Amen to chiropractic! I am a DC and applaud you for saying that. Also you understand the principals and philosophy of chiropractic, in where any force into the body can fix a subluxation
I have the opportunity to pick up a used law enforcement 1201fp and was doing some research before I decide to get it and ran across your video. Great video and you made my decision easier. I liked seeing it run through different shells. Thanks again and well put together.
I went & pulled the trigger on one from AIMS. 1st & last purchase from them! The gun is sound but cosmetically it’s crap. I will be getting it cerakoted soon!
Stuff the hollow synthetic stock with a lead shot filled "bean bags". Remember the square beans bags you played different games with back when you were a kid? I had my grandmother sew me up a few with some shot I emptied out of some cheap shells and I stuffed them into the stock and brought the weight up to about 7-7.5 lbs. and it helped the recoil immensely!
I had one of these ages ago, very reliable shotgun....I remember it having super small rifle type sights that I hated . And the stock was way too long as well...if I saw one now at a good price I would grab it
BlackHills Magnum ... Marlin Model 60 .22lr , Ruger 10/22 Takedown , Ruger Mark V Bolt gun chambered in .223 , Savage Axis XP bolt action youth rifle chambered in .243 , and a .270 Winchester ... Honorable mention a Ruger Mini 14 chambered in .223(cannot shoot 5.56 like some other guns that shoot both). Lol there you go , 5 + 1
BlackHills Magnum ... Or you kin just piss off our fine gun grabbers out there and buy 5 different AR platforms before they become illegal in a state near you , that'd work too
officer 007 ... Lol what because he has the right as of right now to legally purchase them if he pleases ? That's not very nice of you . You don't even know me and if you're an OFFICER you should be protecting those rights while it's still legal instead of bullying someone on the internet . What's wrong with you ? God bless you anyway and bless your little ol heart . PS you have the right to carry one or have one should I say but we don't ? Makes sense 😏
Can you guys please do a video on disassembly, and re-springing the gun? I got a 1201FP, and freaking love it, but there is not much info about it on the web. A video of how you re-sprung your gun, and if it now cycles the 1100fps it hung up on last time. We appreciate all you guys do!!!
I used to own one of these, sometimes malfunctions could be induced by an improper grip on the gun due to the action cycling being reliant on the inertia of the bolt carrier. These are pretty sweet simple shotguns but shooting magnum loads in a 6 pound 12 gauge is a brutal experience 😁🤗😥
I've owned this gun for about twenty years. Sold it and ended it up buying it back. Put an extended bolt release on and it's a great gun for no more than you have to invest in it.
I have had mine for over 20 years. Where do I get an extended bolt release and also a front sling mount. Mine has the spot on the stock for a stud, but no indication of where to mount a sling in front. I really like mine.
@@benkanobe7500 It's been so long I don't remember where I got the bolt release. I believe it was actually a Benelli part. If you check a lot of Benelli and Beretta parts are interchangeable. You might find your sling mount that way. I know it's not easy finding parts specifically for the 1201FP.
My 1201FP will cycle everything including low brass birdshot I bought at Walmart. With that said, if you don't have it planted well into your shoulder it will malfunction. It's recoil operated and needs something to recoil against. If you hold it loosely down by your side, she will malfunction. My 1301 is gas operated and works every time no matter what. With recoil operated shotguns adding too many attachments will increase weight and cause malfunctions also. The 1201FP has more recoil than most of my pump guns. My 1301 isn't horrible but it's still not very light in the recoil department being as it weighs only 6.35lbs. You can't beat physics. The recoil is night and day difference between the 1201 and 1301 however. I'd rather shoot my 1301 anytime.
My first shotgun believe it or not. picked it up last year for 400 love the gun, runs flawlessly with bird or buck. Great all around gun. Great review!
That gun looks very scary. I've seen it used in movies where it took down an AC130. I believe it makes 13 foot size holes in walls. Definitely should be banned, 2nd amendment WHAT? The 2nd amendment was put there as a gag come on guys. This stuff is ultra mega uber deadly shooting full auto 40mm fully semi automaticlly
I bought one of these last month from Cabelas gun room along with a Winchester 1300 Defender (Looks brand new!). It looks like a police department decided to switch out a bunch of shotguns because they had quite a few Winchesters. The Beretta unfortunately has the tube crimp so I lose a bit of capacity, but it looked like it was in great shape. I still haven't had it out to the range yet.
A local shop has 10 of them. The one you have has different ghost rings.Mine has LPA with tritium inserts on front and rear sights (long faded) As with most shotguns the stock is too long and a buttpad that does nothing to mitigate recoil. These are both easy fixes. I like 12 1/4 inches total length from trigger to end of recoil pad. As you stated these gauges are very light and quick handling. Just like The Benelli guns they work better when you keep the bolt wet. Federal Tactical 00 and number 1 buckshot are my home defense choices with a nod to the 15 pellet number 1 load. I did change the small bolt handle for a larger one to allow more positive charging. One other advantage to the 1201 manual of arms is the very quick ability to do a select slug. For $349.00 you cant beat them !
Brit's Might say "up the tube " but I think we're more likely to say "one up the spout" not that it matters We get Your meaning & I love Your video's whatever terminology is used . Thanks to all at 8888 for all the enlightened entertainment . As always Well Done Keep it up folks .
Do you have any good sources for police trade-in firearms? I've found some decent deals on Classic Firearms and Centerfire Systems, but I've not see any rifles or shotguns on either of those sites.
I’m new to your vids. Very fun and overall you have a good attitude and very friendly when it comes to explaining and informing me the viewer. Great Job 👍🏽
About the 1301, i would not call it a symilar gun to the 1201, in fact the BLINK system has very little in common with the 1201 inertia system. Not that this is a bad shotgun of course
revolverDOOMGUY true. The 1201 is nearly identical to a Benelli M1. The main difference is the stupid way they attached the end of the mag tube to prevent it accepting an extension. I carry one for patrol. I carry Hornady in mine because their shells are a couple of MM shorter than federal, and it will hold 6rds of Hornady in the tube.
Yep, i agree that the 1201 is very close to the m1. I had the pleasure of using it myself too. I also have HEARD that the 1201 and the fn slp are very symilar systems. I never owned a slp so idk. But hey, gun companies imitate each other all the time so i wouldnt be surprised.
Just picked one up to be my patrol/ bear gun. Slightly dismayed at first, seemed finicky, but I was more than satisfied when I realized it loved the brenneke slugs my department uses in droves.
I have never owned what I'll call a "two step" action shotgun so I may be biased but if I have the mag tube loaded and I cycle the bolt I want the gun to load a round from the tube. I don't want to have to push a button just to load a round. If I want to cut off the mag and take the current round out then put an easy to reach switch to cut off the mag instead a button to hinder loading. I just don't get why some shotguns are like this. I'd also prefer the bolt to stay locked back every time if the mag tube is empty rather than pushing a button to perform this task either.
Chad Eric I had a super 90 back in the day and that inertia system will beat the brakes off of your shoulder. No bird shot loads would cycling it only the nastiest Buckshot and slugs.
Does anybody know where I can get a set of ghost ring sights for my 1201FP?... mine has the rifle sights which are no bueno. I’ve asked Beretta but they were next to useless and haven’t found anything aftermarket online. Will Benelli ghost rings also fit?
MM53 ya I handled a 1301 tactical and my god it pointed and swung well and very natural good sight placement and real light i think that with a small light up front loaded up with double od buck would be a great barn gun

