I found the album Cash Crop on a trip to Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia, and I just couldn't stop listening to it on the Discman non stop, nostalgia.....

One of the classic music videos that helped inspire me to get into breaking. This is back when I felt bad any time I missed an episode of rapcity on much. Now I don't care.

Cash Crop is one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time. It's a shame the Rascalz didn't have more success than they did (especially on a global scale) I came across them by accident. They had all the ingredients for being a massive hit, yet I don't know a single person outside of Canada that's heard of them. I must have played this album a thousand times over. It seems arbitrary, but if they came from the United States, they would have blown up the way other groups did. In terms of talent, they're up there with the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Gangstarr, the Pharcyde, De La Soul, Wu Tang, the Fugees, Naughty by Nature, Mischief Crew, and Mobb Deep. They should have been promoted differently. It's a missed opportunity. Rap music these days has had a sharp decline. There are still a few gems to be found, but it'll never be like it was. It's a bummer.
