Awesome Video, Thank you soo much, just gotten back on the sticks after many years off. And thank You Unimig for an those amazing well priced welders, had a unimig in the past and just got a new viper 165 kit. Cheers
For MIG welding set up you didn't mention setting the wire spool tension ( for both gas and gas less). It's not mentioned in the user manual either. Too much spool tension and the feed rollers slip, not enough tension and the spool over runs giving a wire tangle.
@@M.Captain no it is not. however You need a twin gauge regulator for more accurate readings of gas output, and if you are tig welding a lot this is very important.
Hey Mate, if you are asking in relation to the Viper 185, the Euro TIG torch is not able to be used on the Viper 185. Here is the link to the Lift arc TIG torch you are looking for unimig.com.au/product/17v-tig-torch/
The devil is in the detail and details are not here. I'm very disapponted with the video and the product itself. It doesn't come with tip wrench. No explanation how to remove the tip. Yeah you can use pliers everywhere but normally people use wrenches instead of pliers. F groove not explained what is this. So you basically need google quite a lot.
Hi, thank you for your feedback. We apologise for any confusion or inconvenience our product may have caused. Your point about the tip wrench is noted, and we are looking into addressing this issue. Please be assured that we take all suggestions seriously and are considering the inclusion of a tip wrench in future versions of our product. Regarding the F groove, it is designed for flux-cored wires, a detail we should have made clearer.

Thanks for the comment and review!
Brilliant
Do you need arm tats to operate this machine?
3:50 ya upgradin' ned kelly's armour mate??
absolutely brilliant video
Good video, just bought a 182 and this leaves the lousy instructions for dead, very timely for me, thankyou
Great video guys, awsome product👌🏾👍🏾
Just bought a setup, looking forward to learning to weld.
Looking forward to my 185 kit arriving, hopefully soon, now at 18 days since ordering, delays caused by courier companies.
Do you have to remove the polarity cable when you stick weld?
Cant see why they cant set a screw connection for the gas in let , would be far more easy ?

Thankyou, that overrun was pushing me off
Do i need a different gas regulator for mig and tig??
We would recommend a Argon Flowmeter for TIG and an Argon Regulator for MIG
@@unimigsupport is this mandatory?
@@M.Captain no it is not. however You need a twin gauge regulator for more accurate readings of gas output, and if you are tig welding a lot this is very important.
What size wire would you recommend for gas mig jobs no more than 2.5mm thick mild steel with this unit?
.8 wire will manage everything you are looking to do
Just go with 0.9mm wire, better coverage
.8 or .9 nothing bigger
.9 is my go to
Do you need to change the torch liner if changing between 0.8 and 0.9 wire?
@@gregwilson9035 Looking for this answer myself I just installed .9 wire into my new machine. It come threw the hand piece and works, so not sure.
How about tig torch with euro connector,? No gas coming out from the torch. Any video on how to set it up properly?

Any one use it to do rust repairs on vehicles like around roof panels etc
Dont weld on Ned Kelly's helmet!!
That is a priceless historical artifact!
Shame on you
