It is fun. It was made boring growing up, but you need to find that spark for learning. A good environment and a goal for studying helps alot. Realizing I was being productive was one of the things that made studying more fun for me too.
I like to study. So much so I forget what's in my actual syllabus and remember more advanced stuff. But yeah it gets boring sometimes. We all just need to find a drive to keep us going.
This is so accurate! I am also a mechanical engineering student. First couple years are challenging then it gets a little less stressful- especially during senior year. Keep up the good work!
@@nastydre4433 You can learn the concepts for sure. They’re pretty straightforward. The math proof will need some calc background; that’s the hard part.
Me too! I'm freaking out about all the stories I've been hearing from my engineering teachers, so I came here to confirm what a regular day would look like 😭
What I learned as a ME at Ohio State in the early 90s is that I can regularly NOT sleep one day a week. So I can wake up on Monday and not go to bed until Tuesday night. Compared to college, "real life" has been easy. Getting married, having kids, buying a house and everything else, including immigration to the US was stress free and no-anxiety inducing as it was college. Maybe it's because one gets older and gets more perspective in life, but at the time of being a student, that was my whole and sole job and function.
Currently bouncing back from depression due to having to withdraw from two of my classes and this really motivates to keep going and finish my mechanical engineering degree
This video well describe my university life back in the days. Studying a mechanical engineering degree in Canada is exactly like this. Glad to have a refresh of an undergrad life.
I have a B.S. in Physics and started my undergrad as ME major, my life in college had never been this interesting. It was pretty much the most boring time of my life. I study all the time, like literary all the time. I'm pretty sure my girlfriends left me because I was just that boring. If you do a day in a life video of me in college, you would see me at the library all day studying, then returning to my dorm to study more in the study room then going to the cafeteria to study as I eat, then at night I study in my room next to a bed to never sleep in (since I don't sleep in this field). Lastly I would go to Dunkin Donuts to get coffee and study for the rest to the night because my roommate in a donkey's major wanted to sleep to catch up with his partying.
Wait now I dont get it, which degree/ major was intressting and which one is that hard and boring. I ame interessted in both Physics and Mechanical engineering. Btw all your hard work will hopefully pay off 😁
@@hejda4101 It pays off in a sense that it got me into Johns Hopkins for my graduate degree in Engineering, so I can repeat this process. Mechanical Engineering is simply applied Physics so you can't be interested in ME and not Physics. I think the best part about getting a physics degree is that I had to explain to almost all employers that Physics major can do everything that an ME can do since ME is just applied physics. These recruiters are not engineers but a management major or a business major and know nothing about engineering. To your question read the last post again, I pretty much explain how boring my life is when going for this degree since I have to stay shut in and study all the time while others at my schools get to go party and have fun.
I`m a international student and i'll going to welc after xmas. hoping to catch you on campus and thanks for doing these videos. Some of them really helps me a LOT!

not at all. The stress is there until graduation and upper year courses become more difficult as they heavily rely on advanced calculus.

As a mechanical engineering at western I would say that my entire life is studying until I go to sleep where I only think of equations.
