I’ve had 14 bikes over the last 45 years. Third one was my first litre bike. Buy them and ride the shit out of em while your body can fold up like a pretzel. Over the years I worked my way down in cc. Now my Tuono 660 factory is all this 64 yr old needs. Lol
Oh, fear not, there are plenty of liter bikes out there now that don't require pretzeling. :) I have a S1000XR, it's very comfortable for long rides, even with a blown out L4/L5 like all us old guys seem to have. Same engine as a S1000R, just a diffferent tune. It's a monster.

I’m all about the pure liter bike lifestyle (2020zx10). I’m so used to it doesn’t even feel like a crotch rocket to me anymore. Also the occasional track day makes it all worth it
@@Sibert_ I had a ninja650 before the ZX and that was a massive difference in ergonomics. you totally get used to it after a few weeks tho. I'm not trying to drive more than an hour or two at a time tho.
More power ! I am 61 years old , have been riding for 45 years and and still dreaming of a used H2SX SE. My Concours 14 has been great for 10 years , but I still want to have some fun. Thank you for your very entertaining videos. Ride safe.
The problem with a concours is you don’t have many other options to best it that are practical!! I’m kinda in that boat too. Am thinking of a 750 for flicking in the twisties for fun.
Liter bikes are somewhat like a Hellcat engine compared to a BMW M3 engine. I personally like how most liter bikes tend to be not as “high strung” compared to 750’s and 600’s. My Bimota YB6 EXUP (has a FZR1000 engine) cruises at only 3000 rpm at typical highway speeds.
I’ve been riding since 1977 and have owned about 20 bikes but my fav of them all is my 2004 GSXR600 which I find perfect for the street. I love the riding position because it keeps your core strong if you do it right as well as the power band. It’s more then anyone could ever need on the road. My 2nd fav is the 1985 RZ350. I guess you could say I’m the oldest squid ever 😂
How did you find the s1k as your first bike? I’m thinking of getting something bigger than a ninja 400 for my first bike and I’ve heard a lot of people say the s1000 is super easy to ride. Did you have any riding experience before that?
Yam's hatred of the S1000RR is just stupid. I've a ZX-10R, an MT-09 and a S1000RR and the RR is the most fun to ride ever. What he calls boring I call well engineered and, if you are not a track, that's what allows you to do really, really crazy things on a bike and live to tell about it. To be honest, 2nd - 3rd gear at 10K RPM was one of the most incredible adrenaline rushes ever.... My back is too old to ride hunched over like that, but it was the best bike....my MT-09SP that I traded down to feels like a scooter by comparison.
I tried an Aprilia Tuono V4 a few weeks ago and I was left in absolute awe of the machine. It lifted my front wheel in 230 kph in 5th... I immediately wanted one, but honestly, riding my KTM 790 Duke lets me use all the gears and is super quick and agile, it's absolutely made for twisties. I love going into a curve and quick-shifting down 2 gears to stay in the proper revs, feeling the rear wheel move a little, etc. I feel like the Tuono would just feel too much of a bike for the twisty roads I love to do. Like I wouldn't need another gear, wouldn't matter what riding mode I'm in, whatever. It's just too refined. But I absolutely get why people have them. And this is not even a proper sports bike.
i absolutely agree.. you have to overdo it quite a bit to use some of the potential of a liter bike which i have for track use but for twisties i have a ducati 848 evo with lots uf upgrades and it pushes around 140hp i guess. and even restricted with 35kw i smoke like 90% of the riders in black forest germany. you dont need that much power to be quick :D and it always feels nice as you say to be able to push the bike
@@fs5866 Well, suddenly a stretch of road that has appeared flat for the entirety of my life became a crest... The front wheel was in the air for sure, but not by much obviously. I'm not lying in the least.
Sold my 21‘ 1290 Super Duke R last month for a Brand new Tuono v4 1100 Factory and it is Great but the 1290 Super Duke R is on another Level when it comes to pure power and torque
I went from my CBR500R to a 2008 CBR1000RR… quite a difference but at the end of the day, a bike is a bike - litre bikes just pull in any gear and some people want that rather than having to rev out a smaller engine.
