    The trams look nice and roomy! And I suppose 'Ciudad de la Justicia' is a perfectly reasonable name, but if you translate it, 'Justice City' sounds like the setting of a superhero comic. :-)

    Great video, G. I’ve been on trams that pretends to be a metro before - there’s one like this (less modern) in Brussels called a pre-metro. I wonder if that’s what these systems are called?

  • @stevieinselby
    @stevieinselby Месяц назад +1

    I should hope it does look modern, the system is only 10 years old!
    It does look incredibly impressive how spacious the stations are and how much investment has gone into them, which seems disproportionate to the number of passengers they can be carrying, but great to see trams running every 5 minutes on each line ... just shows what can be done when there's the will.

    • @user-hq6hb2xv4n
      @user-hq6hb2xv4n Месяц назад

      They are building future-proof infrastructure, that's why it's a bit over dimensioned now. Malaga city is growing at one at the fastest paces in Europe, the city is booming now and it doesn't look like this trend will stop soon. More metro and Cercanías (commuter trains) will be built and more and bigger trams and trainsets will come.

    • @user-hq6hb2xv4n

    It’s a nice little system if not a bit weird. I’m happy to see it gets a decent amount of use from locals. I think it definitely could’ve been a normal tram network where it runs on the surface for most of its length. The most annoying part of the system is that it isn’t integrated under one fare system with the buses. So when I was there, I had to get 2 separate cards. One for the metro and one for the buses.

    • @user-hq6hb2xv4n
      @user-hq6hb2xv4n Месяц назад

      Why weird? There are a lots of similar systems en the world.

    • @OpenbaarVervoer2D
      @OpenbaarVervoer2D Месяц назад

      Same in Granada unfort. with seperate cards. Alsa for the buses and a seperate tickets for the tram. Somewhat spoiled we are that in London you can travel within greater London on all modalities, even the cable car and boat with the same Oystercard. In the Netherlands we even have one card for all modalities for the whole country.

    What a great working holiday you are having in sunny Spain ... enjoy!! Great time of the year to be there too, cold & wet back home and not too too hot in Spain. Will you be riding the suburban railway along the coast?
    I once visited Torremolinos for a winter short breat, the railway line is a great way to travel. And when airfares were cheap I took a daytrip to Torremolinos too, it was 28 December and a lovely time for a walk on the beach!

      Utrecht and Amsterdam have the same CAF trams now, only the front and livery is different on those.
      Rotterdam Sneltram (lightrail) is just an extension of existing metro lines and is in effect just a metrocar on high platforms, same vehicles, albeit with a pantograph and road level crossings, while CAF Urbos are really low floor city trams that happen to run some parts free from traffic underground.

    Great vlog, as usual. A little tip to help improve your Spanish. They normally emphasis the penultimate syllable when speaking. There are exceptions and they indicate exceptions by putting an accent over the letter. In the station Clínico for example, there was an accent over the first I, because it's an exception, whereas you emphasised the second I. Hope you don't mind me pointing this out. ¡ Disfruta te!
