AWESOME Daimler Benz DB605 Sound!
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is a German World War II fighter aircraft that was, along with the Focke-Wulf Fw 190, the backbone of the Luftwaffe's fighter force.[3] The Bf 109 first saw operational service in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War and was still in service at the end of World War II in 1945.[3] It was one of the most advanced fighters when it first appeared, with an all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy, and retractable landing gear. It was powered by a liquid-cooled, inverted-V12 aero engine.[4] It was called the Me 109 by Allied aircrew and some German aces, even though this was not the official German designation.[5]
It was designed by Willy Messerschmitt and Robert Lusser who worked at Bayerische Flugzeugwerke during the early to mid-1930s.[4] It was conceived as an interceptor, although later models were developed to fulfill multiple tasks, serving as bomber escort, fighter-bomber, day-, night-, all-weather fighter, ground-attack aircraft, and aerial Reconnaissance aircraft. It was supplied to several states during World War II and served with several countries for many years after the war. The Bf 109 is the most produced fighter aircraft in history, with a total of 34,248 airframes produced from 1936 to April 1945.[2][3] Some of the Bf 109 production took place in Nazi concentration camps through slave labor.
The Bf 109 was flown by the three top-scoring fighter aces of all time, who claimed 928 victories among them while flying with Jagdgeschwader 52, mainly on the Eastern Front. The highest-scoring, Erich Hartmann, was credited with 352 victories. The aircraft was also flown by Hans-Joachim Marseille, the highest-scoring ace in the North African campaign who shot down 158 enemy aircraft (in about a third of the time). It was also flown by many aces from other countries fighting with Germany, notably the Finn Ilmari Juutilainen, the highest-scoring non-German ace. Pilots from Italy, Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Hungary also flew the Bf 109. Through constant development, the Bf 109 remained competitive with the latest Allied fighter aircraft until the end of the war.

This Bf-109 G-6 aircraft (factory serial number 440738) had originally been built in the Neustädter Flugzeugwerke in Vienna in 1944. However, the aircraft already crashed near Matzleinsdorf close to Melk (Austria) on 29th May 1944. Along with the wreck of the aircraft its original aircraft data plate was retrieved and used for its rebuilding which Michael Rinner started and completed to a large extent in Austria in 2007. The Air Fighter Academy assumed the responsibility for this project in 2013. In the summer of 2018 the airworthiness of the aircraft could finally be re-established.
Footage is a compilation of recordings from both Hangar10 Fly Ins in 2018 & 2019
are these planes stripped of their original armaments?
@@ozanemredemir9392 yes, no weapons.
I am not quite shure if you noticed but if i am not wrong you mean it was build in the WNF (Wiener Neustädter Flugzeugwerke) wich are located in Wiener Neustadt and not in Vienna
Woher wissen Sie das
The sound of that Daimler Benz is music to the ears.
Flatter than the Merlin, but in many ways, a more businesslike roar!
@@philthrelfall5294 Nothing beats the sound of a Packard-Merlin.
@@keithallver2450 Except a Rolls Royce Merlin
I prefer the sound of this over the Merlin.
That whistle from the supercharger is awesome
Just a beautiful aircraft with master German engineering.
With the merlin in the spitfire and Daimler benz in the 109 .
Truly remarkable engineering from both sides.
Was für ein Flugzeug.....die Legende lebt!
This is a beast! It is 80 years old and still flying phenomenal!
Nice video , she's a beauty and sounds great. I love the Messerschmitt Bf-109. 🦅🇩🇪
Bf-109 are my favorite WW2 aircraft
P-51
It sounds so epic!!
Great videography, history and backstory. Watched it a few times. Thanks, enjoyed it.
Epischer Sound
Liebe die 109
An Incredible Machine 😍
Great sound quality!
Danke. Schone Maschine!
Legendary plane!
Einfach nur geil schon der Anblick davon. Fantastisch. 👍👍
I love that supercharger whirring sound and the overall dynamic engine utterances of these 1,475 horsepower inverted V-12s on the low dives. It's the best engine sound around and is always going to be iconic!
I could watch that plane fly, all day. :)
such a astonishing piece of engineering. In ~20 yrs between WWI and WWII so much impressive research and development happened, especially when it comes to aircrafts. Despite all the misery this period of time brought over so many people, much respect to all the nameless and unknown scientists, engineers and pilots!
The bf-109 in a way helped revolutionise the fighter aircraft of the time.
the sound of it approaching on the traffic circuit to land is amazing!!! Have to put that on the videos too, with no cuts
You mean full landing approach? Maybe I could upload that as a single video.
@@PaddyPatrone yes, for sure. The sound of the engine at low RPMs, and the pops and bangs of the exaust :D :D :D
So beautiful!
Gänsehaut! (Goosebumps!)
What a beautiful bird
What a beast!
Nice and perfect 3 point landing 👏
Awesome aircraft! Great video!! The guy sure is rough with the airplane on the ground though with his high-powered pivots, beating up and banging and sliding the tailwheel across the cement. I imagine he chews up a lot of tailwheel tires. Thanks for sharing. Mike Kelly, San Angelo, TX
Genial!!!
Dangerous beauty...
Hey Paddy, another great video. The bf 109, the ever worthy opponent of the Spitfire & for me equally as great a joy to watch & listen to!
Echt beeindruckend
Wonderful recording!
One magnificent beauty. So vivid and agile in this video. You can hear how all those mechanical parts work together - music to my ears ❤
Beautiful. Deadly
WOW Thanks for posting SIR 😁👍🏼
Was für eine Schönheit ❤❤❤
An alle die großartiges erhalten. Danke schön ✌🏻👍🏻 (Sie ist ein Star. Und das ist gut so.)
I love this
This Is beautiful 🫀
Genial schön🤩
Very sinister looking aircraft.
Super! ❤
If you reckon a Spit Stang sounds good play this loud. Superb. Beautiful.
Ausgezeichnet!
Brave men of the Luftwaffe who tried to save Europa from the Bolsheiviks. Adolf Galland was an epic pilot. Wilhelm Klink...not so much! Wonderful plane and sound.
Built many Airfix versions as a kid.
German intelligence, German ingenuity, German culture, German fortitude,…no one else did these things,….
That g6 has some horsepower..looks like an excellent restore.
The airframe is mostly a new high quality build.
@@PaddyPatrone Wow, almost like a kit plane, now that's cool.
Music 🎶 🎵 via a 109
Geiles flugzeug und der saund
Exquisite.
Years ago I had a soundtrack of Black 6 I would jack it into my amplifier and the cats would run for their lives!!
What a plane
Ein Hoch auf Daimler-Benz.
Gefällt mir, PaddyPatrone!
So geil
If they’d had access to the High Octane fuel it would have been game over, big fuel injection DB605 and the BMW 801..
Favorite prop aircraft in War Thunder. Do you think they'd get you a recording from the interior?
I don`t know about warthunder, but DCS got my recordings. So the Sound of the BF109 in DCS is made from the footage you see here.
@@PaddyPatrone Guess I'll go check that out.
Beautiful machine. But not in my rear view mirror.
This might sound like heresy but I prefer the sound of the Daimler-Benz DB 605 over that of the Rolls Royce Merlin.
Amazing that it was designed to run on only 87 octane fuel, which is what my 2.3 liter Honda runs on.
The sound made some people quickly take cover 😂
❤
Geil