How long did it take you to get confident riding your 1000RR? I have a 4RR I’ve been riding for two months. My plan is to learn how to ride for one riding season, then upgrade to a S1K. Only reason I’m debating is because I heard if you put it in rain mode, it’ll bump it down to 130HP which is similar to a 600cc
@@tiger2q a 4rr is a great bike to get used to sports bikes on. Going from anything less than a 600 to a 1000cc is always going to be a big jump, there’s guys on 600s who get scared on 1000s but it really depends what you are like. If you gradually get used to revving a 1000 out and learn bit by bit you’ll be okay, if you have no self control you’ll potentially die. If you’re unsure at all - I would go to a 600 first as it wouldn’t disappoint and is more realistic to get used to.
I just got my first litre bike after a decade on two different ZX636R´s. I bought a KTM super duke 990. which is a 999cc V Twin. I gotta say, Im in freaking love with this bike. I bought a 2005 model which has no bells and whistles, no fancy ride modes or ABS, just pure raw old school biking goodness. Its just as nimble in the twisties as the 636's Ive owned but at high speeds is somewhat terrifying. 100mph really feels like 100mph as the wind drag is something that you dont get with the aerodynamics of the sport bikes. Also it purrs like a kitten at 70mph on the highway. Im in freaking love.
Going from a ST675R to a full size 2019 Suzuki Katana I can attest that litre bikes are on another level. After riding it for about three months I took a friend’s triple for a ride and it felt like riding a bicycle. Truly scary stuff man.
I’ve had plenty of miles on both a 600rr and fz1. They both have a special place in my heart. Between the two (or modern day equivalent) I would go with something like the 1000sx. Power is easily accessible. And the riding position is a little more friendly for the street.
I jumped straight to a liter bike with no previous riding experience. No dirt bikes no four wheelers. After a month I was bored, started upgrading. Moore Mafia Flash, Akrapovic full system, Carbon smith velocity stacks, Graves block offs, Brock’s ceramic bearings, -1 -1 sprockets 520 RK 1200 chain. Only owned it for a year with 16.8k miles. You can start on a bigger bike if you understand an respect what it can do
I had a letter to Motorcyclist published about 2004 with the same sentiment. The editors disagreed with me, but the point was to respect how much power whether it is 600/750/1000 all of them are lethal if you do not respect them, and with the right attitude having 150 hp is OK.
Yeah I wasted a lot of money doing the 600rr to 750, back to Honda 1000RR. I should have skipped the 750 I didn’t like that bike much. Honda is just my fit.
@@LucaHornsby I no joke was driving down the highway by that age, but my grandpa was operating the foot pedals because obviously I wasn't tall enough (which means I was probably speeding, because one of his mottos was "I don't drive for fuel economy, I drive to get there", also he was burned when he was a small child so he didn't have much feeling in his legs or feet so he was usually full gas or full brakes, sometimes both at the same time because again he didn't have much feeling in his legs).
As someone who owns both a Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP2 and a Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP I feel I can compare the two. Both are insanely fast, though the Fireblade would absolutely walk away from the Streetfighter in a straight line race. The Streetfighter is WAY more comfortable, I've ridden it for 8+ hours at a time, it's super flickable and just evokes hooligan vibes every time I swing a leg. The Fireblade on the other hand has the handling of a well sorted race machine, has seriously committed ergonomics, and after 8 hours on it my hips are killing me. All that being said, both bikes will let you warp space and time with nothing but your right wrist. The V4 sings the choir of gods and the Fireblade is just an absolute unit of a machine that wants to melt my face and get me arrested just for looking at it.
My first liter bike i've ridden was a k5 gsx-r 1000...man that was an crazy experience..that was about 14years ago.. .(i've been riding everything with 2 wheels since i was 13..smaller capacities) but that k5 changed everything
Been rockin my s1000 for over a decade now. Still love it. I do want the handlebar warmers and cruise control. That 4k vibration cuts right into my bones.
My ZX14R is perfect for the streets and has 113 ft lbs of torque. It's comfortable, to me it looks good, and on the highway, it makes you feel like a king. I wouldn't mind an MT-10, maybe next year. Most of the people who ride 600cc Supersport motorcycles in my area, plan on moving up to liters, one person who I rode with promptly was nearly killed after getting a used R1, the power is definitely a rush, I could ride my ZX14R just on the freeway and be content although I take it out into the twisties where it doesn't do too bad.
