I remember being 14 years old in 1978,and being on a camping trip…We had a radio hanging from the ceiling of this old, huge WWII era Army tent….about 3 0’clock in the morning Eruption/You Really Got Me came blasting out of that radio….I had never heard of Van Halen, and I remember sitting straight up and staring at that radio in amazement at what I was hearing….it was Thunder and Lightning coming out of those speakers…Is that a guitar?…Who is that ?….Nothing at that point sounded like that…The impact that had me was immeasurable….and the rest of the world for decades to come….Hard to overstate how that changed everything forever…..That music is still great today..40 years later we are still learning and enjoying these riffs..

I think IR’s are really the key. I have a couple Friedman IR’s that are in stereo .. I record stereo. I set the proximity settings a little more roomy sounding. And use a different IR left and right. It expands the sounds. The IR and proximity settings seems to be the magic sauce for me.
