  • I have had some viewers reach out with a desire to help. John #1 came for a week and John #2 came for a day. All this help allowed us to stack the NUDURA upper pool forms in 2 days. ‪@letsdig18‬ stops by to inspect the lower pool and pickup the mini excavator. Josh is back in town to help out. We are counting down the days till we pour the ICF basement and the Negative edge ICF pool. Instructions arrive from www.all3pools.com and ‪@cuttingedgehomes9251‬
0:00: 🔥 Efforts to prepare and burn excess materials in designated area for the ongoing project.

It’s easier to see how the pool(s) will interact with the house. The “shallow” pool is deeper than I expected (which I like).. I can’t wait to see that waterfall flowing. 🥳🙌🏼

Shaping up, looking good. Soon it will be Strongbacks and Whalers!
You mentioned in a recent video about laying in your concrete in shallow pours, to give your mix time to slake, and spacing your trucks an hour-ish apart. At that rate the concrete place may need to close before you get done. Also, the lesson we learned from the footer pour is that the pumper needed to reposition because there was no 'one place' he could set up to reach it all. Where I'm going with this is to please consider 2 pumpers from the outset and have 2 placement crews. Also in concrete pouring etiquette, always pour your lowest concrete 1st, and build uphill from there. There is a very good reason for this. If concrete runs downhill, the water and fines will run ahead of the coarser aggregate, setting you up for weak places there, and possible honey combing where the coarser aggregate is left behind. I guess my masonry schooling (and experience) is showing through again. Anyway, you do you and we'll watch, and it will be a learning experience for everyone.
    Thanks for sharing.

I just want to say that expanded styrene does a very good impersonation of a house fire a neighbor decided to burn scraps after insulating his home, he kind of forgot to get a burn permit not that they would have approved the foam but getting fined for just burning foam not to bad , having 2 fire departments show up at your house wellll he got spanked preeeetty bad. Lesson learned. Just thought I would pass that along, wink wink.

Hey Jeoff , when I was 40 I had to build some sliding storm doors they were stock size very light weight, 20 lbs. per panel 220 panels and frames(the frames usually went out K.D. but customer requested fully assembled) Me and a 19 year old "anything you can do I can do better" found out he was wrong. We worked starting at Monday morning 6 AM till 7 AM Tuesday they bought us meals ,no sleep till Tues. night . The young man found out what "Around the clock really meant", funny thing is 5 years later he also found his weak back we did the same type of job with 165 lbs panels there was only a hundred but we gottem done in 24 hours. He pulled a back muscle he was 25 and resilient but he was puny, I was 45 and man mountain and hungry for overtime, he just needed a good work record he quit and went to Arizona to be a mason tender for a year then came back and helped his dad load trucks.

Question: Is the ICF foam part tough enough to be on the live edge as it's potentially going to get knocks and wear after it's coated/lined etc or does it not matter? I get that at that level it's good to have a thermal break for the main pool as it's above ground but I honestly thought it would need to be straight concrete for the live edge and to match up on the drop pool.