Just got my Kawasaki ninja 1000 sx. Its a 2018. I jumped from a ktm duke 390. I was suprised how nervious I am on this bike. I think its just the size. My duke was so small. . Love the bike. Just waiting to be comfortable on it like I was on my previous bike.
Going from an r6 to r1 I have to say the r1 is much easier to ride in the city when it ain’t hot out and I ride it more responsibly. Puts the fear of God in you.
Thank you for including Tarrare at the end of the vid, his story is one of my favorites from history lol For those who want to know more, he eventually joined the French Revolutionary Army and his unique ability was used to smuggle vital information past enemy lines. He was given a letter in a small wooden box to eat, and after reaching the point of delivery the box was then retrieved from his excrement. He was eventually admitted to a mental institution where they would attempt to cure him, until he literally ATE A 14 MONTH CHILD... and then they exiled him.
I agree. My Gen 2 Busa is my first bike. Everyone said I would die, but I would have physically been unable to get onto a 300-700cc bike comfortably. Being older and having a healthy respect for her ability to kill me. I daily ride her in full gear, even in this 105° Texas heat.
Doesnt matter that you dont need the full power of a liter bike on the road…the acceleration/getup cannot be replicated in a 600 or lower. And trust me…that shit matters in fun factor
As a rider and motorcycle mechanic for over 40 years now I love your content and the information given. I'm 61 now and have just sold my 2008 Buell 1125R in favor of a 2023 SV 650. I still get the sweet sound of a modern Sport V-Twin and great handling but much better ergonomics for my aging body. I totally agree with the message in this video about litre bikes and their allure but in practicality they're waaay too overpowered for 99% of us riders, It's dangerous enough out there without having to contend with the hyperspeeds these bikes are capable of without a complete understanding of counter-steering and braking. That being said...be careful out there ; )
I bought a liter bike for my first bike back in 1983. I respected the bike and got lucky to not ever have an accident. I wouldn't rec 3:59 ommend a 1000 cc bike for a beginner though... Suzuki GS 1000S.
I had an '08 CBR1000rr, and unexpectedly traded it in for a '19 Ninja 1000sx during covid, and I gotta say I'm a lot happier. 85% of the performance, and I can ride it all day.
I started on a yamaha RSX 100 about 25 years ago and worked my way up through the years. Gotta say Im super glad I started on that little bike when I was 17 as I had numerous mishaps due to inexperience that would have left me dead or maimed if I was on a bigger bike. Currently 41 years old and rocking a Super Duke 990
I have had V-Strom 1000 and V-Strom 650. The 1000 is actualy easier in city traffic, because the hydraulic clutch take less effort than the cable-operated clutch on the 650. Both of them could do very high speeds out of town, more than I ever needed. The 1000 had problems with the helium-filled front tyre in first and second gears, though.
My dad wanted to upgrade. He sold me his 2012 ZX14 with full bolt ons for $3000. first time on a motorcycle outside of the Honda 300R I rode when I took my motorcycle class. Personally, I don't think 1000cc or 1400s are too much for a beginner. You can easily start on these types of bikes with self control. My dad always told me growing up, "1000s are like guns". IMHO, 1000s, big liter sport bikes are bragging rights more than anything. You can never really use this kind of power on the street, without getting in huge trouble.
At 61 yo I’ve considered a street fighter but I just can’t give up my Ducati 1098 that I’ve clocked over 40k miles on. Too much fun to be had with just a twist of the wrist!
Cb650R one of the best bikes I have ever owned. Pushing it to its Max is viable fun, and one of the best handling bikes I have rode. Loved my cbr1000rr but there is a reason. I would rather have the cb650r. As Sir Noob says you really don't need 1000 cc.
Love the channel. I owned a 2008 ZX10 and that bike kicked my ass on a daily basis but I’m more a street squid than a track one. Loving the modern nakeds.
This was a hell of a fine produced video. Bravo Papa Yam. Why do I have a hankering for a classic Kawasaki 1000 with a Kerker four into one, bright chrome exhaust echoing off the hills. Mad Max lives.
