  • Test and Tune passes at Gulfport Dragway
vehicle is a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am LS1 WS6 Automatic
TSP Bald Eagle Cam, Flowtech headers, SLP lid, TSP true dual exhaust, EFI Live Tune, 2800 stall, built 4L60E, chromoly driveshaft, BMR rear suspension, stock 10 bolt rear end with 3.23 gears, full weight, stock size street tire (275/40R17) Continental Extreme Contact Sport.
    Car ran a 12.4 @ 114 MPH
Tune is terrible as it keeps shifting at 6000rpms like in very last video. First 3 videos are the same pass of me bouncing off rev limiter of 6400 just different views. I was attempting to "bump shift" it to try and get it to shift closer to 6400 and not 6000 but obviously failed both shifts.
Update: I have discovered this car has more in it from the cam than I currently have now. TSP claims it's power band is good to 6600rpms and to set redline at 6800rpms. Still currently shifting at 6000rpms with a 6400rpms redline all from poor email tune. looking for good quality in person tune near MS coast

Those are pretty good numbers. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Great day at the track. I saw you were trying different shift points/ways (or not shifting), what were you're times? Any rear gear/suspension mods?
Been eyeballing that cam myself for my stock 2000 Z28, M6 w/3.90 gears & fully adjustable rear suspension

It's stock rear end with 3.23 gears and the rear suspension is BMR everything. LCAs with relocator brackets, adjustable torque arm, adjustable panhan bar and BMR front and rear lowering springs. Times are 12.4 @ 114. The cam is pretty good mid/high range with a heavy idle. Almost same thing as a BTR N/A stage 2 but with closer LSA

Stock lifters? What springs? Probably getting this cam but i dont want to stress the lifters too much

I still have the stock Lifters and PAC 1219 Springs. Which is probably why the stock lifts have held up since they're the softest springs you can use with this cam. TSP recommends PAC 1219, PAC 1211 or their dual valve springs. The car is a Weekend toy and I have put about 6,000 miles on the cam so far over the past 4 years. Currently at 131k miles

@@APMotorsports0thats exactly my thinking! How does the car drive with the cam? Any regrets? I am leaning towards it instead of the flowtech streetsweeper HT because the TSP cams are supposed to be easy on the valvetrain. I guess you used stock retainers and locks? Did you use new valve seals? How many miles on the car? Sorry for all of the questions lol

@JonnyAbs-0 there's a video on my page of me doing the cam swap. The only things I changed was the cam itself, valve springs and Pushrods. I used the stock retainers and clips. It drives great, rpm band is consistent from idle all the way to redline. Only regret is I should have upgraded the oil pump while I was in there. The pressure still reads within spec through a whole WOT pull (55-60psi) however I think an upgraded oil pump would have been some great added insurance to everything. The idle is super heavy due to the 111LSA, which depends on who you are is a pro or a con. Mine also has very aggressive mufflers as it's the TSP true dual exhaust, so maybe with better mufflers, the idle wouldn't sound so heavy. Also I suggest upgraded fuel Injectors. Everyone gets a different result. Some people say "I have 500whp and stock fuel system" and there's some people who have theirs maxed out just from Bolt ons. Mine (as seen in this video) is shifting early at 6000rpms and needs to be shifting at 6600rpms as suggest by TSP. However I decided before I got it re tuned I wanted to see if the fuel system could hold it. At 4400rpms my Injectors are already at 100% duty cycle. Next steps will be larger Injectors and then a re tune. Video will be posted once complete

How did the cam affect mpg? Getting ready to do a full rebuild on my 2002 ws6. Just don't know what cam to get. Thanks.
