fails. But I will say flywheel replacement is low ! But very hard

Im about to buy a used Sole E55 and it needs to be lubricated. The sellers are giving it away cheap so I will grab it and use your video to fix it. What lube do I need to buy???? Thank you!!
Hi, I have to have my machine setup near my TV. There's no other room for it. However, when I use it with the TV on it interferes with the TV signal somehow. I've tried different outlets but to no avail. What's happening and is there any remedy?
Well to be honest I have no idea what would cause that? Hmm if it is wave or frequency related try moving it slightly to change angle of signal. If it is power related you may have to run a power cord and use a completely different circuit just for testing
Good morning. My Sole 95 is several years old. I hadn't used it in some time, and when I tried, the console would not come on. Any ideas? I wish you were in the area!!! Thanks so much
Good morning back I would start with checking your fuse . Then check if you have a power light on your incline controller board it sends power to your console I have videos on both Fitness technology services
Hi Dave. You help me before with your video in an email in my handyman was able to make a simple repair to my Solé E55. Today I got a lube message across the screen and I don’t know where to Lou bit or what to tell my handyman? Can you advise?
@@FitnessTechnologyServices I’ll have to look up your email again so i can send you a picture of it. it says “need lube”in pretty big lettering, and then on the right hand lower portion of the screen it’s flashing a smaller screen that says “lube.”But where the heck do we Lube it?

My Eliptical does a knocking noise on the left side when in use. It feels like it is somewhere under the left foot or rail. Everything feels secure and seems perfect. But we cannot figure out why only in a precise spot on the left side it happens. Any ideas? Its like a quick clunk clunk on the left side only as the left side comes down. Thanks for your help.
Power to the console through wire harness or power lite on lower incline controller is on .Start with unplugging console wire harness in case it is just a connection issue .
Got mine a year ago, and didn't use it because the resistance is really tight, what are u guys using for maintenance and lubrication for the arms and leg connect. I gotta put this thing to work
I have the rail lube and and joint grease on my website now. Fitnesspartspro.com . Let me know more about Resitance being tight .It might not be a lube issue, email me at Fitnesspartspro@gmail.com if want to
Thanks for the video! Question: My elliptical there's a clicking type noise when moving forward or backwards. At any resistance or incline it has the noise. It sounds like it's coming form the left side inside the wheel cover... any ideas?
My elliptical started making a belt noise when I use it, but doewnt make it unless I'm on it. (If I move the pedals without me on it then no noise happens). Any idea if I need to lubricate the belt to fix?
Well you can’t really lube the drive belt with standard lube it will make the belt slip. You will need to use belt dressing it soften the belt and maybe help. I have a example of the Type stuff I use on a treadmill belt see how to troubleshoot and repair motor belt noise
I have a somewhat older E55 I bought lightly used awhile back. The other day it started vibrating wildly as it spins. I tried doing all the stuff you recommended here, which I feel like might have made it slightly better, but its still pretty bad. Do you have any ideas of what might be the culprit?