I traded in my 2018 Versys 650 for a 2023 1000sx 4k miles ago. Love the 1000sx but wish I still had both bikes (can't afford that). Yammie talks bad about the Versys but I disagree, it was a great bike,,, I had to trade it in because it was rebuilt after a wreck and then got flooded and repaired again but it was never the same, it was like... anemic, didn't want to go to full power... I miss her though... going weird places, up down curbs and stairs and it would always do little mini wheelies when leaving red lights,,, it way sicker than Yammie makes them out to be. The 1000sx has a traction nanny that keeps me feeling "mature and responsible" out there. All in all though,,, I love them both.
I have been riding for over 30 years starting with dirt bikes and then street bikes. Ive had a Harley sporty 1200, kawi 636(say la vie), suki 750rr, etc etc and now a Triumph street twin, I have never seen a need for liter bikes. they’re nice but, they’re heavier, slower in all twists and they get worse fuel mileage than a volvo suv… they sound great but, other than for track days, I don’t see their real purpose . just my opinion i think they’re beautiful and technologically advanced but, idk there are better options..
I’ve got a 2022 Suzuki GSXS1000 and I love how comfortable it is. Also had the SX1000 , would get another one miss a readable display and the electronic cruise and fairings. Last one got wrecked by a deer, I did die temporarily it sucked)
I'm still rocking a 2015 MV Agusta F4. It brings a smile to my face, I live in Australia and there aren't that many about, so I've seen it bring a smile to passer buys as well.
I bought the Suzuki GSX 8R a month ago, even put the full Akrapovic exhaust on it, got the ecu flashed by TST Industries. I sold it back to the dealership and got the Ninja ZX10R. For over 20 years I’ve had multiple CBRs, but today, I wanted something more! In Louisville KY where I’m at there’s not any tracks close to here, but I want to get into track days with this bike :)
I've got a 09 zx10r from a 2001 KTM620cc supermoto, mental difference but ya know we out here pushing boundaries

i rode many different liter bikes and settled on a 2008 Yamaha FZ 1. Turned out to be the most comfortable good performance and great looking bike. Swapped out the exhaust and added a lower fairing. Enjoyed that bike for 35,000 miles without a problem . Yamaha is very well built and easy to work on. Helped a friend with a Honda cbr1000 and the faring plastics were terrible to work with. Im a Yamaha fan for sure...FZ1 was an Awesome ride!!
I bought my first street bike 5 months ago, a KTM 390 ADV. A couple weeks later I bought a Ducati SCRAMBLER 803 cc air cooled. Lots of fun. A couple weeks later I bought a Ducati Diavel 1260S. Ooh Laa Laa..... the torque and the power curve of that engine are addicting. The key to riding ANY motorcycle is to first learn how to control the throttle and how to control the clutch. I learned about 15 years ago by riding single track dirt trail in the desert around Phoenix for 4 years. Once you master the clutch and throttle, no bike is dangerous or intimidating to ride.
When the triple R Fireblade came out, 650ib raced it against his V4R and the stock bike smoked the slightly modded Ducati. And mind you, it was his friend who piloted the CBR, he rides his own vehicles. 650ib is an established drag racer and track junkie while his friend may not be. Anyways, the Ducati lost in acceleration from from the low end and got smoked in gears 4-6. The Triple R Fireblade also beat his H2 (not his drag H2, his other slightly modified H2) through several launches until 1 good launch wherein it took a while for the H2 to overtake the Honda. To add on that, the US released Triple R is electronically rev and HP limited to comply with noise standards. The Triple R Fireblade also beat a Gen 2 and Gen 3 Hayabusa, albeit both were unmodded and was conducted by another content creator. WSBK Honda suffers from electronics issues and lack of rider talent and retainment. While WSBK supposedly bases their bikes off production bikes, the level of modification may as well make them prototype homologations. Look at the Yamaha WSBK and see how much WSBK are modified. BSB and other Superstock leagues see Fireblade domination and the Isle of Man TT was dominated by as much as 8/10 Hondas in recent years. Laptime records are being broken and rider feedback is beyond positive. The Triple R simply shines the closer it is to stock.
