How can you recommend a graphics card with very serious fan revving/pulsing issues, that gigabyte is trying their best to sweep under the rug?? Try this. Install aorus engine. Check temps, ensure your card is idle(below 50 degrees C)Turn off semi passive cooling with one click. Now observe fan behaviour. Constant revving? /pulsing? if not, you are got lucky. If you didnt notice, only excuse would be a very noisy environment. That is the issue provoked. However this will happen during normal use without disabling semi passive cooling. Especially under light load.
The Only issue with the card is that it will rev on and off when sitting around the 57 degree threshold. I recommend going into the Aurus engine app and setting a custom profile for fan speed to start or run around 33%. The plus side and/or the reason this card does this in my limited opinion is because the fans are so good that the second they kick on the temp drops below threshold. So if you computer can stay cool when idle, this may not be an issue for you. I would then recommend getting great case fans and being in a cool environment.
The windforce series has amazing cooling i have the 970 version had it for 5.5 years the card doesn't go more than 69 on full load and 32 on idle... its amazing..

Just got this in preparation for RDR2. Had some issues with games crashing, but now it works really well and performance is so good I want to upgrade my Ryzen 7 1800x so that it doesn't bottleneck.
This GPU is powerful but if you used to work in a quiet workplace is very noisy and annoying. Fans are always turn on and off and there is no options to fix this even with the fan curve.
Awesome, think i'll definitely be picking up this card, its great value for the high quality. Gonna be putting it in my first ever proper build with a Ryzen 3700x and an Asus X-570 chip, very hyped.
Yes. Most modern NVIDIA GPU's ship with gsync bundled into the software, if you can utilize it, it will be used, otherwise it is not used. Likewise if you have multiple displays, one with gsync, one without, it will be able to dual monitor and utilize the gsync for the monitor that supports it and the other one will work no problem. If you're looking for a good gpu, this one is pretty solid. I've got the white edition and I play most games at UHD (2k or 1440p) around 144hz (or 144 fps in game). Only downside to this particular model would be the poor software from Gigabyte, the RGB is lacking any customization. If I'm not mistaken you must have a Gigabyte motherboard paired with the GPU to even be able to download the driver software (for aesthetics.) So if customization of the rgb is a deal breaker for you, that's good information, but if you can deal with the preset rgb pattern its a solid card hardware wise.
I have just bought it in Australia for $629 and a free 500gb ssd drive. Nice. Can't wait to put a new system together. That's through P. C. Byte. Will a 650 watt psu do with a ryzen 5 3600 and this card?
Noob question, when it is said "as reference" is that pertaining to Nvidia's reference cards? So meaning this 2070super can use the same waterblock as a Nvidia 2070super?
Lets start a tiny thread of the windforce 2070 super overclock results. Right now, at default, my clock has peaked 1970mhz on Unigine 4.0. Iv managed to get my core clock (memory untouched) to +120 at 2220mhz in unigine and 2080-2100 in afterburner. Two questions real quick, first why is there a 100mhz difference between the benchtester and afterburner? Second, this seems extremely high (good I guess) for this card when most of the forums and posts I read are showing this card barely capable of reaching 2080mhz. Do I have a god tier card or is there something else going on here? Everything seems stable so far, however I have only tested in unigine and have not gamed yet. At +120 core clock, I have gained roughly 10-11fps.
No nothing like that is included. It would probably help but I reckon if you have one of those steel reinforced PCIE slots it might not be necessary, the card itself weighs about 980g
I have a G-Sync panel and I'm on the fence. Black Friday coming up so I'll either get this one or the MSI Gaming Trio. Depends on which one has the best deal.
I don't know anything about PCs but i am trying to build my first PC and i want this card and i don't like the price where i live. I've been offered RTX 2070 Super ROG Strix Gaming OC for a bit less is it a good alternative?
Hmmm...Mine stays in 70 c in load not higher with fans on auto(65% speed) should i boost the fans? Im afraid not to damage them because i can't find any place to buy new ones in case they broke. Pls a little help :D or is it safe to let the gpu run on auto at 70c?
Thanks for the great video! Considering buying the card, when overclocking how was the temperature and fan noise affected? alot of noticable fan noise when OC? Did you try undervolting as well? Thanks!
I want to feel like my purchase of this GPU is justified. Is this a good and reputable brand for GPU's and can I feel good about owning one? or should I walk on over to another brand?
