Thanks for the video! I've always been happy with my purchases from Backwater reptiles too. Good luck with the Nile!
I got my Tokay from Backwater about a year ago and I'm still very satisfied with my order. Affordable, fast and safe. For people saying they disagree with how they're shipped, ask yourselves this; how do animals get to those crappy pet stores? They're shipped there as well.
My experience with Backwater Reptiles has been great and I really appreciate their service and quality! thanks again!
Backwater reptiles is the worst possible place you could order any animal from .
Christian have you ever order anything from them ?
Yes multiple things , I ordered a snake and recievied a American alligator baby . I didn't even know it was possible it was mean and had bite marks and wounds all over it .
Christian Lupton You bought a snake and received an alligator?! Dang, Maybe I should order a snake then! You see, when I mentioned that you can buy an alligator for $150, my Dad said, "You're not buying an alligator". I might not have to "buy" an alligator to get one.
@@FlyTour69 so did you ever buy that mistake of an alligator? Or did you realize what a terrible idea it was lmao
I have sad news, I been away from the videos and have no posted any updates because I split from my ex of 13 years and I had to move to a small apartment, Samson's new home is with an old friend of mine in Florida, he has a enclosure that he can get to go outside in the sun! he is happy! I am planning on getting another one when I can be sure I can have a stable place, I maybe looking to get a green tree boa since MY space is limited! I been sad since this happened So I havent responded to anyone...I was in the process of building an entire room for him before things had to end...
Do you mean green tree python? Or emerald tree boa? I'm not familiar with a green tree boa but that's not to say they don't exist I've just never heard of them. And make sure your friend in Florida knows that Niles are illegal there and to be careful.
Alex Crowder emeralds are sometimes called Greens
kevinLAWLESS420 I am so sorry
+joshua burgos Oh thanks man. I've never heard that before, its good to know. I've had a green tree python before. It's almost unbelievable how similar they look even as hatchlings. Especially since they are so distantly related, one being a python and one a boa. Unreal really.
+Alex Crowder sorry, but what is the difference between a Python and a boa?
Seems to be popular for people to put the baby water and Nile monitors in turtle tanks
You just bought yourself a nightmare on elm street
love the tank setup
beautiful set up
My guys when they where babys loved mealworms and crickets. Very nice tank set up can tell you put a lot of thought into it
by far the best nile monitor setup ive seen
Too many horror stories about BackWater for me to even consider ordering from them.
Pussy
Saitama have you seen any recent horror stories?
God Eater You can send it back for a new one
And half the time they don't even give you what you wanted, you want a monitor go to Olympus reptiles because the cunts at backwater are useless fucks.
That’s why expos are the way to go there fun and some prices are pretty damn good
That's a beautiful little enclosure that you have set up there. As much as I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, however, anyone thinking of duplicating this should know that this kind of setup will quickly become almost IMPOSSIBLE to clean. Monitors defecate a lot, and they often don't care on what or where. They also flat out LOVE destroying things. They dig, knock over plants, crap in the water, bite electrical cords, and did I mention that they dig? With that said, with a large amount of care, one COULD keep a very small monitor in a tank like this for a few months.
I just got a baby Nile from Blackwater started eating right away seems to be getting more chill everyday. Mine is about twice that sized named him Ozzy
Amazing sorry for it being rehoused had great potential and love the paludarium like setup one of the few cases of good Nile monitor care.
thanks, I had the tank and used all stuff I had from older purchases, I build a base under the sand and peat for a water cave, so the land has about 3 gallons of space under the land portion
man you're lucky when I got my Nile monitor out of the bag it lached onto my thumb and wouldn't let go
I bought my first nile and he went back to the shop I got it at the same day lol
you're so sad
amazing set up
good luck with your future
nice monitor and tank! probably the nicest tank I've ever seen.
Sounds awesome; keep up the good work and updating!
that's a nice tank set up
thanks
I am going to try and get updates this week!