Brilliant video Man, information overload right on Queue and fantastically executed, it was like having a quick shifter, bang next gear, bang next gear etc fantastic ❤❤
I have a Triumph sprint ST 1050, 06 reg. I've had it over 13 yrs now and i find it's just right for me, commuting for work ALL yr round, trips out or just to the shops n back. it can be steady/gentle riding or a blast if i feel like it, nowt wrong with a big engine! : ))
It depends on previous experience! 1000 cc fits me perfect….. First bike I got was a k1 Gixxer, A year later 1000rr hp4 for the track…. Love em…but demands respect…
Worked my way up started with a MT07 (700cc) then MT09SP (900cc) and my First Liter Bike S1000r with came with 22 years After that the 1290 Super Duke R came and I kept it the longest for Like 3 years After replacing it for a smaller cc Bike a 23‘ Tuono V4 Factory 1100cc
Honestly I think that a 1000 makes more sense on the street than a 600 simply because of the torque and low and mid range power 🫠 I have a zx10r as my daily 😅
i have ridden cruisers my entire life. today i got on a 2007 honda vfr 800cc holy shit was it a different experience. now i know its nothing compared to what is out there these days but it hauled ass. having said that, i had zero issues with it. really enjoyed my test ride. once i got aclimated to the riding position it was smooth sailing. i think the issue is people who havent ridden and dont have a concept of how to feel out the clutch and throttle is the main issue. someone with experience and respect for bikes could easily hop on a 1000cc and ride with no issue. and i stand by that, you can feel when that front tire is wanting to lift up. back off. you dont just jump on a bike, rev the piss out of it and dump the clutch.
I watch these all the time I still love my 07 ZX10R that I bought to daily an hour one way to work every day. It's such a blast to ride. I want to buy a Rocket 3 soon. Only thing better than 1 liter would be 2
Saying a liter bike is too much for the street is the same as saying a v8 corvette or mustang is too much for the street. Sure, you’re not gonna use everything it’s got and push it to its potential, but doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ride/drive one
Had a gen 2 and gen 3 mt09, a gsxs gt for a few months, now hove a 2004 fireblade and absolutely love it, and riding position isn't half as bad as modern litre bikes
Have a Streetfighter 848 and Street Triple 765 R. Also have a Vespa GTS. Love em all. I don't feel any need or desire for a liter bike. Would like to try one out one day though.
Nice work, had litre rockets for years. - on track days they make sense and about the right power but on the road, especially with the latest 200 bhp bikes there to much but still you gotta have them. Currently got a V4R and Zx10R.
My first street bike was a GSXR1000 and I loved the ease the torque offered . Super easy to drive . With that said ; Yes it very easily will put you over 150mph . You just need to be an adult
BMW S1000RR best bike ever built. You'll never hear an S1K owner say, 'I wish this bike was difficult to ride fast'. 😆 By the way, BMW destroyed all other bikes, all season long this year in WSBK.
G'afternoon ☕☕ 🤠 . I'm an 80's kid & a bike junkie. I've ridden & owned more bikes over the last 30+ yrs than car's & trucks 10 fold. I had an 07' YZF-R1p I rode for 3 seasons & I loved it b4 I went back to cruisers & my 01' Roadstar XV-1600A 98" Thumper 🙃 ..
I’ve thought about it. I can ride that frame geometry backwards. (Oh quick shift. I’d rather die. Ok, we can accommodate.) I can operate crossplane twins on mangled roads, more common to me than clean tracks. And my super ten strokes me rather nicely when her t7 sister doesn’t.
My teachers were Freddy Spencer. Eddie Lawson, Kevin Shwanzte etc:) 1st rule: Respect the craft that you love. In return, she will love you back:) I still want to ride just for once in my lifetime, the TT:)
Took me years to realize that something else might be more fun on the street. Got a 23 Tuono V4 Factory and I will NEVER go back to a I-4 superbike for street riding. More comfortable on a naked bike and those class of bikes are more than fast enough.
Sport touring bikes are all fun and games but you’ll always lust after the liter bike. My first bike was an r1 I’ve owned 5 other bikes since, and still find myself missing the rush of speed but married life has made it so it’s not with the fight to have one lol
I rode plenty of bikes before my first bike, but my actual first motorcycle was a 2007 CBR 1000. I’ll be honest, 90% of the issue with liter bikes isn’t with the bike itself, rather the riders. Most people don’t have what it takes to have that much power available to them, and maintain a level of self control. In order to achieve that level of power in a car, you need a lot more money, so a liter bike is the only way a younger, more hotheaded guy can obtain such power. So from a guy who started on a liter bike, it’s more about personality and self-control, than it is about riding ability. IMO, 90% of bikes ride pretty much the same, just at varying degrees of intensity.