Which do you think is better ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER AMP Extreme or EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER FTW3 Ultra Gaming or should I just get the Gaming OC
Until recently, I had a gigabyte GTX 1060 Xtreme gaming. The card was in the end in most games on the limit of its skills. Nevertheless, ist has never actually been heard. Now I've upgraded to a gigabyte RTX 2070 super gaming OC. We do not have to talk about performance. That's just a huge difference. But if the 2070 has to deliver a lot of power, it gets really loud. I first looked if I have accidentally installed a vacuum cleaner in my computer.
Did the noise come when starting to overclock? What are your impressions? how much before/after OC and how much did you OC? have you been able to find a sweetspot? considering buying this or the 5700 XT Pulse and noise is a big factor
Thanks for the response, that’s weird seeing as the card has getting great reviews for being close to whisper quiet? Considering buying and I’m noise sensitive. What kind of case/case fans are u using? Custom build or finished computer?

Cheers mate, really helped, I'm buying this GPU for Christmas and this really helped.
Whats the difference between the gaming oc 8 g and the gaming oc *3x* 8g ?
I had to return my gigabyte, i can't stand how the fans start up. They turn off and on, off and on until they eventually stay on. They do this because the fans can't do anything less than 30%. I'm not spending that much for a card and then i have to apply custom fan curve with 3rd party software.
Hi there, is this card the same as the "RTX 2070 Super Windforce OC"? You mention the "Windforce 3X cooler" when reviewing this card but I assumed that the "Gaming OC" version and the "Windforce OC" versions are different? Any helpful information would be appreciated. Thanks
I've got this exact card, overclocked it, and it rocks
Does the white led on your gpu pcie slot light up for about a second and then turns off when you boot?
Any chance you measured the thermal pad thickness when you took the card apart. Going around gathering info - 0.5 mm for memory, 1mm for Vrm. I just don't know the backplate one. 2 mm? 5mm ? 1.5 mm ? So many conflicting pieces of info.
i am debating between EVGA’s XC rtx 2070 super and this rtx 2070 super any owners of either would you know which one should i go with since where i live they’re both substantially lower priced than the Strix version
Get this one. Great temperatures
Thanks for the video! Did you hear any coil noise/Whining while testing this gpu? People have been complaining about it alot. But the card looks to be a good investment.
Cheers
Would you recommend this card or the aorus?
Same question here. Which one did u buy?
@@orochiownstyle check out customer reviews for both. I just got this one because the aorus is pretty ugly and has horrible quality control issues. People are having tons of issues with it
Is this gigabyte card better than the founder edition rtx 2070 super cause I’m unsure which to buy
Getting this after refunding a 5700xt which had crazy usage and fluctuation issues
Same here, random hard crashes and stutters on every game from LoL to MHW:Iceborne... Returned it after a month of troubleshooting trying everything I could.
This makes me feel better about buying the card in this video. The 5700xt has great performance for the price, but it seems like it's barely hanging in there
@Charles Lee Ray hopefully amd learns from this, because im also going nvidia.
Got an rtx 2070 for 385, im pretty happy
Does anyone know what i can sell one of these for right now?
Just got this in preparation for RDR2. Had some issues with games crashing, but now it works really well and performance is so good I want to upgrade my Ryzen 7 1800x so that it doesn't bottleneck.
get a r5 3600 at least for that gpu
Thanks buddy that was really helpful
What drivers would i download for this card? Like id this nvidia or gigabyte
Its my built wtf
@@sexmanyagi5490 I ended up going with an Aorus Elite board instead, but same card and chip.
@@ShroomRPG can i ask somethin?
@@sexmanyagi5490 What?
Is this guy the brother of that girl who does videos? They look eerily similar
Such a nice card. Going from a 5600rtx which was nice, but the performance feels incredible using this.
Is this graphics card g-sync compatible please someone let me know
It’s still your favorite? Or is there a new one that you would recomend.
what the difference with this and the windforce version ?
Imagine you could build your own GPU
I have just bought it in Australia for $629 and a free 500gb ssd drive. Nice. Can't wait to put a new system together. That's through P. C. Byte. Will a 650 watt psu do with a ryzen 5 3600 and this card?
Will do
What happens when you haven't installed the Gigabyte software for the lightning and the card is installed on a motherboard not made by Gigabyte?
Nothing
It looks very big. Can I mount it on a Rog Strix Z390-E?
Found a brand new one for $460 usd, is that worth?
Is it worth replacing i5 8400 for ryzen 3600x ,I know I need new mb,but atm I only care if my i5 is too slow for this gpu?
Just got this card in the Cyber Monday sales for £460 (ebuyer) with Call of Duty.
