In this video, I demonstrate how to not have a mental breakdown whilst objectifying yourself in Blender 3d.
Funko pops are these vinyl figures that some consider creepy, some consider fun to collect, and some consider literal fb marketplace GOLD. I don't know what possessed me to, but I created my girlfriend Kate as a Funko Pop and honestly have no regrets. Great piece for a gift, or for the old portfolio.

I like to think he was stroking his beard while wondering what he forgot.
Oh my lord
Same
Omg lol that would be so funny
"still feel like something's missing" just didnt add the beard
fruppy I found that out during editing/: lol
@@DanielKrafft or did you just shave while editing to not have to model the beard?

I love the jokes in your videos, they’re so subtle.
Thanks!!
I found the fact that you called your pop denial instead of Daniel funny

Thanks!

Thank you for the tutorial. i was planning to get to my first charactermodel in the next months but after seeing this i will start today or tomorrow after finishing my current project. this channel is so awesome :D
Thanks! I'd love to see what you make (:
This has been on my list to do for a while so congrats on getting the first tutorial (that I've seen) out there haha.
If you use a resin based 3D printer or perhaps an FDM to print ABS that you then treat with acetone (preferably the first though), you'll have a great model you can paint. That's what I plan on doing once I figure out how to model one haha
Thanks for the tips!!
Great tutorial. Finished it. It was a little hard to follow (considering I'm new to blender) but I'm very pleased with the result. Thank you!
I believe your sub-divided cube is available as a default object now... oh, maybe not - I just checked :[ Sure I saw one somewhere! Maybe in an extended base mesh add on - I think it was called 'rounded cube'.yeah, found it! The add on (comes with Blender) is Add Mesh: Extra Objects. tbf tho, your way is just as easy, as you have to tweak the radius of the rounded cube when you add it (by default it's more of a bevelled cube - increase the radius and you get your rounded cube) and even then, you'll probably want to add a sub div to it just for fun, so, if anything, it's probably more clicks! So, I'll get me coat then... totally agree though, a 'cubed' sphere is so much better to work with than a UV sphere!

yo, thats what i was thinking
“It’s not the same kate” sure it’s not like the pop looks exactly like katerino

The figure looks real similar. There is potential.
You just read my mind
I'm not sure who you are but I enjoyed every second of this video thoroughly, so have a subscriber.
Thanks Casey! Much appreciated
You're the best, was really hoping you'd make a tutorial for that!
Nice to see another person using his CPU to render, great work man
Your videos are very fun to watch and I really hope you make more of these
Advice: this might be pretty basic but you can also use other funko pops for special clothing or hair references
For sure. Great advice
Really nice art style! Thanks for the tutorial! :D
You're welcome (:
@@DanielKrafft :) *
You could really do a beginner tutorial from this, its very hard to follow this way
i think these would be the absalute best gift for someone who collects pop figures
For sure
Thanks for being alive

Thanks for this tutorial !! I had tried this in the past with no success but today I made my own and it looks insane !! I will create several more for sure ^^

Nice "to sphere" and elastic definitely tips.
Hatsoff to you I thought it's very difficult to make character..but your technique is out of world👍👍
You made this look so easy! I want to make one now but Ik that’ll go bad XD
What is this channel even.....I'm subbing
Also, what did you do for the shoes in the beginning? how did you stop the mirror from extending the feet in the back too?
I ended up separating it by selection, removing the mirror modifier on Y axis for the "Shoes" part and then just put them under the legs where the legs stop
I have been planing to make one and this is pretty usefull to know
I like your style and I like your jokes :D
Print it, because is Beautifully :D (I honestly didn't know you had a beard XD)
Thanks Daniel for this tutorial
P.S I have a question, will there be another episode about tips to Blender 2.8?
Thank you so much! And yes I do have plans for one (: Although it might be a bit before it happens due to the size of that video
Great walkthrough
Thanks for sharing😀
this is another level wholesomeness
It slightly upsets me how good your are at this it also makes me happy
Mah man.. this.. helped me out SO MUCH, you don't know... THANKS!
Awesome tutorial. I dont even use Blender but this helped in cinema 4d.
i wanted to give this a try, i have but i have gotten stuck at the legs and arms and etc: i having trouble expanding out the stomach part and making legs
This is super, super cool. My words literally can't express how I am honestly amazed by this, just because I can't do it. 😂. No, really. Great job!
Haha thanks! You could do it with practice (:
@@DanielKrafft Of course, your tutorials get me everytime! I love it!

