Thanks for sharing mate. 👍🏻 I’ve been looking at buying the same kit. I’m a beginner, but also in the middle of rebuilding a couple of ride on mowers into racing mowers 😉. Thanks again!
thanks for showing us your attempts. no need to be embarrassed mate, we all have to start somewhere. I'm going to buy one of these machines and its good to get an idea of what to expect (I have never welded at all)
Good choices of welders mate , I'm not brand biased with anything but unimig have always been great machines and they just get better all the time. Used a lot in panel shops and they last longer than all of them. I'm getting the 230 razor multi process machine. Of course I keep my old ancient pro craft 210. Still welds perfect after 25 years. You will love this machine as much as I love that Xw ha,ha,
Thanks for the video Rob, I just purchased the same welder, only used once so far and it's my first gas set-up so still getting used to it, far better than gassless, cleaner better looking welds, I'm using 6mm wire and getting a big weld which is frustrating when grinding, so I think I need to change a setting or procedure maybe? I will checkout the other channel you recommended. Keep up the good work mate.
Hey mate, I ended up getting 0.9mm wire for mine which will keep the weld profile much lower and save some grinding. Currently testing out the Tig function in mild steel.
Hey Rob I'm currently looking at the 185 Viper and the new Viper 165 Multi with the Synergic function. I was just wondering with the 185 Viper how have you found the guide in the door for the mig welder settings? Is is accurate at all? I've just heard a few people say they have had to dial the settings back as they are too hot and blowing through. I do see that they state its a guide only and will vary with experience and technique.
Yeh I have used the guide as a starting point then done some practise on metal scrap to make adjustments to my liking. Don't think I've ever stayed with the door setting recommendations.
@@robsgarage69xw Thanks mate..Good to know. I spose it all comes down to the person welding it and what the results are to there welding style. Thanks again for the reply and have a great chrissy :)
Looks like you could move along a little faster based on the epic heat penetration, when you keep the blued steel effect consistent depth and colour both sides you are in the zone.
Thanks a lot for sharing. I will get the same machine. Do you like it ? I would appreciate your feedback, so I would go ahead. Cheers from Melbourne 🇦🇺
Yes I like it. I've used the mig function a few times now and still getting used to it but I'm happy with it so far. The main thing to be aware of with this machine is that you can't tig aluminium because you need an ac dc machine to do that and this is dc only. I'm mainly working with mild steel so the tig and mig functions can do that as well as stainless steel. You can mig aluminium though with spool gun. I think you'd be happy with it if that's what you're looking for in a welder.
Pity about all the kiddy graffiti all over the helmet. pizza slices sesame street big bird crap all over it must of been a unwanted give away. dumb idea you got to pay extra for a cleanskin helmet obviously. I guess if it free what the hell. Cool review looking into buying this unit to replace my old inherited Mars

Thanks mate. Great feedback. Very happy with it so far although not used a huge amount. Would love to get an AC DC Tig from Unimig at some point too.
Good job buddy, love the video.
