Will this work for ps3 games that are streamed via PSN subscription? was able to capture gameplay perfectly but not sound. My yetti nano is in the computer and the chat link pro is hooked into that. I'm running my regular turtle beach headset in my controller.
Do you know what the Optimal Brightness and Contrast settings need to be on the Elgato Capture Software and OBS? The game is too dark on both of these compared to the TV screen.

Hello! I am generally satisfied with how my HD60 X is working with my PS5 and OBS. I've had to test some things out, of course, but now I'm getting the hang of it! Although, I do have a question, I am aware that the HD60 X supports 1080p60 HDR10 recording, but does it support HDR10 for 1440p60 and 4K30 capturing as well?

Hello, I'm pretty new to the streaming scene. Question: if my computer only supports 4K at 60 hz, but my monitor can support up to 120hz, does that mean my stream still can only be capped at 60hz? Im a little confused on the microphone part of it. I have a bluetooth headset that i just plug into my PS5. Would i have to still use a wire to have it be able to be heard when i Stream?
Any microphone audio from your headset goes directly to the console, this is simply how Sony designed the console and software. If you wish to talk to your chat when you stream, you would need a secondary microphone on your PC or Mac.
what about Streaming PC and Gaming PC?
I tried this with a Samsung smart Tv and it doesn’t work. Elgato blue light and all the cables are hooked up, but the PS5 does not connect to the Tv screen once we use the Elgato inbetween. Any tips on how to fix with a Samsung Smart TV?

The proper setup with be a dedicated monitor connected to the HDMI output of your capture card. If you only have one monitor, you *could* connect the capture card's HDMI output to another HDMI input on your monitor and switch between inputs when you wanted to play with zero-latency.

1. With the Elgato HD60 X do you need a pc or would a laptop work fine and will it still have the same results

1) Laptops can work great as long as they meet the specs, such as a fast quad core CPU, dedicated graphics card, USB 3.0 5Gbps. Even an iPad (if it has USB-C 5Gbps) on it can work with HD60 X. But that's another video topic.
2) USB 3.0 as a port type is relatively old now. It started showing up in 2012. You very likely have 3.0 on any modern computer. If you send an email to our support team we can verify your computer's specifications. A USB 3.0 5Gbps port is required for HD60 X to function.
3) HD60 X is our most compatible capture card, so we'd be surprised if it wasn't an option in the end. Reach out to us at help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and we can walk through this in more detail.

I've been setting my eyes on HD60 X for a while now, and I have two questions.
1. I have a PS5 and a monitor, and my primary computer is a brand new MacBook Pro 16-inch laptop. Does that mean in order to connect the HD60 X to my MacBook, I would have to use a USB A-to-C adapter?
2. Is a software like the OBS Studio or Elgato 4K Capture Utility necessary for recording the gameplay?

When connecting PS5 through your PC can you use the audio you use for the PC with the PS5 or do you need the cable to make this all work together? I want to be able to stream games through my PC or PS5 depending on what I am playing and do not want to switch everything around every time I go from console back to PC. Yes but I want to be able to hear the audio while playing the ps5 through my PC and of course my pc audio while using the pc without shoving to switch my wired headset each time.
@@lowrider962 You have windows or mac? U need to set the input (headset) and output (elgato) in the windows settings or macos as a multidevice so that the sound gets trough your headset and tv via hdmi. So you have sound on tv and pc 🤙

My old pc does not have a 3.0 hub. Does this product still work on a 2.0 usb hub only?
HD60 X and all of our current external devices require USB 3.0 to function. They are sending a vast amount of data into the system.
Why is my streamlabs OBS not picking up my elgato HD60x when i use video capture source. Like it shows black screen. Can i use game capture source instead? Would i have audio output then?

You may want to try changing out the HDMI cable from between HD60 X and PS5 and if your TV has a HDMI 2.1 toggle option in the menu, try turning this off.

okay, so I am trying to make gaming videos and i’m trying to have my voice and the game volume, do I need chat link?
hi Elgato Workshop... i have setup the hd60x tih PS5 and a 2020 m1 iMac just as the video showed. i have already disabled the HDCP too, but when opening the OBS, the no signal screen is going on and off constantly and the PS5 doesn't show on the monitor (via the passthrough).
I tried switch to Streamlab, and the problem stay the same, so my first guess it has got something to do with hardware/cable connection
then, I tried changing my hdmi cable, still no result
the no signal going screen on and off for every 3-5 seconds only happens when I connect OS5, I have no issues when connecting my XBox n Nintendo Switch.
i only have mac and don't know the current status of my firmware, as I saw and quote: Updating firmware using a Mac is not currently possible.

You need to change the PS5 HDR settings to off when it shows up on your macbook. I had the same issue. My monitor said no input signal but the ps5 would occasionally show up in OBS

huhu, i have a ps5, elgato hd60x, Mac m1 setup and everything works fine but the sound, how do I get the game sound into obs? do I need the chatlink cable? do I need legato 4k capture utility? but on homepage it says doesn't work with Mac update: there is now sound in obs if I go with hdmi on my ps5, but how do I get sound on my headphones
He answered this in the video, you need the chat link cable to have sound going to both at the same time
I can get everything setup, my headset, mic in obs..i hear everything but people in warzone complain of feedback. I can’t seem to correct the audio at all. I tried everything. I can’t see to figure out what to do anymore

That should be fine. It appears to vary from game to game but as long as your PS5 is outputting 4K at 60Hz, or 1080p at 120hz it will work with HD60 X.