Very nice tank
very nice enclosure
That’s one of the dopest tanks I’ve seen
Before long, you will have to get a much larger enclosure due to the Nile Monitor is the largest lizard in Africa reaching up to 8 ft ....
I Don't Have A Tank For Mine :D I Keep Him In My Bed Room But I Do Have A Big Cage I built For Him He Gos In A lot But I Keep His Cage Open When He Wants To Come In And Out :P
*6 feet*
Yo this set up is Beyond dope asf
Amazing tank bro 👍
dang dude you got a killer set up for him
Amazing cage
it was actually pretty good..he was very happy
thank you, yea, i am planning a very large 8 by 4 by 8 enclosure with a cave entrance to a pond i'm going to make in the basement...I cant wait!
That's a sick set up dude!! Great job and good luck with him! Do you think you can do a care video for him? Plz maybe thx!
I'm not too crazy about any kind of monitor. But he's cute. Love the set up. Really really cool. I bet he loves it too! :D
Nice tank
Nicole H thx
I had great experience with them, everything was great and is doing very well..very nice color, very healthy...I'm sorry you had a bad thing happen, i'm am pretty far from them and was very quick delivery...things do happen during shipping, but hpe things work out for you
Same I have a 4' Java, Handle it everyday but he's still pretty aggressive.
omg they are so cute
what a beauty
nice tank
Must be joking!!!!! A nile is 5 feet with 3 feet of tail, while a water monitor is massive (80-90 pounds) and over 4 feet of body! This guy made a great decision.
Cool Monitor......
i personally like backwater. some of my friends ordered from them and gave good reviews. by the way nice monitor, i hope hes very healthy.
he loves to swim, and rest in the water on hot days, he looks like a alligator when in water, its sweet! TY
My water monitors came from them n they was fine n I order them back in April of 2019 n it's now November 2019 n they are growing great n they came from them friendly when I got them n I ordered a Male n female from them but I'll order from them again
thank you
I'll post a new video, I added more climbing trees and plants
wow nice setup! :)
thank you very much!, check out the latest video
nice cage
I think this is the best set tank Ive ever seen. Are plants live as well?
I like the set up ...wondering how keep the water to one side of tank
Cool vid
Sorry for your breakup but I have a questionHow do I make my enclosure like this
Backwater Reptiles in my experience are the best of the best.
awesome lizard bro
Very nice tank I want a savanna monitor what do I need sand grass or a bit of water that I can refill when it drinks all of it
I use a waterfall filter and have some live plants
sweet tank, love it! how much did it cost you to make it?
Very nice nile. I've had some pretty terrible experiences with Black Water though...
I wonder how good it feels to the lizard to go from being in a dark, not quite warm enough box getting shaken around to then suddenly being pulled out and put in a safe, comfy terrarium with water, the perfect temperatures, and food?
the tank is in progress, I have added more mosses and bark chips, looks good now! I will be posting more videos soon! thanks everyone!
Cage looks good bro. I will have to agree with the others though;if you actually take care of him right, which im sure you do a great job, than he'll outgrow that shit within a year. I look forward in seeing your cage updates, and if you want, you can look at my cage and beast!
The owner of it posted that this would be good for at least 2 years I don't think he did any research on the growth of Nile monitors. Shit this is barely enough for that baby. I'm more of writing this for potential people watching this in the future. do your research people
I got nile monitor lizards and got both tame and nasty grown adults, my advice is hnadle then least few minutes every other day till become big, if cant be bothered to hold them every ohter day and leave tehn for monhs unhandled make it must harder to tame but tame or not I got passion for nile monitor lizards
what did you use for the substrate below the soil?
