I Sold My 9 Year Old Car For RM10K+ Myself Without Using Carsome

- I just sold my car! Initially I wanted to take the easy way by using a used-car platform like Carsome but they offered me an extremely low price. So, I decided to do it myself! And I got to sell my car for twice the price! This is how I did it.
NOT JUST THAT! Cost of insurance is something we often not take into consideration when buying a car as well! If you are someone who are not driving often, you can actually SAVE MORE on your motor insurance with this policy that I found:

Cost of insurance is something we often not take into consideration when buying a car as well! If you are someone who are not driving often or less travel distance, you can actually SAVE MORE on your motor insurance with this policy that I found: 👉 bit.ly/msigv1
Mr. Money, didn't this car get slammed into the side by a taxi some months back? Did you mention about the accident? Also I have a feeling you new car is the BYD Ato electric car.
When did the new owner pay the balance of 11K? Did he pay via internet banking at the JPJ during name transfer?
Honestly this is super helpful even to someone who's looking to purchase a used car from a private seller as well! I've always wanted to buy my first used car from an invidivual but had no idea how the process was going to be like so seeing the whole process from the seller's perspective really does help out
Wish u all the best! Yes if can buy directly from seller it can be a pretty good deal but u also gotta make sure the car has no problem la. So if can bring to a mechanic n check it out before buying
Hi there, are you still looking to get a used car?
These kind of videos on "adulting", actually helps a lot.
For carsome, u can actually reject their direct offer and go for bid, I did that and got more then what I wanted
True. You can negotiate or try another agent like Mudah to get a better price.
Love this channel bro. Very helpful for malaysians
I am thinking of selling my car but when I got to know the quote from carsome...tak jadi lah... this gives me new hope...hahaha Thanks!
Go for it man
@@MrMoneyTV but the problem is my loan still about 10k. Of course if I sell the car, i can maybe get around 18k. But there is the additional step of settling the loan.
I just sold my 2015 saga at 15k. Before that went to carsome they quoted me rm7k, wtfffff. I'm rather sell it myself due to its excellent engine condition even compression above 190 psi for all cylinder, cvt gb performs superb, even at full passenger, can tekan naik genting 100kph easy. So, use mudah, the best way, sold it within one week.
They offered me 6k for saga manual 2013😂, but they sold at 17-18k on their website, too much profit for them.😆😆😆. I was shocked when I get that low price 😂
hey, new to this.. where did you go to check the psi & cvt?
Will be excellent to understand how the remaining payment was arranged with the buyer. Best practice after accepting deposit
Good idea maybe we’ll do a follow up post
@@MrMoneyTV if you need second opinion on this, let me know.. i’m a hobbyist car seller 😂
@@ahmadfrhn97 Let me know if u're interested to deal a Mazda 3.
Up!
Giving this a like. Good job with the tutorial
1. You can get your original vehicle registration card before settling your loan. 2. You can pass PUSPAKOM with tinted windows if they meet JPJ standards.
Habis lah. Rahsia runner terbongkar 😢 😂
Good video! Please do more such topics.
like you say, if no rush, I would probably sell my car personally, but since I am an introvert and not good with people, I would probably hire car selling platform
New car is Honda? since you are wise with money, I think fuel efficient and high re-sell value is what you look for.
Actually I think carsome is this bidding thing that allows u to put ur car up for bids. Heard it works well for certain car models. Hmm… maybe it’s a porsche?🤔
you know what? is a great video for those who dont have this kind of knowledge. but in another way, everyone want to sell their car at higher price , so you are making the used car dealer to buy your car at high price & sell it with low price? Certain brand comes with demand but some doesnt. Used car cant sell the car with the same condition as you sell to them, they have to at least paint it, as you know paint job will be around 3k, they have to include all these cost when they give you a quot. so it mean, all used car dealer can close their shop. throw away their rice bowl.
