How to install and reverse a Pedal Assist System - part 3

- With the crank arm and bb cup off, I access my PAS sensor. To have it on the left, non-drive side, I unscrew a bolt and flip the sensor. Then re-install with sensor between cup and bottom bracket.
It's because it was manufactured to be installed on the other side where the chain sprocket(s) are not the side that your installing on. However it's a good thing you figured it out and posted the video tutorial so others less savvy can find out. This important information should be given to everyone by all the manufacturers so buyers don't make that mistake as I have seen some do and others even ruin the parts trying to alter it and getting it wrong.
Almost thought bought wrong pedal assist. Thanks for your video, you helped a lot!
Not messed with a bottom bracket before, will give this a go to fit pas. Good instructions thanks for posting.
Teflon tape is designed to seal against water leakage on an extremely low-tolerance (low-precision) pipe fitting. A bottom bracket is made to higher tolerances (higher precision) and there is much less space between the shell and the cup - in fact, unless you have a PoS from walmart, that teflon tape is just going to be pushed out into a layer between the cup's outer plate and the shell. To those watching this, just put a layer of grease or even cheap petroleum jelly on those threads. The reason we put it on, is to interfere with the aluminum and steel fusing together. If you have a steel bb cup, rust is your enemy, if the cup is aluminum, it's an electro-chemical interaction between the two metals. It takes a very long time to happen, but it does. But don't do this teflon nonsense!
Use anti-sieze compound for that if you're worried about galvanic corrosion/welding.
It is supposed to go on the other side of the crank arm with the chain sprocket
Obrigado me ajudou muito!
Omg thanks a lot for your video 👍🏻
thank you. I just put a new kit in my MTB and the motor was only running when I was pedaling backwards. Now I turned the sensor over and solved my problem.
You can file the end of a zip tie down after you cut it but usually set it so it's out of the way I do
I think you do not have to reverse the reeds. Just put the magnet disk correctly. You put it backwards.
i want to thank you because my 1000 watt voilamart i had to flip my psa in order for it to work
I also use the 1000w voilàmart but life I use the pedal assistance its too powerful so I can’t even pedal in the same times ... do you have the same problem ? Do you know how to reduce the pedal assistance power ?
Thank you 👍
PAS sensors does not seem to come with a on/off switch , or does it ? ..
you have to unplug from the controler if you want it off?
Yeah, basic PAS has no on/off switch. I just turn the assist level to 0 on the motor controller.
Golden Sim
Most throttles come with a red button to turn it on or off and for low, medium, and high assist. Or from the fancy digital device that also tells you the speed if that is the one you have.
whats the make of that disc?
How can I stop the sensor and use the throttle only . I try to plug out the wires but the bike doesn’t work
Khalid Jasim If you have an LCD screen you can change the settings
😊
My wiring is different colors than the original red black and green the wires on my new replacement is red yellow and blue I didn't want to short out anything
So I'm asking for some advice from anyone that would know about it. touch them together just as
What would happen if some magnets removed instead of that
That might go faster because the motor think that it's going slow because there is not enough magnets some people move them further away and put them on their pedals so they get smaller strokes cuz they're on their back wheel the magnet on their spoke that's far away and it doesn't connect like this one so they take the magnet off the tire which is big and put it on the bracket of the pedal or the pedal itself and it's smaller goes faster
I don't mean the magnets big I mean it's on the tire which is bigger than the stroke of the pedal so it goes around faster so maybe it would go slower with less magnets I'm not sure good question guy
quick follows up: ruclips.net/video/Du3g70P3rd0/видео.html This Chap cured the problem of a reversed PAS by flip the magnets around. His sensor was a different kind, but this also seems like another solution.
do the arrows on the round magnetic disc point to the rear?
Pa Th
No they should point to the front.
so what would happen if you flipped the magnets and not the sensor? Would it a/ pick up the magnets and b/ do so in reverse?
@@chrisliddiard725 Yes, he did it wrong

You need to eat more spinach or baked beans good luck””
Please don't hold tools like this guy. You can very easily stab yourself doing it like that. Be conscience of safety.
