- Republican candidate Hung Cao was named the projected winner of the Virginia Senate GOP primary, according to the Associated Press.
Cao is a retired Navy Captain who lives in Loudoun County. He also served with special operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia and balanced the Navy’s $140 billion budget at the Pentagon.
Cao will take on U.S. Senator Tim Kaine in November as he seeks a third term.

“Waited here legally.” Congress had to passed the Indochina Migration and Refugee Assistance Act of 1975 to allocated $305 million to the Department of State and $100 million to the Department of Health, Education and Welfare to cover the costs of resettling people like Cao and his family. Without the act, Cao and his family would have been illegal. I can bet that his family also benefited from government welfare because the act also established the Indochinese Refugee Assistance Program (IRAP) to provided states with 100% federal reimbursement for refugee maintenance, medical assistance, social services, and related administrative costs. It sounds like Cao is the type that eat his fill when he needs it, but would turn around and kick it over so no one else can have it. What a great American 👏👏👏