So how about you start a series where you buy an old tumble dryer load a pistol (for semi autos put one in the chamber) and put it in the tumble dryer, turn it on then come back and see if it's fired. Obviously you'd probably need to armour around the machine and it wouldn't be a great test but it'd be good fun
I have one with a 20” barrel and the pistol grip stock. It’s great shot gun I just don’t like the sites. Especially the rear one. It’s really tiny. Do you have any idea how what could replace it?
Don't forget that Beretta has been the majority owner of Benelli for quite a while The 1201FP will accept some M1 Super 90 parts as-is (bolt handle and cross-bolt safety) or with slight modifications (Sidesaddle.) The 1201FP barrels and magazine tubes are proprietary. FWIW: My 1201FP3 would Ghost Load.
I used the bolt handle and cross-bolt safety from Dave's Metal Works. The Sidesaddle was a Tac-Star. I used a round and half-round file to modify it to fit the slightly different contours of the Beretta 1201FP3 receiver.
I have an unfired 1201 and a M1S90. Both bolts look very similar if not exactly the same. I bought aftermarket bolt handles (GG&G) and fits both shotguns.
Now if you mean sources for Beretta being a majority owner of Benelli, Benelli's global website even admits as such. The company's history page states that they were acquired by Beretta in 1983. Man, i was all confused, totally misread that 1201 as 1301. Thats a relatively new shotgun, when i read police trade in I was excited! I want one of these bad! LOL
Awesome video and awesome shotty (I also own one)! First thing I did to mine was to replace that buttstock with a Benelli M1 Tactical pistol grip stock. When you guys replace the springs in Eric's 1201FP, can you make it the subject of a video? I'd love to see more on this classic ole Police riot gun.
Unfortunately I've never had a chance to shoot one of these, so I have a question: you guys mention a lot about how bad the recoil is because of the light weight of the 1201, but how does that recoil compare to that of a conventional, 12-gauge, pump shotgun? Do you mean it's heavy recoil for a semiauto shotgun, or just heavy recoil, period? Either way, thanks for the great content. You guys are still making some of the most-watchable gun stuff on RUclips!
Got lucky and found one of these a few years ago un-fired, NIB. If I were to decide to "bust it's cherry" is there a preferred method? Should I start out light and work up to heavy loads or does it matter? And approx. how many rounds will it take to break it in properly?
there's one of these used at a gun shop nearby for $400 what do you guys think is that a good deal? i already have a 12 gauge but it's a pump action would be cool to have a semi auto too
Why not upgrade the recoil pad? My 887 is still lightweight at just over 7 pounds and being a pump has more kick to it but Remington, love em or hate em, put a good pad on that gun because 3 1/2" mags don't give you that shoulder realignment. Also before the 887 hate, I'm the one guy that never had an issue and still love that cheap shotgun, mines been awesome.
Scooped mine up for $315 out the door, 20" model with rifle sights and ported barrel. Solid shotgun