Where do I go to see this in person?
Imagine such a powerful engine running on only 87 octane fuel generating 1,474 hp at only 2800 rpm. It's the same octane fuel a Honda 2.3 liter VTEK engine uses to generate 150hp @ 5,400rpm.
They operate them with 100LL Avgas nowadays
Yes and designed for the low octane fuel available back then.@@PaddyPatrone
what a trully masterpiece of plane, shame about the horrible things she did
......2-sides of a medal - many 109 killed Bombers and saved the lifes of woman and children in our cities. Not enough to protect Dresden and other cities against the civilian-killers.
Best in class for all times....no other militaty fighter model was and will be more successfull.
This plane isn’t historically correct without the swastika on the tail.
It wouldn’t be allowed to fly in Germany with it on, surely it’s better to ignore specifics and just let it fly?
The past is past. Show authenticity
@@fredbody348we germans really don't want to see some people marching with swastika flags through our streets, and that's reason enough to ban the swastika. As you can see, the plane flies very well even without.
I dont like seeing aircraft that are airworthy-or could be airworthy, languishing in a museum. They belong in the air by QUALIFIED pilots. Thats where they belong IMO. This example is exceptional.
👍
Keine Kapriolen Rüdiger!!
Our men way back in WW2 in both the B-17/24 bomber crews hated to face and fight these nasty airplanes and many of our bombers were lost in the many raids that came to hit GERMANY then,
Stay in Regensburg ...😊😊
The last version me 109 g 14 635 kmh engine Daimler Benz 1800 hp
Last version of 109 was K-4.
@@Juno58 ah all right thank you very much the information
Actually the g10 is before the g14, the g14 is just an g6 with some improvements of the g10, so not real more modern g10.
Is this the model that Hans Joachim Marseille flew in his final flight
No, he flew a G-2 on his final flight... Word has it, he was reluctant to give up the F-4's he'd been flying and hadn't flown in the G-2 much at that point. The plane's engine "ate itself", causing a lot of oil loss/fire and he died when bailing out of the aircraft. I would have been interesting to see what he would have done had he lived.

Love all WW2 fighters Both sides . Ultimate flying machines that period . Always a bit of exhaust haze DB engine , oil or mixture ?
Gasoline may smoke even with correct mixture if fuel direct injection is used. Yes, DB605 had no carburator.
109 always looked predatory to me. Very shark like body
Der ultimative Killer.
I love this plane, it's, that it's too old, to be usefull in the Bundeswehr...
Noone uses ww2 warbirds in todays airforces
@@PaddyPatrone I know, as I sayd, they are way too weak, to slow and too visible (too old)...
Im working in the Bundeswehr, so I talked just about the german airforce.
It's clear, that these WW2 plains are'nt used in any airforce anymore. But it's sad, because they are way more beautiful, than the modern plains...
Hallo fur alles.
Das ist die Richtige!!!! Ne die Flugzeug mit Hispano-Suiza Motor.

I prefer the mighty SPITFIRE as seen in the 1944 war movie set in the town of Chillingbourne. 🎥
The Mk I - IV with the Merlin's were my favorite. I feel the later variants there were too many changes and the addition of the Griffon it was a different plane. A testiment to R.J. Mitchell's brilliant design. In my mind it's the most attractive fighter of WWII
nerfed in every sim because of massive mad, check out list of ww2 aces, ahahaha, stay mad, don't care
