WATCH LIVE: FL v Danielle Redlick - Wife On Trial For Murder Day 1

  • A woman stands trial for allegedly murdering her stepfather-turned-husband, and giving authorities a flimsy story about him stabbing himself and having a heart attack. Danielle Redlick, 48, faces a count death of second-degree murder, and tampering with evidence for allegedly killing Michael Redlick, 65.
The backstory between the couple is patently complicated. Michael’s second wife was actually Danielle’s mother. They allegedly married in the first place to get her better health coverage as she was dying of cancer.
“In fairness to Mike, Danielle’s mother was dying of cancer when they were dating,” an unidentified family friend told WFTV. “She had terrible insurance.”
The account is that he fell in love with Danielle after her mother died. They married, with Danielle becoming his third wife.
The union ended in bloodshed. Danielle Redlick called 911 the morning of Jan. 12, 2019. She allegedly told police that her husband got angry on the night of Jan. 11, took a bite out of her McDonald’s burger, and spit it at her face. He allegedly grabbed, pushed her to the ground, and rubbed his fist against her face while shoving her head to a stove, she allegedly said. This culminated in her grabbing a knife, but he grabbed it, and made “stabbing motions” at himself. She allegedly claimed to try to hide in the bathroom, while her husband was at the door apparently referencing the movie Cape Fear.
She claimed to find him outside in the living room, badly hurt, cops said. Defendant Redlick allegedly claimed she tried to save him using CPR. She couldn’t find her phone to call the police, and she collapsed in exhaustion next to Michael, she said. Danielle woke up the next morning, and finally called 911, she allegedly said.
But authorities said she was on a dating app about two hours before calling 911. The state of Michael’s body also allegedly didn’t match her story. Contrary to her account, an investigator said they found no signs of Michael vomiting, and that the bruising on his left arm was consistent with defensive wounds. He had fingernail impressions on his left forearm and a bruise on the inside upper lip of his mouth. There were no signs of a heart attack, no signs of bruising consistent with CPR, and his ribs were intact, authorities said.
Those who knew the couple allegedly said Danielle had a foul temper. Even their children allegedly said she was the one who usually started fights in the relationship.
Officials said that Michael Redlick had sustained a fatal stab wound to his torso, likely dying in minutes.

It's a very broken system. Sometimes it doesn't work. I think almost everyone including the jurors think she murdered Caylee. However that "reasonable doubt" is a doozy. I wish they would've gone for different charges. Perhaps a manslaughter charge would've seen Casey Anthony do some jail time. It's sad. Rest in peace little Caylee.

That case still bothers me. I can't FIGure out what the Jury was thinking. If Ms Anthony have 1 oz of paternal instinct, poor little Caylee would be alive and well today. I was a 'momma bear' protecting and providing for my cubs and SHE could care less where he child was or with who! as long as SHE was enjoying HER life as a single woman. Sick She should should have a court order to sterilize her and a court order to prevent her from supervising a child. Record opening statement you plan to present to jury and listen back. Rehearse it to point that it's concise , easy to follow a time line, while engaging like you would read a book. I lost interest in details as it was presented because of language structure chosen. Having BOTH WILLING ADULTS is the ONLY way to create and SUSTAIN a marriage/romantic relationship. You cannot force someone to be in a relationship with you. @jillfeatherman5523 Год назад +7

I had to listen to it a couple times but I’m pretty sure Danielle’s sister was from when her bio mom and bio dad were together. Because the attorney says that her mother was separated and started dating Michael. They dated for 3 years, then got married and she died 3 months later. Then the attorney says that Michael asked Danielle to come help take care of her 16 year old sister. So I’m assuming that Danielle was older than her sister because she didn’t live with them. So really Danielle’s sister was her bio sister, but Michael’s step daughter. The sister obviously wanted to stay with her step dad and not her real dad. That doesn’t change the fact that Danielle and Michael have 2 kids together and their step sister is also their aunt.🤢 But at least we’re not talking about incest.

    • @danyetoohotforyoutube

@@jillfeatherman5523 thank you for the breakdown. I had to go back and listen to it a few times as well. The way the attorney told it was confusing on the first listen. But I didn't think incest was involved. However, I feel bad for the jury. In actuality there is no blood relationship between Michael and Daniel. So the only flaw is character and morals on BOTH their parts. However, there's a whole lot missing from the way the attorney described the situation, and that's what they do. But if Danielle was old enough to work at a bar, and know that her mother had passed away, and this was her mother's husband, then she knew better than to get involved in a relationship with him. Especially since her lawyers opening statement claims that she had family and she had the wherewithal to feel some type of way that the family would disagree with the relationship. So she knew it was wrong. I'm not one to jump to the conclusion that she was being "groomed". I would need to hear what the relationship was like between her and her mother. If this man appeared to have influence and money and Danielle and her mother didn't get along it could be very possible that she was gunning for her mother's husband. I know of many situations like that.

I’ve watched trials for years and there are lots of terrible attorneys out there. Public defenders, paid defense attorneys, and prosecutors. Lots of great ones too. Just because they go through the same type schooling does not give them great speaking abilities. If you are new to trials watch the entire Chandler Haldorsen trial. That shows a amazing prospecting team. The lead prosecutor is one of the best attorneys I’ve heard. But his public defender is atrocious. I mean terrible. The team stinks. Riveting case.

No. HE had her phone AND his own phone, he continued to shout threats for 5mins whilst she locked herself in the toilet (he'd already previously knocked the bathroom door off the hinges). Why did he not phone 911.
Only when the threats stopped and it went quiet did she get courage to open the toilet door, she thought he may have gone out but was afraid he was hiding to finish his attack on her... she was shocked to see him dead.