Thanks for sharing this selling experience. Just curious as you mentioned this is 9 or 10 year old car, did you take out a 9 year loan? Would you do that again? Why or why not? In the end, how much did this car cost inclusive of interest? How much net of the final loan payment did you recover? Hope you can share!
Yes I took out a 9 year loan at that time. My biggest money mistake. I had 7k left as loan balance so I “made” some money I would say.
@@goalman18 better advise... scout for a great 2nd hand car instead and pay up using cash like in the video. greater value for money. don't be so itchy to buy new car, next year also keluar again better face-lift and what not. If so itchy, then better prepare yourself for the loan payment of a product that will cost only 10-15% of the ori price max. bear in mind, KEYWORD : GREAT 2nd HAND CAR
@@goalman18 I own a 97 Toyota ae111 bought in 2004 for cash 40k. Still driving it because it is cheap to maintain. I do not travel as well. So I am already prepared for early retirement.
@@Sangsinga682 AE111 for 40k? Are you serious? Can find in mudah less than 10k
@@coltrain7 I mentioned I bought for the price in 2004. Now only worth 5-6k. Worth keeping. Parts still available. Very cheap too. Insurance less than rm 300. I only need a transport. Not a lifestyle. That way you save more $ and build wealth faster and enjoy later (delay gratification).
My brother bought a car from Carsome and they didn’t check the odometer tampering part and sold it anyway to him T__T apparently the original owner tampered with the mileage…was lower than the real mileage…my bro went to check with Proton to confirm…but unfortunately my brother also didn’t do his due diligence prior to purchase…for those who may fall prey to this…demand mileage report or sthg from the service centre or sthg to validate so u won’t get scammed T_T
Used car industry in need of regulation. In the UK there is a website where you can find out about the history of the car including accidents.
The biggest take away from this video is......................... don't buy a Peugeot. LOL. RM110K to RM11K in 9 years? Also don't get 9 year HP loans.
U are right my friend
Thanks for sharing this.
This was very helpful. However I think the key point here is if you can settle the car loan. If you cannot do so, any deviations from the process you outlined in the video to sell the car yourself?
Thanks for the tips
Can you do a video on how to buy and apply for a loan for both, new and second hand cars?
Hi, I have got question to ask:
1. I am selling a company car, the market is around 95-100k (carlist), should i also be listing at that price or lower?
2. If the buyer is intending to buy using loan for my 7 years old car, what should i be aware of?
3. Do we process all the payment first, before do a proper name transfer at JPJ? or how?
Thanks Mr. Money...
The buyer pay by cash or loan from bank? What's the procedure will be if loan from bank? Need to wait for bank approval and so on...? Thx
can you share your yearly maintenance cost for that Peugeot my friend?
Becareful when dealing with Carsome. They are known to sell badly damaged cars n passing them off as accident free. I guess the accident was given free ....
Oh no, another scamming n con company on the prowl.😬
Surprised Mr Money had a Peugeot. Was expecting you to be savvy with money and drive a Toyota.
Haha bought this when I was still young n stupid 😂
Who should pay the car inspection Puspakom & ownership transfer JPJ fees ? Seller or Buyer?
I hope you withdrew your NCD from the Peugeot and transferred it to your new car
Feel like you are kinda dissing Carsome/Other platforms, but happy for you Mr Money for selling it at a higher price 😂!
Haha no la. They also have to make money wei. It makes no economical sense for them to offer me to buy at market price for consumersz
@@MrMoneyTV make sense !
Hi how can I reach out to you for advertisement or video shooting for my client ?

If I can buy that car…. I think I won’t be making this video. 😂😂😂😂
When the new owner see this video
Owner: Aiyaa....sudah beli mahal😂😂
'Carsome has left the chat'
I think I saw u in ur ride with registration number of Wxx 777?
When did the new owner paid the balance?
Sooo when would you receive the rest of the 10,500? Straight after you transfer ownership?
