- Hung Cao, running for United States Senate to challenge Tim Kaine in Virginia, shares his personal story as a Vietnamese immigrant and a retired Navy Captain. Cao’s family fled Vietnam in the 1970s and made it here to “the most generous nation on earth.” Having grown up Buddhist, Cao became a Christian while in the Naval Academy. He continually shared his faith on the battlefield with fellow SEALs team members in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia.
Cao challenges that it’s our obligation to make America “a more perfect Union” because “If America fails, there is nowhere else to go.”

I am a Vietnamese refugee who had to endure trials and tribulations coming into this country at 14. Having served in the Navy for 30 years, I appreciate all the challenges that CAPT(r) Hung Cao faced for freedom and love for this country. The incredible story is how he found Christ through his wife and having five beautiful children. I had a profound conversion being a born-again Catholic, so I appreciate having a solid marriage and family. Great interview, and God bless America.

On the discussion of salt (which I realize was not comprehensive)- salt is also in every type of soap (you can even clean a pan with Rock salt, or your glasses with finer salt)- and it brings flavors together! Nothing would taste good without it. Our bodies also need it to stay hydrated -and balanced. And the word SALARY came from the word SALT- as it used to be traded like money: it’s THAT important! So many cool things about Salt-- Jesus gave us such great purpose in society. 🎉💪👍
