just like a car salesman can’t keep a car. a house builder can’t keep a house. the urge to sell will get so strong that Jeff will put the house on the market . & move onto the next project

Geoff you need to talk to Jimmy Houston about the pond, he test his water in his lake and adds fertilizes to the water for the plankton bloom to have the perfect water to grow trophy fish.
You know how these professional fishermen are and they want the biggest bass and pan fish in their pond.
Jimmy Houston was a friend and customer of my father in Oklahoma, my father was the assistant sales manager for the wholesale company that supplied the groceries for his store he had at lake Tenkiller.
Jimmy Houston's private lake is 125 acres and is named Twin Eagles lake and not fare from Ardmore Oklahoma.
If I was closer I would volunteer, on the weekends anyway, even just to help cleanup and move things around … what’s that saying about many hands and work, I forget. The castle is really taking shape, exciting stuff! Thanks for sharing.

Put the basement in the garage. It may seem extra work now but it seems that when a project is finished there is also the things you decided to skip that you wish you hadn't. Something that may seem like to much time or to much money are usually what you wish you had in the end.

I seen a segment on this old house one time. didn't tell you a whole lot.. You sir on the other hand are sharing all what goes into this and I do appreciate that.. Hi Geoff, I know that it's too late, but I'm in construction, and we have been using the space under the garage for either extra garage space or home theatre. Depending of location, some people use that space for a root cellar. It's always a cool space.

FWIW, here in NY State, we have a building code that that an attached garage must have a drop down to the garage floor of 5 inches. It's based on keeping any flammable liquids in the garage area from entering the living space. Relatedly, insurance companies might refuse to give you coverage if you fail to meet this criteria. It's critical to know before you commit, and worth every minute spent. After a while you end up like me- a walking encyclopedia of construction knowledge! HA HA!

That goose might be permanent now. We have some resident geese that stick around all winter even though it can get to -40. The migratory ones started returning about 3 weeks ago.

A basement under the garage would have been a good idea . I used 3/4 plywood at joints 2 feet wide be cause I could not find instructions at the time , It seems easy to do it that way instead cutting all them 2x4 's up in little bits , I used the plywood again all so .
Bealy, I worked concrete construction in my younger years out of the union in DC. We used plywood both sides for forming with wall ties to space uniformly. Not sure of the advantage of styrofoam. Seems rather expensive. We used the same plywood and backer boards over and over. Just sayin'

I have not seen your plans, but I would suggest building piers from solid ground up to where the bottom of the slab in the garage will be. (Masonary flu bocks filled with concrete works well). That will give additional support for the garage slab and minimize future issues.
Impressive brother, it is all coming together. Also, how cool to have others from different countries coming to the build to learn the process.

Everything is looking Bealygood and yes you gonna have some really dirt eating backfill before doing some pouring. You may need a junk car or truck to help with backfill.

Am I seeing this right. The garage foundation wall is a disconnected T ? Strapping the forms together is only good for pouring the concrete. But if that garage foundation is not directly poured in with the house, then there will eventually be differential settlement and cracks running up the walls to the roof.

On camera it all looks so small until the drone shots at the end and having seen how big the lower pool looks in videos with you guys in it.

It seems that aeration will keep everything in suspension in the water. One local guy uses gypsum powder to clarify water.
It is already clearer than it was. I have stuff to treat it with, but I’ve got to make a video of it. Maybe will happen soon.

I was wondering why you didn't plan to build the wall over to the deeper pool in glass or see-through?

I have seen other stacked pools on RUclips where they use the foam blocks both inside and outside of the pool, rather than the wood that you are doing. Is that because those pools have a liner and yours won't? Could you put a scratch coat over foam using lathe or something like that, instead of having to assemble the blocks with the wood?
Correct, When leaving the ICF block the option is to have a liner or do a fiberglass mesh and plaster.