lol thats the point im being SARCASTIC
And I heard it takes those .30 caliber magazine clips that make it shoot 30 rounds in half a second
so much truth in this lol
i would reduce your own tidepod consumption to less than three a day BTW

Thanks for this great video!!! Will you do 1301 Tactical as well? :)
The Federal payload is actually just under 1 ounce and the pellets are smaller than actual 00 buck, it’s more #1 Buck than anything.
That may explain the malfunctions.

Can you do a review on the Stevens 320 or have you already did one? Thanks
I have one with a 20” barrel and the pistol grip stock.
It’s great shot gun I just don’t like the sites. Especially the rear one. It’s really tiny.
Do you have any idea how what could replace it?
"meat tenderizer in a box" Great line guys. Made me laugh, thanks.
You guys gotta do a browning auto 5.

I had a couple of these. Great shotguns.

Man, i was all confused, totally misread that 1201 as 1301. Thats a relatively new shotgun, when i read police trade in I was excited! I want one of these bad! LOL
Great gun for a dude wearing body armor. Hence the light weight and modest LOP.
Any chance of a maintenance video?
I've always wanted one of these ! very cool !
Could you review the Stroeger Double Defense over-under one day perhaps? Would like to see you guys take one out on the range.
Awesome video and awesome shotty (I also own one)! First thing I did to mine was to replace that buttstock with a Benelli M1 Tactical pistol grip stock. Chest and shoulder workout could help with adjustment while shooting.
It literally is a Benelli M1 super90 with Beretta stamped on it.
Where did you get that earmuff cover?
I was at a pawn shop and saw one for $125. "It only needs a forend" can you have a video on disassembly?
Great little shotgun works well as described in this video
Improper grip causes the malfunction. You have to hold it hard and fight the recoil for it to cycle reliably.
It's times like these I wish I was a Yank. Love from Aus. x

Very first shot jams...thats not a good sign lol
it might be the ammo he's using.
Another great video! Thanks fellas!
Any chance you'd wanna make a coyote gun vid, I'd sure watch it.
there's one of these used at a gun shop nearby for $400 what do you guys think is that a good deal? i already have a 12 gauge but it's a pump action would be cool to have a semi auto too
My Mossberg 835 with 3.5” shells has a bit of a thump to it too. I love/hate that thing.
