Please note the Great Wall was never the dividing line of the land of China and foreign tribes, but was the last defensive fortress to protect the most populated region, and the best agricultural land in China. The other side of the Wall was also part of China, but not so rich agricultural land.
Although you have spent 1 month travelling across China from west to east, you've merely just scratched a little of the surface in each province/city. Xinjiang (your 1st stop) by itself would take you at least 1 month to cover some of the counties within it because there are so many more places and landscapes there. Beijing, a city on its own, would require about 5 days to comfortably cover the major sights (eg. forbidden city, summer palace, tiananmen sq, houhai etc) which you have not done in this China series. When I was travelling in China and other countries, I don't like to rush so that I get to experience more the vibe of the place, culture and people. If you do go back to China, choose a 1-2 provinces and cover them more in depth, you will also enjoy the experience more and learn even more about the history and people of the place. Kashgar, which you mentioned you might go back, will take 4-5 days to truly see the sights. Look forward to your next destination.

People from South Asia countries can tour and travel alone freely in China without any fear of discrimination, dangerous, scam by local or cheated. Can also make video recording anywhere without police questioning them. I don't think Chinese can do the same in South Asia countries.