Really helpful dude, thanks
you should totally make these as an anniversary gift
I have just watched the video. I made two Funkos too in a similar way!! I printed them with a 3D printing machine and then painted them with acrylic paint
Found this in my recommendations. (:
Very fun idea and a great video!
Edit: It's going on my gift idea for the girlfriend.
Hey, Any chance you could make a bit more of an in-depth tutorial for this for people who are new to blender like me, (or if there is a way to add the shortcuts you used in the vid in the captions or something??) I've just downloaded blender and I got stuck very quickly, I Love your funkos they look great! just wish I knew how to do it as a noob to the program :)
Hey man, check out grant abbitt’s recent character creation series, it goes way more in depth as it’s several episodes haha. He also creates a funko pop
The best part about it is that funky pops are very simple and relatively easy
I love the cheeky little name u gave ur funko pop thing denial not Daniel funny funny keep the good work up dude
Wow that’s really cool I’m going to try doing this do you have a 3D model of the bare funko figure
HOW DO I TRANSOFRM WITH A BOX IN EDIT MODE? I ONLY HAVE THE OPTION TO EDIT POINTS AND VERTICES. its like you have a lattice modifier in eidt mode by default. how do i set that up?
Thus made may day.
What a fun tutorial.
"liked"
I tried following the tutorial but I still have no clue how to make one, was fun to watch though!
Hey im trying to make the head shape but he skips the part on how he made another vertex on the front of the head. Does anyone know how to make it?
I actually hate funko pops but man you really nailed the design of you did a render with a box I would swear it's real
Haha thanks man. I don't hate them per se but I definitely don't understand the fb marketplace collections where folks buy like thousands of them.
The shadow looks weird maybe you should edit the SSS (subsurface scattering)
good content , keep making funko models they are funny, and if u can make animations
Could you do this again for in depth for noobs like me?
That would be nice :p
Yeah, That would be very helpful
I think it would be better if you do a bunch of other tutorials first and grow your skills, then see if you can tackle this one :)
That's what I did, I had some difficulties but I managed to finish it and that felt good lol
Why does he have a box around his cube hmmm...
How many times did he cut and what smoothness HMMM...
HOW DID HE REMOVE THE VERTICES AND MIRROR THEM HMM...
I hope he does a more descriptive tutorial. Maybe enabling KEY-STROKES.
@@bagszy9848 the box around the cube (after adding a subdivision modifier) is the dimensions of the original, unsubdivided cube. it looks like a sphere after adding the subdivision modifier but it hasn't turned into a sphere, it's still a cube, just extremely smooth. So yea, that box is the cube and editing it is how you edit the shape of your cube
select vertices you want to remove > press X > choose vertices.
then add a mirror modifier
as for how many cuts, you don't have to copy him exactly just do what works for you. If you really want to, try to read it off the screen
You nailed the big dumpy
love your dry sense of humor, stayed for it I don't really care about funko
I attempted making a funko pop last week but doing any other pose than t pose is really difficult to get right
Chase L Did you rig it?
Cool. My laptop crashes when I choose the sculpt option.
Forgot the beard after "taking it away real quik" huh
Who the flying Suzanne makes cuts during a tutorial?? Fun to watch, hard to follow.
Could you provide a download to your project? Would love to look through it
😂best blender tutorial yet
that bit at the end was kinda deep
this is something I'm definitely going to try
Would love to see it when you got it!
@@DanielKrafft ohh! Considering this is the first time I've ever sculpted( I'm kinda new to this XD ), it's very chunky, but it came out better than I expected to tbh so here

this iis amazing! i subbed

“Feels like somethings missing..”
Yeah, the beard.
y e s. The tutor is here! Thanks.
I'd love if your actual funko pop would be this one but it'd have like XYZ arrows, like blue, red and green to show like what you do on your channel
"for me it´s same story just like the head: cut it in half"- D. Krafft (my favorite quote of the year xD)
That's pretty much awesome and cute 😍❤️
Dyaa Serag thank you!
Great model, but this was extremely difficult to try. It really frustrated me to try and figure stuff out since you skipped a lot of steps :/ I don't think this really works as a tutorial. Also, I don't know how to solve extreme pinching in between the two legs. Whether I make them separately like you did or along with the rest of the mesh, I always get huge amounts of poles in that area because all the edges are reuniting at one point and I have no clue how to deal with that, or even if I'm supposed to deal with it since I don't know a) if you ran into the same issue since you never show the base mesh pass a certain point, or b) if you did, how you dealt with it.
Great tutorials man.
No problem (: Not really sure if this could be called a tutorial though haha
@@DanielKrafft I followed every step lol
Great tutorial. And jokes. But i have a problem. The nose of my model interfere with the head, because of the subsurface of the material. It creates like a gradient dark ring at the edge next to the head. Obviously, im rendering in Cycles. How can i fix this?
Im a bit slow, how do you stretch the size of the cube at 1:47
Just in time for mother’s day
How do you move around in the new version of blender?
great video for encouragement
Really appreciate the video - though I find the style and the fact that these sell mystifying. Wish I knew more about what made certain things appealing to the masses!
Angel Bunny I agree with that. I’m always surprised to see when I go on fb marketplace, literally hundreds of massive collections for sale
it's not mystifying, people love collectibles and pop culture but they differ too much in style between statues, action figures, etc. funko manages to offer a coherent and easy-to-display format for everyone, ranging from anime fans, movies fans, comics fans, whatever pop culture thing you're a fan of
@@gusmaiawork no they;'re just shit and so are u
@@angel_bunny so nice. Wow👏.

great vid!
For the bottom of the legs/top of the shoes, did you make those circular then merge them?
I just extruded them from the rest of the leg and filled the bottom. Make sure there's no shading artifacts though
Can you please do a Fusion 360 tutorial for this? I don’t have blender experience
I could make this for my father's birthday. I had to get a premade funko base model first though.
Hi Daniel, great work. I was wondering if you do this work as a freelancer. I'd like to have a custom funko as a present. I was wondering if you could the model for 3D printing.
Please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
if you print it, will it be to cubic? how do you print it smoth?
hey can you do a video about composite nodes?
