    One of the greatest bands ever - bringing together of awesome musicians. You can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit guiding them sending us into a heavenly world. Walked into a mysic store in 1985 heard this playing on overhead speakers. I asked "who is that" to tge store assistant. I bought all their albums and the rest as they say, is history. Abe Laboriel, Justo Almario, Alex Acuna, Harlan Rogers and Bill Maxwell, Hadley Hockensmith. Absolute Legends. Forever music. Salute!🤗

      I'm with you! I like ALOT of genres of music - they do it all. Plus, they are great people too! I first became acquainted with them in Bible College early 80's. They blew me away from the first note. I was playing guitar and a fantastic bass player I knew told me "hey you gotta listen to these guys." I played those cassette tapes until the magnetics were chewed off! I then bought more! During the same time frame I found a little unknown guy from "Blue Jug" - who opened up for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels. etc., his name is Ed Ratzloft. You got to listen to his 2 Christian albums he produced! A Christian southern rock feel to them. I had forgotten his name, lost his music and tried for years to track him down. I finally just a few weeks ago searched an old CCM data base and it all came back to me! I found it. listen to his songs (all are good though!) "Every man" / "Praise Him" and "I've been down that road too" - you won't be disappointed I promise. Blessings!

      I was lucky to see this line-up in 1984 in Gothenburg, Sweden, where the live LP was recorded. All of them are legendary. But most of all the music is. No-one just makes music like this anymore. It's just so sad. All the people in their 30/40's just have no idea. Let alone the millenials. I feel so sorry for them. They just don't have any idea.

    Ich hab Koinonia , ich meine es war 1984 oder 1985 in Gießen in der Kongresshalle gesehen...mit anderem Gitarrist ... außerdem hatten sie Chester Thompson den Schlagzeuger von Phil Collins dabei....ein Konzert der Extraklasse auch von der Atmosphäre her...Koinonia sind bekennende Christen...ihr Eröffnungssong, gesungen von Abe Laboriel "We love Jesus" auch wieder Extraklasse...

    Wow, I'm surprised at how loud the drums are mixed. Playing that loud they don't give space for everything else that is going on. It also sounds like there are no overheads. All you hear is close micing. It makes the kit too much in your face. I like what they are playing but its just missing character.

      Sorry, but you're commenting something you obviously haven't got the faintest idea on what you're even commenting. Grow a pair of ears and study some of the music these guys recorded back then. There are eg 100's of Grammy tracks of Abe Laboriel of his own. For this stellar L.A. studio band this was just some whatever-gig in Germany in the 1980's. Try to admire the attitude they spread the real music in the real Rick Astley times - Rollin' much? 😉

    • @Daveinet
      @Daveinet 2 года назад

      @@imthezongz This is not about the players. The players are no doubt great. I have the Celebration CD from back then and went to a concert where they opened for Debbie Boone. (we were there to hear Koinonia) So yes I know what they sounded like then, both live and in the studio. I stand by the fact that the artistic expression is masked by the poor mix in this concert. I am surprised that players at this level would tolerate the poor mix. Quite possible they were forced to use the house engineer.