Yes. I asked the new owner to transfer it over in JPJ itself during the name
Transfer.
@@MrMoneyTV Your sum was small , I am wondering what if the sum was higher say 50k and above?
@@ryan.chongwm also wondering this as well. How to go about if the owner needs to take out a loan to pay for our car?
May i ask when exactly does the buyer pay the balance amount? Is it before, during or after signing the jpj transfer form?
I don't think in this scenario the buyer helps settle the loan balance. As Mr Money mentioned, if you don't have the means to settle the loan yourself, should opt for the used car platform.
I don’t buy cars for their resale value😂
So the buyer pay u the balance before or after the ownership transfer? I ask this question because I believe both parties are worry whether the other party can be trusted or not.
May I know do you need to settle the car loan before JPJ name transfer?
If you do not settle your car loan, how are your to transfer it to the new owner./
The video shows that Mr Money went to the bank first to settle the loan before going to puspakom.
Ya the resale value sucks.. I bought a Volkswagen Passat 2013 for 160k and sold it in 2018 for rm20k.. stupid me.. now I only buy Honda or Toyota..
I wonder if I can use the same way to sell my Yamaha G3 grand piano for 18k.
Same here tho. They only sell lower than the insurance value
I have a loan with public bank, i payed off the loan early, but I didn’t get any receipt from public bank , what is the next step if I want to sell my car off ?
did you get early settlement discount?
Any tips for buying a good used car?
I can help to look for good used car . Depend on your choice
You bought A NEW PEUGEOT 408 !!
Who paid the puspakom and transfer charges, seller or buyer?
Seller. In this case myself 😁
I think that is the way, I was put off from buying from a seller because she insisted I must pay for puspakom fee.I told her that as a buyer I can only buy if seller's car is certified fit for sale.
fyi, carsome / mytukar both are used car 'centre', same as all used car u can see anywhere. both will offer higher price compare to other used car not 'market' price/ direct owner price.
Yes. That’s right they also need to earn money 😀
if I sell personally through mudah, is it possible to keep the car plate number?
Yes you can. But u need to first transfer the number out to another vehicle like a bike first
@@MrMoneyTVonce transferred, then the initial car would be plateless no?
Im a wee bit worried the price is too low aswell
Carsome quote my wife's kenari for 6.5k,a bit low than my expected 8k lh
I still hv my kia spectra now, bought 6k in 2015 hopefully i can get 5k out of it tho with ur tactic😂
Tesla 3?
You have serious guts to purchase such an unreliable car 😮.
Hahaha it’s called courage. When I was young and stupid. But have to say it’s nice to drive
i think this one better than 508 wor.
Wait how is the 408 depreciation that bad. I’m looking to sell my Peugeot 208 2014 for like 20k
Thanks to NAZA. Bought the car in 2014 Jan at 110k NAZA decided to reduce the price by April to 68k for new car. 👍🏻 instant 40% offf for new car and used car value died.
I guess you will buy back perodua
From 110k to 10k in 9 years is crazy. Japanese car 9 years 80k to 40k 😂🤣
Buy what you can afford or feel right~ Not follow majority or old thinking reliable Toyota mindset~
I bought a used 2012 K5 for sometime and almost finish my payment~ From 60k mileage to 130k now~ Didnt give me any problem. Normal wear and tear no need mention la~ It did not broke my bank like what my friend told me. In the end is his 2019 Vios that broke before mine. My other friend BRV didnt have much problem than his Vios~ Maybbe he unlucky haha and another 5years for him~
Sold my 1.6 THP and they asked for 5k lmao
Just try not to go to carsome, these ppl treat u like u r so desperate for the money n will give u ridiculous price, try to sell urself instead
of going to them
i will go for mudah also though i must say answering low ballers/flippers are darn annoying. what car you bough? i guess not a french anymore
Toyota cross or honda crv ..i can imagine u use this car
wow... i thot Carsome will give better offer then other 2nd hand car seller...