I’m planing on getting this card w the ryzen 7 3700x
How to activate that i have the RTX 2070 Super OC 8Gb ver 1.1 and i cant activate the logo. pls help me
Noob question, when it is said "as reference" is that pertaining to Nvidia's reference cards? So meaning this 2070super can use the same waterblock as a Nvidia 2070super?
is there any issues of the rgb fusion and any reports of it dying before 6 months?
At +120 core clock, I have gained roughly 10-11fps.
is some kind of gpu support/rack included? Do you think it's needed for this card?
No nothing like that is included. It would probably help but I reckon if you have one of those steel reinforced PCIE slots it might not be necessary, the card itself weighs about 980g
@@KitGuruTech 980g isn't that much actually for a rtx card, so I think you're right, thanks for the clarification
I have a G-Sync panel and I'm on the fence. Black Friday coming up so I'll either get this one or the MSI Gaming Trio. Depends on which one has the best deal.
What store you buying from?
Im on the same boat :D
What did u get
using MSI's Afterburner program, i got an extra 70mhz from the OC scanner
115mhz on core and 975 mhz on memory? damn . was that playable on Cod MW? cause that game hates oc'ed gpus.
good review. nice card. man...your 1080ti is slooow.
Black Friday coming up and it was 470 a few weeks ago already so hopefully it probs down a good amount
Thanks man, picking it up.
New to the pc world, what's the deference between this and the msi 2070 super I noticed the msi is a bit more in price
I don't know anything about PCs but i am trying to build my first PC and i want this card and i don't like the price where i live. I've been offered RTX 2070 Super ROG Strix Gaming OC for a bit less is it a good alternative?
my fans arent on when my gpu is hot what do i do to keep them on all the time
great review , now subscribed
this card is currently $699.99 CAD but i think im gonna go for it, its just too good and will last a long time
Hmmm...Mine stays in 70 c in load not higher with fans on auto(65% speed) should i boost the fans? Im afraid not to damage them because i can't find any place to buy new ones in case they broke. Pls a little help :D or is it safe to let the gpu run on auto at 70c?
Thanks for the great video! Considering buying the card, when overclocking how was the temperature and fan noise affected? alot of noticable fan noise when OC? Did you try undervolting as well? Thanks!
I have this graphics card, I'm using a hdmi cable and a HDTV. I get a blank screen till windows so am unable to enter bios, any ideas?
I have this card but I think my one is 1775 not 1815? Is there a difference or not really?
I want to feel like my purchase of this GPU is justified. Is this a good and reputable brand for GPU's and can I feel good about owning one? or should I walk on over to another brand?
Which do you think is better
ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER AMP Extreme
or
EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER FTW3 Ultra Gaming
or should I just get the Gaming OC
@@lindstroem4 i have never overclocked any Hardware.
Thanks for the response, that’s weird seeing as the card has getting great reviews for being close to whisper quiet? Considering buying and I’m noise sensitive. What kind of case/case fans are u using? Custom build or finished computer?
@@WattPerformance just got mine and its quiet..... i had a 5700 xt msi mech and that god soo hot within 1 hour i boxed it back up and returned it for a exhange to this.
Does this GPU fit in the Corsair Spec Alpha?
Great Video! So does the reference like PCB mean that you can install all waterblocks for reference 2070s and 2080s on it?
Do u have an answer ? I'm looking for a waterblock for this GPU
What are the settings for the overclock here to get it close to 2080S and how do I do it?
does it fit the sharkoon TG5 Glass case?
I have a 1070 atm. I have a 3900x, would this card be a big improvement for me? [stream/gaming]
If your card is a standard 1070 than It would be an immediate +20-80 fps increase across all of your games (Higher FPS depending on what you play/Settings).
If you own a 1070 Ti its still a decent upgrade but obviously not as noticeable.
You have a nice really nice processor so your best bet might be waiting for the Nvidia 3000 series in August so maybe prices drop and you can get a 2080 Ti.
And I would use this to check performance - www.gpucheck.com/gpu-benchmark-comparison
@@Jdkieddj I kinda took your advice, and bought a 2070s, I didnt wanna wait any longer :D otherwise i would have held off your the 3000series.
thank you for taking the time to hit me up
walkr6TV Hahha yeah same, if you can wait... wait I guess. But after the 3XXX launch, you would be waiting for the Super variants of them, and then the rumors of the 4XXX would be around, and so on haha. You can be waiting forever that way or buy now and enjoy it immediately 🙆🏻