I own a 2012 sole e35 and the display show motor error after putting some resistance, but if I use it at a low resistance level or without any resistance it works fine and can use it for as long as I want without any problems. Any help will be really appreciated it
You would have to start out with the gear motor maybe the gear is stripped in it and it’s slipping on a higher resistance causing error it send me your serial # to Fitnesspartspro’s.gmail.com to get the right one
Hi, My sole E25 screen as well as little fan does not start, it keeps flashing (+fan turns a little) and stops so I guess there is a power issue. I checked 9v adapter's power with a multimeter and that is fine, what possibly be wrong and how can I fix it?
Hmmmm you will probably have to replace console sole has some display boards . Not to many would depend on year sole # 1-800-258-8511 I don’t have any for the 9vdc system sorry
Anyone know how to fix a bar that has broke at the weld? It’s the bar where the silver flat rails attach to. Weld broke where it attaches to the horizontal base at the back of the elliptical. I have the E25 2016 model. Not even 2 years old. Not happy.
hello Sir. i have a epic elliptical having problem with a booting when you turn on.. only blank screen last time i used it las year. now i want to use it is blank any recomendation please. greatly apreciated
Hmm that’s hard to say there not much you can do on epic if turning on and off kinda fast you will have to replace console as far as I know. But I would check on Iconservice.com
Great video(s)! Thanks so much. Recently I've started getting an E2 engine error a few minutes into routines. I can stop, and restart the routine...then it appears to run without error. Any suggestions as to the potential sources/corrections for this error. My E35 is about 7 yrs. old.
Jeff W Well that’s odd ? Do you have to completely power unit down . If so sounds like you are rebooting console then console . If just stopping motion then restart pedaling does it look for speed and distance reed switch Issue .And thank you Dave
@@FitnessTechnologyServices Hi Dave. Thanks for the quick reply. The error (E2 engine) occurs within the first few minutes of a programmed routine and it might occur during one of the incline changes, however, I haven't reconfirmed that last bit yet. When it does occur, I have to press the stop button and can immediately press the start button and then the same routine button(user 2)...and then it will run the entire time without error. Stopping the pedals does not clear the error. Over the last week, this error occurs in the manner described above...every time. Per your note above, does that sound like a console issue? Is that a serviceable component?
Jeff W Hi Jeff yep that sounds like a console issue the whole console is very easy . But costly 300 .00 ? The upper display is less 100.00 ? If available I will need your serial # for that . I have a video for that of course 😁 marked as finding your sole serial e mail it to fitnessmedics@ Gmail .com or call 410 286 5566 .Be safe and thanks Dave
I’ve just put together my e25 and tried it for the first time, for the first 2-3 mins it was silent and then suddenly a clunking noise and even felt a shudder every now and then? Any ideas?
Some of the sole and spirit models have the serial on the bottom frame were the rails mount to base frame ! Send me a pic of unit to fitnesspartspro@gmail.com
I am getting a knocking noise on the left side on my e25. Its farely new only 2 months old. I feel like it comes from the fly wheel left side when on. I had the hubby tighten everything he could but didnt help...any thoughts?
Hmm I would have to hear it . But normally it would not sound like it was on one side or the other. The flywheel is dead center! Check the tube in the left side were the lower handle bar connects to the pedal leg if it has to much play or missing it can make a noise
@@FitnessTechnologyServices we took the plastic cover pieces off of the piece that is attached to the fly wheel that is also attached to the foot pedal and we located a black bolt that was loose. Noise gone. We also, in the process of trying to figure it all out took the fly wheel plastic covers off the elliptical and put it all back together again without the fly wheel covers on just incase the noise comes back after using it a few times. (To allow us to fully access the fly wheel if needed and not having to take everything apart again). We noticed though there is some scarring on the inside plastic piece of the flywheel cover on 2 of the 3 pieces of the oval long pieces at the base (inside). Any thoughts on this? It makes us feel like something is off or rubbing the wrong way???
I have an older model e25 with only one track for the legs to slide on. The wheel on one side is loosening up and resulting in it jumping off the track. Is there a way to tighten the wheel? I cant find any info on doing that
@@FitnessTechnologyServices Thank you so much for replying. I checked the wheel again and there's a bunch of concentric metal sleeves around the axel that the wheel slid off of. I tried pushing it back on, but its too hard
Hi. Do you have any video info on a Vibration that is coming from the Flywheel on a 2013 Sole E35? Just started my last use of the machine. Seems to be more noticeable at a slower pace. Is it a belt telling me it is time to replace it? Thanks, Mike
Sorry, don't have a video on replacing the flywheel, will put one up this weekend. Just want to make sure you are talking about the metal brake assy./flywheel? A 2013 model should still be under warranty for the flywheel so you should be able to call Sole and order one. All you should need is your serial # and if you haven't registered it you will also need the date of purchase and place. If needed there is a video on finding sole serial #. 99% of the time this is a replacement issue of flywheel not belt. Just check belt for wear and black dust. Hope this helps, you can also email me at fitnessmedics@gmail.com if you have any further questions. Thanks Dave

Yes I have different videos on leg jumping send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@gmail.com so I can see what rails and bushing style yours takes
On a e55, there seems to be some squeaking coming from the pedals, is there anything in that area that needs to be tightened down, or lubed? Thank you in advance for your help.
mrski There is a axle that connects the pedal to the link arm under the pedal it’s self . This is were I find most noise on the pedal assembly grease and tighten this area Dave
Would you happen to know what kind of fuse goes in the E35? My fuse is blown, but it does not have any markings indicating if it is a fast blow or slow blow fuse. Thank you!
Your right it does not say but the looks of it I would go with fast better to blow another fuse than have bigger issue. Also in general if fuse is blown the controller is gone as well . Just how it works ? See video on replacing sole incline controller I have both if needed Dave please subscribe
@@FitnessTechnologyServices the fuse was definitely blown. A while ago I had a transformer blow outside my house which I think caused this whole mess. I just put a new fuse in and it immediately blew when I turned the power on. Oddly enough, they send me a whole new computer even though they told me to check the fuse first, then get back to them (I’m still under warranty for parts not service). I’m not sure if there is a bigger issue though, I don’t want to fry the new computer. Sorry, I am clueless about fixing things.
@@maryamanda7846 well if sole sent you a console I would put it on they are pretty good about there warranty parts . And you would need to for them to go to the next step. But I would report to them on what happened when you installed fuse first .But my gut feeling it would be the incline controller you would probably need a technician for that
Well the main reason I like sole lube for the rail is I know it doesn’t make noises when the wheels go by. But any silicone-based lube will work if it makes noise wipe it off and try a different types .On the arms and pedals .I like the clear synthetic super lube on them I have sole elliptical rail on my site if needed.www.fitnesspartspro.com
Morning, E3 is an incline error code. I would recheck all your connections again.
Well you are right the axle washer is a wave type washer. To keep the pedal from having to much play

Check the connection from the lower half of the handle bar . That the pedal arm hooks to . Make sure the bolt and nut are tight
Hi, great video. Could you show how to clean flywheel and what type lubricants to use. Thanks
I don’t think you can clean flywheel. See video understanding sole brake system . I have it all apart in that video dust it out maybe but it is a lot of work .grease and lube are on my website Fitnesspartspro.com 😃And thank you Dave
This was quite helpful. Thank you!