So you need to have a a second hdmi cord that’s not included? Or can I use my ps5 one?
You would use the one you currently have with your PS5 to connect to HD60 X. Then use the HDMI cable we include in the box to connect HD60 X to your TV/Monitor/Display.
Can this work with monitors with one hdmi port?
If your monitor has one HDMi port i dont think it will work since you need 1 to console and 1 to monitor but also need one to connect to PC to show on screen. A splitter problem wouldn't help since its using 1 port to switch between 2 but it might.
Even if your PC has a VGA port you can use your motherboard which they usually have one just in case as the main image for your PC to monitor that freesnup your HDMI for the Elgato.
I only have 1 hdmi port so what do I do now

would this downgrade the quality of the gameplay for the ps5 to TV or will it remain unchanged buy the capture card (will it remain 4k 60fps on the TV screen)

@@elmarkotv unsure, I play at 120p 120fps and don't really notice a difference. I did notice a bit of input lag, but I think that's normal for any medium device since you're adding another medium to transport the data, and it honestly wasn't that noticeable unless I played on the software they provided.

My game audio cuts off when I connect the chat link to my controller and than switch the sound setting on the ps5 to the headset controller. My audio only goes through when I have the ps5 sound settings output device to hdmi device (monitor)
Update: I’m using the 4k capture utility to stream on tiktok, I went into that application went to the settings-Device- than switched audio input from HDMI audio to Analog Audio.
Just wished this capture card has HDMI 2.1 passthrough. Maybe I'll wait for the 4K60 X?
HDMI 2.1 is still a pretty expensive technology in many ways. Will take some time. :)

My screen flickers black during games unplayable
this capture card doesnt come ready to use off the box. I experienced audio crackling on 2 hd60x cards, image issues and stuttering. Also my image froze and I had to keep messing with the cables in order for it to work. I suggest you skip it and wait until someone else puts out a better product

I can confirm that it is not ready to use out of the box had the same issues you had. Contacted support and I had to force and update by holding clt and clicking on the setting button in the 4k capture software and after the update it worked great.

HD60 X supports up to 60hz officially. So this would be 4K60, 1440p60, 1080p60, 720p60 passthrough.
If I have an Astros headset, do I still need chatlink? I have hd60 s and voice chat and game audio works without chatlink

Depends on which model of Astro headset. Some have a mixamp with a dedicated Stream port which lets you send a custom mix of audio to a capture card.

@@ElgatoWorkshop I have an hd60 x connected with astro mixamp tr pro with the hdmi adapter supported from astro for ps5...I get a red flashing light on the hd60x... everything is pass-through 4k 60 hdr on my tv...but in the 4k utility and SLOBS(Streamlabs) I get audio using audio IN from mixamp on both apps/programs but only both are showing black screen...then I'm stuck from there...any help appreciated thanks...also got a ticket on the site waiting from email reply from Elgato
@@lseven79 Have you found any fix to this? I am running the same set up and have audio from both my PS5 and on the 4K utility program. Would there be a way to mute the 4K Utility so it doesn’t echo in my headset but so OBS can still pick it up?
The elgato appears for me in obs but I have no signal through my monitor, I’ve tried disabling HDCP and VRR, as well as lowering my resolution, and nothing is working

I have followed the instructions to a T and the PlayStation monitor does not turn on. The lights on the front of the Elgato card flash blue, white, purple. I have disabled HDCP as well on ps5

You only need an HDR capable display if you wish to play in HDR. If you're fine playing in SDR, then a regular monitor or TV is all you need.
Are you seeing this black screen on your display or in the capture software?

Only if you wanted to play or record in HDR. Otherwise an SDR/non-HDR display will work perfectly fine.
Does this method work with a splitter
In general, you can use Capture Cards with splitters. Just be sure it's a higher quality powered unit, beyond that we don't have much guidance due to all the different options.

HD60 X can accept 1080p120 or 1440p120 from a console. Then in software such as OBS Studio, you can stream.

We're really sorry to say that the PlayStation only outputs audio once. This means that you'll need a cable.

A capture card can only capture what is sent to it, this is true for Video and Audio. If you see something on your TV, then this should be captured by our devices.

I got the usb c part connected to the pc
I got HDMI out plugged into the monitor that displays the ps5 screen
I got HDMI in plugged into the PlayStation
But nothing is happening
The monitor says no signal

The setup would be very similar. Connect an HDMI cable from your PC's Graphics Card to the HDMI In on your HD60 X. You'd then either connect your monitor to the HDMI out on the HD60 X or use Windows Display Settings to mirror your main display to the HD60 X since it will appear as another monitor.
mine came with a c to c not a usb to c ?

Hi there, you can still connect it up to your PC or Mac. Was this perhaps our new 4K X? That card does include a Type C to Type C cable for the 10Gbps USB connection.
yes its the 4k x it wasnt reconizing wen i pluged it in to the c port obn the pc so i used the usb to c from the s+ i had, is there a sertain way to plug the 4k x in with the cto c cuz i can get it
@@SKILLZ1GAMING You can use 4K X with a C to A cable as long as it supports at least USB 3.0 speeds (5Gbps). Your HD60 S+'s cable should work great. Though some of the top resolution/fps options will be limited in capture.
