I was a little kid when I was first shown Star Wars on a videotape. It had been recorded off Channel 2 (New Zealand) and I think it was on in the last week of 1986. I watched the tape a million times. And the ads appeared in the same places in the film, as this UK one.
This is actually from October 24th 1982, not 1981 as I suspected. A quick check of my TV Times, also confirms that Harry's Game and The Car was shown on Wednesday October 27th. Good to see, nonetheless!