I test rode the Versys 1000 and i almost bought it, that engine felt awesome! imo 100-120hp and 100Nm of torque is the sweet spot for touring and everyday riding. In the end i went for NT1100 from Honda, because i got a really good deal on it brand new also it has better wind protection (i'm a tall dude), i'm very happy with it. I miss the 4 cylinder engine that Versys had... but maybe i'll trade in my honda and get the 1000SX in a year or two? who knows :D
My First Bike was a Ninja 626 my Next was a Yamaha R6 and then a Yamaha R1 then got on a Honda CBR600RR and fell in love with it I would like to Try a CBR1000RR at some Point
First bike in highschool ( other than dirt bikes) was a Kawasaki ltd 454, then a Suzuki intruder 700, Yamaha vmax1200, honda vtx1300, Yamaha vstar 1100, Honda Blackbird, Yamaha r1, triumph rocket 3, Suzuki Hayabusa, and now a Kawasaki klr. Next bike will be a adventure bike, ktm 1290. I'm thinking each bike correlates with the phases of life somehow
Had a ZX6R, switched to an RS660 now got an F3RC - Next up, F4RR or RSV4 Factory, point being - never will I ever go away from a supersport. I've ridden plenty of hypernakeds and what not, I simply do not enjoy them.
@@pauly1k I mean an S1000RR is like a GSXR 1000 turned all the way to eleven. More power, better brakes, better suspension, much better electronics. Its probably a lot easier to ride fast on track on the BMW. That being said, it will be much more expensive in the long run (servicing premium) as well as a much higher MSRP (so many options on the BMW)
Do yourself a favor and ride them back to back. It's not that the GSX-R isn't capable being blistering fast, but the S1000RR's build quality is on another level.
To compare a gsxr to a bmw what has the world come to 🗿 sure when you tune the sewing machine that is the s1k it might wake up but it’s almost like comparing an iPad to a flip phone all new bikes have tec but when you say gsxr it’s all in the wrist
@@chillwill7401 I wont stand for this GSXR slander put some respect on that GSXR name but really the GSXR 1000 is a great bike. Some would say its great price to performance and reliability. I’m all about the pure liter bike lifestyle (2020zx10). I’m so used to it doesn’t even feel like a crotch rocket to me anymore. Also the occasional track day makes it all worth it
Got ya. I ride a VFR800 vtec and want to upgrade to a liter bike. I don't seem to care too much about the aggressive body position.
@@Sibert_ I had a ninja650 before the ZX and that was a massive difference in ergonomics. you totally get used to it after a few weeks tho. I'm not trying to drive more than an hour or two at a time tho.
the liter bikes in my opinion have a more planted feeling.
More power ! I am 61 years old , have been riding for 45 years and and still dreaming of a used H2SX SE. My Concours 14 has been great for 10 years , but I still want to have some fun. Thank you for your very entertaining videos. Ride safe.
61? Damn man ride safe out there 🏍️💨
The problem with a concours is you don’t have many other options to best it that are practical!! I’m kinda in that boat too. Am thinking of a 750 for flicking in the twisties for fun.
You are right. My 1000 is uncomfortable, will never utilize 5 of the 6 gears, to much power for anyone on a bike. Love it though!
😂 same here
I concur.
Watching this while i'm riding my Yamaha R1.
I don't regret anything lmao
I’ve been riding since 1977 and have owned about 20 bikes but my fav of them all is my 2004 GSXR600 which I find perfect for the street. I love the riding position because it keeps your core strong if you do it right as well as the power band. It’s more then anyone could ever need on the road. My 2nd fav is the 1985 RZ350. I guess you could say I’m the oldest squid ever 😂
Ive been riding since 1895, my fav bike is the bullshido v6 r1 250 motorshitbike.
Got a gen1 S1000RR, first bike, love it and 7k+ miles later I ain’t planning on ever getting rid of it!
How did you find the s1k as your first bike? I’m thinking of getting something bigger than a ninja 400 for my first bike and I’ve heard a lot of people say the s1000 is super easy to ride. Did you have any riding experience before that?
I got one as my second bike, but I was also 32 at the time. It probably shouldn't be your first bike

These videos are the perfect mix of entertaining and informational. So well done.
