  • We follow 2 Rifles, one of the British Army's light infantry regiments as they deploy on Exercise Askari Storm in Kenya. The focus of this video, will be an experimentation phase, in which 2 Rifles will be trialing civilian vehicles to see just how agile a modern infantry force can be.
    As their training progresses, we hear from Riflemen, Platoon Commanders and the OC to determine how they are finding their new environment.
    The training culminates in a Company level dawn raid on an enemy position.
    Join Darren and Joe as they navigate 21st century soldiering in extreme heat, while getting all the best views thanks to the RAF and their trusty Puma helicopters.
    In part 2, we follow the troops as they under go a SERE package - Survive, evade, resist and escape...

    Skills here are the same sort of contact drills that were taught part of the northern Ireland training. Skills that were lost with the newer generation that haven't deployed to the province.
    Skills that should be taught and practiced in phase 2 training making the British soldier more versatile in fighting. Not just infantry but all aspects of the military in my opinion.

    think this is clear evidence of how good the British military really is, that 2 Rifles, a normal (no disrespect) infantry regiment is able to seriously hold their own with Kenyan special forces. Kenyan special forces aren't amateurs either, they've had pretty extensive training by tier one SF units like the SAS/SBS. Even though the UK military is miserably underfunded, the training is still second to none.

    Not really the correct weapons for a vehicle security detail, THE SA80 was clumsy enough let alone if you had a stoppage while debussing, that was half the problem with the British military, they favoured equipment suppliers regardless of any function issues or quality, and the release of funds was way too drawn out, I mean operations used UK special forces, but our force was limited due to a lack of night vision equipment,... pretty sad , I hope it got better since I tested the first version of the SA80 way back in 1985 that's showing how old that weapon is regardless of a HK revamp, best of luck guys

    • @BFBSCreative
      @BFBSCreative  2 года назад +4

      Hey 👋 Joe here. I did ask the OC about this as I was also curious. He told me the troops receive a mandatory briefing upon arrival in country detailing how to react to those exact situations. Teams are also sent out to clear areas before training takes place to minimise the risk of human/ wildlife conflict and a lot of time is spent picking up spent rounds or ‘brass’ at the end to minimise the footprint. Incidents do however still occur and there is definitely always a risk of walking up on a lion or other dangerous creature. Then I guess you just have to be faster than the slowest man 🏃‍♂️🦁

    Smfh that British rifle so the worst rifle in the world. Every British soldier I’ve spoken to or seen videos of talking about it hates it!!! Bullpup rifles in the confines of a car seems like a nightmare and the UK government just keeps the same rifle with 98% of soldiers hating it

    • @tomstravels520
      @tomstravels520 Год назад +2

      Have you ever fired it yourself? Have you spoken to every single person in the armed forces? I reckon that 98% was based on just a couple of people. A bull pup in a vehicle actually still works better than a car one because you retain the longer range than a carbine. Imagine if it was an M16 and how much of a struggle that would be. The rifle is extremely reliable and even more accurate in its A3 version. It’s only main disadvantage is the weight. Left handed people adapt quickly

      @@tomstravels520 I’m speaking manly on the reload and the facts the actions need to reload effectively. The magazines position makes a problem. And yes I’ve fired one. It’s very on unintuitive in my opinion.

      @@tomstravels520 the fact that with AR type platform doesn’t require me to drop my whole firing stance and grip to reload it in itself makes it superior to the bull pup style. You can’t reload a bull pup with out un shouldering it🤷🏻

Of coarse their gear always better, apparently they dont bust when falling off pedastools, he must be still living in the the late 90's when the SA80 was gash untill hekler and koch got there hands on em, anyway if MOD was to do re shuffle they should fit em out with 401's or the canuck version of M4 defo not money in their pockets for taking the piss and thinking they know everything..
