We have had so many swintecks. We were always told to never stop our slide mid stream. Keep the button pushed all the way out and hold for 4 seconds after and the same on the way in so that the motors realign. Never had a problem after that
I can't say how much I love your videos. They always seem to end so soon. 🙁 Your narrative is wonderful. So cute to see the children saying goodbye to their grandmother.
Awesome video guys! Totally agree Marissa about these high expectations when Rving...I think its about not putting pressure on yourself and enjoying the moment.
Your home base arrangement is just about perfect, in my opinion. If only one of our kids had more than a small city lot, I would have been happy to set up a full-time RV hookup for them and stay there! Seriously, the family time in your situation is really the best part of that. Thanks for the videos.
Totally understand that leaving from family feeling. I am the same way, when we leave his parents house. I can’t even talk waving bye. Since we have been traveling we feel the same we spend quality time now with family. He gets to have coffee in the morning with his dad, who has onset of dementia. Time cherished with family is definitely important. Great video guys thanks for sharing. We love Harvest host too when they are available on our route.

Nice meeting you guys in person today at the Hershey RV show. Thanks again for taking the time to talk to us. From the couple from Canada at the very end of Saturday with the mini-schnauzer in the dog stroller.
I have watched your videos from the beginning of our journey and currently doing the same thing with our home base but at my daughter's house and I can't wait for it to be completed! To be in the backyard and the grandbabies can just walk/run over is going to be amazing along with enjoying my first cup of coffee with my daughter. Thank you for all you do!
You should save those post-it notes and put them in a scrapbook, at least I think so and I'm not a scrapbook kind of guy. It took me a while to get to this one it's been a busy week. Keep the good stuff coming guys and give the kids a hug for me.
So touching to see your babies loving your mom. Precious. I have a post it not my daughter left for me one day on my mirror when she was 14 and going out of town to a ballgame with her friend and their family. She’s 36 today. Those post it notes are special. I always enjoy your adventures. Stay safe.
Like one man says, hold the button for 3 or 4 seconds after opening and closing and to sync them your spot on, might take a few times but has worked on my 2021 class C . If you’ve a small slide they’re typically not bad, big slides are the issues
Great video nice job on fixing the Rv up before on the inside and out. Before you head out on the road. Oh no with your slide. I hope it will be ok. I saw pizza and ice cream. Where’s mine? Lol! Hensley did a great job guessing about the ice cream. Hope you have a great night and rest of the week. See you soon!
Love the new door to match the slide trim. Really pulls it together! Saw you all from distance at the National GD Rally and was wanting to come over to hug you all, but didn’t as I didn’t want to disturb your privacy. JJ is talking so much now! Marissa, that dress you had on while watching your brother work looked so nice on you! Nate, your whole family depends on you to be the leader and it is so good to see your interactions with the kids. And then to have to figure out the mechanical stuff… it never ends! But you are doing a great job. God bless you all!
Ive been watching Grateful Glamper's challenges with their slide out. I hope this is a easy fix. Life on the road would not be the same if there wasn't a new challenge. People forget that living in a stick brick house has just as many challenges also. HH has been a Godsent way to be in touch with local businesses while passing thru. Thank you for sharing.
We love having the home base for a break too. Initially we planned not to have it but the pandemic and closures made us grab one. It’s nice to take a break that doesn’t include tanks and towing at times.
Just got adaptive driving gear. #1 Rule, test unit before departure - rev engine & engage brakes. Your check lists are great & are also reminiscent of private plane check lists.
ME, I need/use a WRITTEN checklist, just like an airplane pilot, before rolling out. Apparently many folks have problems with the power slide outs. The industry must all use the same mechanics. And no manual override? That's a bummer. If just one manufacturer/builder/assembler improves their system, they will gain customers. I enjoy watching your mental attitude in travel motion. Keep reminding us that adjustments are always happening, and remaining flexible is the way through any uncomfortable situation. Harvest Hosts looks to be a great way to honorably spend money.
We have an appointment at Vroom in Tucson. They are replacing our shwintec with theirs Oct 4th. We have had it replaced twice and worked on 4 times and it's a 2018.
Hey there Guys we love your all your videos. We love watching you guys are so much fun to watch. Love the doors in your bedroom very nice 👌.. thanks for taking us along with you everywhere you go really enjoyed them . What a sweet adorable girl and your little boy. They are getting big already... enjoy your time together they grow up too fast have fun stay safe out there on the roads Take care God bless you guys. .
I am very very glad that I have no slides in my RV. Granted, I don't use my RV as my house year round, but I don't have to move my walls around when I arrive where I am going, and then do it again to leave and still again at my next stop. I am glad for you that you have all that room when you are using it as your home base, but I feel sorry for you when you do one nighters while you are traveling. On another subject, you will want to get at least a clear coat of finish on that closet door Mason made for you. If you leave it exposed wood, hand oil on the wood will discolor it severely and you will not be able to sandpaper it out. A flat clear finish will not make it shiny and keep it looking natural without it soaking up hand oil every time you use it.
Hope you got your slide fixed. We had one that was at the dealer for 4 months waiting for a replacement motor from swintek. We finally got tired of waiting and the dealer agreed to give us a trade on it. We opted for a brand new unit with no slides!
Nathan, thanks for letting me interrupt ice cream time and introduce myself. Your channel was instrumental for Tony and me buying an RV and going full time. It was great to meet you in person.
The problem with raw woof is that it will absorb dirt, grime, and oils from contact with human skin. A layer to clear coat will keep it looking new and protect it from grime.
we just got home from a weekend trip. Friday prior to leaving nervous . extra careful....I feel you Nathan list is always larger than the time we have.

The closet doors looked great and I loved the Harvest Host you were at in Indiana. Our kids just moved to Indiana so I will have to check out this town and see if we would be close to able to stay a night there.
Great video as always. I’m sure your slide is taken care of by now and your well aware of this. I’ve had this issue a few times with one of my slides. You can put it in a bypass mode on the controller in the storage compartment and it will slide out, then you can re-sync it. Mine does it every now and then after traveling on bad roads. I’m in a class C.
Must drive down to Shipshewana while you're close by. We have a Harvest Host at the Menno-Hof Museum. The children would learn so so much from and with the Amish culture which is so prevalent. 😉
Well as I watch this I’m sorry I had to chuckle. I could only picture Kevin from Paving New Path’s having this issue. I was thinking if they are in your area call him. LOL. You are both such awesome families to watch. I’m ready for some Journey. By the way I love the natural wood too. It’s beautiful.

Omg. The Schwintek slide 🤦🏼♀️. Just hearing that sound gave me anxiety. I can no longer open or close our schwintek slide because I’m so afraid it won’t open or close all the way. It took forever to find the controller but supposedly it will give an error code. There’s also some tricks where you close it and hold the button down for 10 seconds. None of those worked for us. We had to have it taken to the shop to be fixed.
@@LessJunkMoreJourney oh yeah…this was last year. It’s since fixed but I now make my husband put out the slide because I’m so afraid of hearing that sound of it stalling.

But it is a personal choice.
If you keep watching week after week, you will actually start to like the unfinished wood. Some day they might do a light stain.
It is just our personal preference right now. 😀