I like speed just as well, but I prefer street rides over track, so about 600cc is the limit for my pleasure ride on the road 😊
And this is not even a proper sports bike.
curb your feels, brah
i absolutely agree.. you have to overdo it quite a bit to use some of the potential of a liter bike which i have for track use but for twisties i have a ducati 848 evo with lots uf upgrades and it pushes around 140hp i guess. and even restricted with 35kw i smoke like 90% of the riders in black forest germany. you dont need that much power to be quick :D and it always feels nice as you say to be able to push the bike
Nah stop lying, doesn't have the torque to lift your wheel up at 230kmh lol.
Litre bikes are for people who don't want to downshift to get power
@@rocketfludy2873I love downshifting and shifting at 13k 😍
Also goes the other way, some people probably want to rev out a smaller engine and squeeze out every last bit of power from it
How long did it take you to get confident riding your 1000RR?
Lmaoo awesome!
You can start on a bigger bike if you understand an respect what it can do
That's great, man. Sometimes, it is that simple. As long as you respect its power and know your limits, you'll be fine.
@@ColdDream224exactly, just because you can twist the throttle all the way back doesn't mean you should.
Bored after a month lol I dont believe that for a second. Show us how you ride it I'm sure we'll have a nice laugh.

Dude, I know exactly what you mean with that 4k vibration.
Add handlebar risers and a 190/55 for the rear tire. Only good things will ensue
Then swap out the footpegs. Ive got Puig racing pegs and i drag my boots thru the curves and they dont slip/squish in the least
Thanks for helping me decide on a Ninja 1000sx!❤
Thank you for including Tarrare at the end of the vid, his story is one of my favorites from history lol
For those who want to know more, he eventually joined the French Revolutionary Army and his unique ability was used to smuggle vital information past enemy lines.

That being said...be careful out there ; )
this is such an honest spot on video that will only be apparent when you are no longer a nubby

So just a question can everyone choose 1000cc has there first beginner bike?
I have had V-Strom 1000 and V-Strom 650. The 1000 is actualy easier in city traffic, because the hydraulic clutch take less effort than the cable-operated clutch on the 650. Both of them could do very high speeds out of town, more than I ever needed. The 1000 had problems with the helium-filled front tyre in first and second gears, though.
Nothing better than a mid 2000s liter bike for that raw analog experience
Just recently acquired a 02 fz1 as my first bike. Totally amazing.
My dad wanted to upgrade. He sold me his 2012 ZX14 with full bolt ons for $3000.

They're not good if you wanna actually learn how to ride fast

Ive had a Harley sporty 1200, kawi 636(say la vie), suki 750rr, etc etc and now a Triumph street twin, I have never seen a need for liter bikes. they’re nice but, they’re heavier, slower in all twists and they get worse fuel mileage than a volvo suv… they sound great but, other than for track days, I don’t see their real purpose .
just my opinion i think they’re beautiful and technologically advanced but, idk there are better options..

any blade from 08 and up would disagree.
The Triple R simply shines the closer it is to stock.

great history on motorcycles in less than 15 mins ! very interesting
Oh, “liter”, not leader. In my defense, everyone who says liter sounds like they’re saying leader.
Same😂
First bike was an 02 900 ninja,,,,,it was a ridiculously fast fun as hell bike,,,once you go fast the first time it's instantly addictive
I just bought a litre bike and Its awesome. Definitely think 600's are the perfect displacement tho.
I started on a Honda interceptor 1000, when I was 23 now 54 and riding a ninja 400.
I’m on a 2022 Versys 1000. Most comfortable liter bike I’ve ever owned.
I just realized that you’ve been using the term “liter” bike not “leader” bike makes so much sense
I love my Kwaka Z1000, I commute on her all week and tear it up on the weekends.
I've put 10k miles on a gsxr1k since march 16th i enjoy it ❤
The BMW S1000RR is a German GSXR and Yammy is to blind to see it! It’s a fantastic bike who could not love a German GSXR.
This does not help my decision on whether I should buy a s1000rr or a gsxr 1000 😅
Plus it's the quintessential squid bike. I feel that the S1K RR takes the spirit of the GSXR 1k and adds the German refinement and features that is expected of BMW.