I had one for over 2 years, he will be fine in this tank for that long, and will have alot of space, I know they get up to 6-8 feet sometimes, I will have everything under control, I'm build a room for him this year anyway, even though I know he will be more than happy here for at least 2 years
People of the future do your research this is bad information
@@blacksheepnomad9000 hey dumbass did you check the fucking date of the video...go back to eating tide pods. the plan was to have an entire room, now mind your fucking business loser
@@blacksheepnomad9000 your an idiot, you can stay off my channel as well...jack ass
@@blacksheepnomad9000 people of the future dont pay any attention to rejects that have no concept of what reading and understanding the entire information at hand....and dont eat tide pods....black sheep are the result
@@PeterParkerWebslinger3Read your own comment it says he'll be happy there for 2 years. For a Nile monitor that is nowhere near enough room. What you were planning would be more ideal. I'm focusing on the fact that you said you could keep him in a 100 gallon fish tank for two years! That's bad information man.
I dont see why not, i do not think they like water like the Nile, but as long as you have a really large amount of digging space and cover all the needs of a savanna, I think you could add a water spot for them...Just my thoughts< i may get yelled at but I think it could work..
gotta watch if they can handle humidity, if not, the no water
That's an ornate nile monitor they look totally different and are smaller!
ooh hes a tiny one. That's a weird shipping method. When I got my Nile he was about 3× bigger and he was inside a plastic container with a wet cloth
You still have the monitor
Um why are there amphibian sinking pellets next to that tank? I believe they were for newts.
thumbs up for that T-Rex skull
good, good very good!
Omg i am so happy that you did not get two reptiles or get a dead reptile.
Back or black it dosent matter... hes doing a nile monitor unboxing video not a shout out to back water reptiles
thanks
Howd you keep the water so clean, and did u wash the sand before anything?
I used to have one, what website did you order from?
You should have went with a water monitor, they tend to be much calmer and a little bigger. Enjoy it.
How big is your tank? what are the dimensions?
so hows ure nile monitor going or did you even know what you was doing
Very gorgeous creature. But sharpen the knife a bit. Thinking of ordering one myself, but so many negative reviews for BackWater Reptiles has kept me from ordering it from them.
RealityIsFantacy I suggest buying 2 to higher the chances
You have been lucky..
Not trying to disagree with anyone, but I have worked with several V. niloticus that have been in the 5' range and a few that got as long as 6'. I have nothing against owning a Nile if you are into bigger lizards and some bites and claws won't spook you, but out of the 10 I worked with I only encountered one that was semi calm. Just my 2 Cents, take it or leave it.
conservsyndicate they tend to be very aggressive
Hes so cute im getting one myself
+Christina Lafferty Just remember they can get up to 7 feet long, and weigh up to 30 pounds.
And if not handled correctly/enough they will get mean as hell. A big boy nile is not something you want to mess with if you haven't built a connection with it. And even then I wouldn't. You'd be better off with a Savannah tbh, unless you want that kind of keeper's challenge.
You're the cutest.
What place did you get it from
He's pretty tame for a Nile
can a savanna monitor have water in the tank
What size tank is that?
How did you do that with the tank?
That's awesome:)
Sweet cage:) but how often do u half to clean it. Or do u not half to:)
i bet cleaning that tank would take a crew of 7 lol.
nice WM and setup btw.
House Very good
I had a Nile Monitor about 10 years ago. Eventually had to give it back to the pet shop after having it for about 3 years, because it never tamed and was very aggressive all the time...so I gave up on it :(
Thats how i feel about my green iguana , he won't tame I'm trying not to give up
well it's a wild animal...so...I don't even know why it is legal for anyone to own or possess them.
Cat and Dogs use to be wild animals. Should it be illegal to own them too? Shut up.
Bit different, theyve been domesticated for a very very long time, these reptiles are not even domesticated yet
@@chloemcintyre4794 someone had to start somewhere
Its backwater reptiles by the way. Im gettin a nile next week
How many gallons is that tank??
Getting a GTP from backwater heard all the bad reviews about them tho hope it goes well 😐
How did it go?
he's going to f-up that whole thing lol they like to dig
do you mean backwater? im ordering one hopefully tonight
How big do they get?
I tried the water thing didn't work lol need a bigger tank I guess
I hope not, I need to set up the cage bigger for him so I can get at him easy, he like his water and hiding,