My pleasure and thank you!
Great information. What is the maintenance schedule? Time of use? Any recommendations?
Well not really I guess it depends on use and sweat 😓 some of my customers never have it done I would think every couple years or so
Great video!! Very informative. My sole 25 is showing an error when I try to adjust the level. Any idea?
Thanks.
The silver tube is a washer to take up space in the tie rod end piece. With out it it knocks some due to space in connection
Any ideas?
@@oozcan73 well that’s normally the flywheel . Check your flywheel bearing I belt it’s bad
Thank you so much
Glad I could help
Thanks tom hanks
Your welcome. And your are not the first to make that comparison 😁
Sorry most customers just replace them when they fail so I am not sure on opening them and Regreasing them
This is awesome, thank you so much!
My pleasure always if you can please subscribe I have lots of sole elliptical videos 😀Thanks Dave
Hmm it is probably not in the belt belt tension has little effect on that ,probably a bad flywheel
Great job my friend.
Thank you
Great video. How often is this maintenance required?
Richard Bent Not to often every 2 years or so mostly wipe down unit keep ramp rails clean

Well thank you The rails only need lubing when they squeak Just a pea size The frame and joints every two years
Great Job! Thanks!
Thank you
Excellent !
Thanks
Do you have any troubleshooting info/videos for the sole e35 elliptical 2020 ‘s controller console??
No sorry I don’t I do have one on replacing the incline controller. Send me your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@ gmail.com and what issue you have
Do you think these devices last with constant maintenance or are they a waste of time? By "maintenance" I only mean what happens in the video, as people may find it difficult to maintain the flywheel if it has many malfunctions
I'm thinking of buying one, but I'm afraid that my money will be lost and it will become just junk due to its frequent breakdowns and difficulty in maintaining it.
But very hard
thank you!
My pleasure

@@fitnesspartspro Thanks so much!
Why did you use the silicon super lube on the pivot joints rather than the lube that came with the machine that you used on the rails?
It is thicker and stays were you put it longer. The factory lube is too thin for the joints and the super lube is too thick for the rails
Great help!

Im about to buy a used Sole E55 and it needs to be lubricated. The sellers are giving it away cheap so I will grab it and use your video to fix it. What lube do I need to buy???? Thank you!!

Is there a battery inside the console of sole e35/2020 sole elliptical?
If yes, where is it located?
No battery
Hi, I have to have my machine setup near my TV. There's no other room for it. However, when I use it with the TV on it interferes with the TV signal somehow. I've tried different outlets but to no avail. What's happening and is there any remedy?
Well to be honest I have no idea what would cause that? Hmm if it is wave or frequency related try moving it slightly to change angle of signal. If it is power related you may have to run a power cord and use a completely different circuit just for testing
Hey Brother, how often should the maintenance interval be? Every 3 months? What would you suggest? Thank you.
Well that’s a lot of work for every 3 months. Couldn’t hurt? But I would think twice a year would be ok

Hi I have never heard of a lube message on a elliptical how silly 😜 if you want lube rails and recalibrate not sure why you get that code?

Check your rails for cracks I have them on my site www.Fitnesspartspro.com if rail good check lower arm to pedal connections
Hello, I have the same machine. I'm not getting anything on the screen. What steps should I take first. I have already confirmed power. Jerry
Power to the console through wire harness or power lite on lower incline controller is on .Start with unplugging console wire harness in case it is just a connection issue .
@d0YE my new Sole E35 came with a squeaky left pedal- i fixed it

Got mine a year ago, and didn't use it because the resistance is really tight, what are u guys using for maintenance and lubrication for the arms and leg connect. I gotta put this thing to work
I have the rail lube and and joint grease on my website now. Fitnesspartspro.com . Let me know more about Resitance being tight .It might not be a lube issue, email me at Fitnesspartspro@gmail.com if want to
Thanks for the video! Question: My elliptical there's a clicking type noise when moving forward or backwards. At any resistance or incline it has the noise. It sounds like it's coming form the left side inside the wheel cover... any ideas?
Is this with someone on and off it could be the plastic rubbing and clicking. Also check the silver rails for small cracks just in case
Most of the time when the elliptical vibration is something you can’t see it is in the flywheel axel bending or the axle bearings going bad .
what kind of lube did you use for joints and track? Thank you.

Any preference with Sole versus Nautilus or Norditrack.

I have an older model e25 with only one track for the legs to slide on. The wheel on one side is loosening up and resulting in it jumping off the track. Is there a way to tighten the wheel? I cant find any info on doing that
