One of the worst thunderstorms I have ever experienced was in southern Sweden. I live in the United States but we go over to Sweden every year to visit. This storm lasted about 2 hours and the lightning was nonstop! We stay right by the water so that probably had something to do with the severity of the thunderstorm. I was actually by myself for a couple of weeks so I just hunkered down and watch "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (my favorite) on DVD while the storm was crashing all around me. The weather that evening was beautiful so then I went out a bit. Great video and don't listen to the people that gave you a thumbs down!
As normal for storms this far north there we no big hail, tornadoes or funnel clouds. So with these things it was not severe. But the storm gave torrential rains in central Copenhagen that lead to the biggest flash flooding event ever seen in Denmark, the rainfall amounts over a few hours in Copenhagen were unprecedented, so in that way it was a severe storm that Copenhagen will not forget. The storm moved westward in the night and was active until next morning, but not severe.
and btw Tornadic activity is actually really common for North-Central Europe as europe is way hotter than north america which is why Denmark have Illinois temperatures and illinois is way souther than denmark (about 1 - 1.2K KM) Denmark gets atleast 5 tornadoes a year however compared to our southern friends aka germany then 5 ain't much since germany has 30 - 70 tornadoes a year (europe in total gets 500+ a year)
i was right in the center of copenhagen, and i had been outside all day and i remember sitting on a spider-web thing and watching the lightning, but i never thought it would be so bad, the rain was like someone poured a sea over copenhagen :O
Great Storm for a Nordic country but I still no sold on it's severity. where there any reports of wind gust of at least 92kph hail of at least 2.5cm and or any funnel clouds?
Actually denmark experiences way more T storms/supercells than what people think Due to the sahara desert then europe have typically hotter temperatures than the us Denmark alone gets extremely close to illinois temperatures and that state are about 1 - 1.2K KM souther than denmark
Great video!! I remember, about 4 years, ago, me and my father had to drive from Emmaus, PA up to Cape Cod, MA. That is approximately a 6 hour drive. We had this kind of crazy weather ALL THE WAY UP!! I swear it must have been a front that we were following. It was VERY intense! I think it is on RUclips somewhere.

jakobherning76 That’s true. Your video was very good.
En rigtig fin film med flotte lyn og uden forstyrrende baggrundsmusik og andet ødelæggende.
The daytime driving part of your video reminded me of drives after storms in East Texas.

Flash flooding is indeed most common in severe thunderstorms like HP supercells Which this event most likely where

This is a really good video, great quality too! Was a long lasting storm too by the looks of it. Out of interest, what car is it?
Looking at the instrument panel right at the end, I'm guessing a Toyota of some kind....possibly a Yaris? Maybe a Prius.
+AaronArmstrong030792 It's a Yaris :)
Huzzah. :D That was a good guess, lol.

Not really, but yet one of the more powerful storms I have seen in Denmark
+jakobherning76 ah, ok. it just looked quite menacing similar to one.
+justin biggs I am sure many still remember th is storm here 5 gears after ..it caused large floodings in Copenhagen
+jakobherning76 5 years it should be
+jakobherning76 looks like a pretty bad storm. by looking at it it looks like it was causing flooding by all the rain it was producing.
