I'm jealous of you, In my youth, I was not allowed to dream, at the age of 12, we are forced to work for living, to help parents and support our household and never went to college and now I'm fucking 28 years old, the decision of me long ago as a weak minded child to allow them to cut my wings is now reflecting in my day to day life. Fortunately, I completed a small vocational course and that helped me taste the "a programmer" dream that I wanted long time ago, now I'm a low level web developer with very low income doing css/sass, html, javascript, vue/react, nodejs, mongo, php, laravel, mysql and little python. Due to very low educational achievement, it restricts me to get a job with good pay. Keep it up bro, eye for the gold.

Tech-sector jobs don’t care about your degree
If you know your stuff, you get paid well, really only need it for your first job, rest is experience based

It is so cool to learn in university. But I don't have such opportunity, because I live in Russia and here is so low education level so it's useless. I'm going into college in 2022, to leave education as soon as I can (I'm strong but I don't wanna risk and don't get any education at all).
techn0 , you can just study abroad. There are so many opportunities for you to study in great European countries. And it’s absolutely free, if u know their language

I have to say that a day in the life of a software engineering student has changed from when I was one. It was all cheap meals, crappy house shares and working to 5am in the morning?

@Calisthenics_Warrior I'd say easier tbh, becuase the field has grown, employers are more picky and want you to know more technologies, so I'd say that the amount of work u have to do outside of classes is higher.
Amazing work on your first video, some feedback: It started great with the getting ready & breakfast part it then got hard to watch during the class part (more talking and little b roll of class would have been much better :)

I've been editing for 7 years and I am 16, from experience editing is not something that you just learn and are instantly good at, sure, there is some software that edits for you, however, it takes time to be good like this guy.

Hey dude! I have a 15inch macbook pro which is overkill. I would suggest you check out either macbook pros 13 inch base model. Get anything with 8gb ram and 128ssd (If youre only planning to do programming of course). 8gb of ram might struggle abit against xcode (iOS native development) from time to time but nothing big. If you dont want a mac, checkout dell xps13. Also same specs in terms of ram and storage. If thats over your budget, then I would say to go look at a asus zenbooks. OH and also, i5 are perfectly fine. Try to get the newest gens with windows. You dont need anything special to program tbh! I just do a lot of photoshop, lightroom, premiere pro and even at that, I'm going to need something much stronger like a custom PC.
