I am drone racer and have never thought to mess with a Phantom before.....a buddy lost his Phantom in the water and ended up with one smoked esc, after soldering out the esc I wanted to test the rest of the bird to see if it was all working, could not get it to arm seeing as how I know nothing about them, and so I found this video and had it armed in a matter of seconds, just wanted to say super thanks to you guys for the vid it really helped me out a lot

I’am a new owner of a Phantom 2 +. 1 week. When I land and hold down the throttle to the post, motors shut off. When I’am 400’ or so and want to descend as quick as possible, I hold throttle as I do for the motor shut off. What componets are in play to keep the motors from being shut off till I land? Also LIKE your presentation.

Thanks. Had a little go yesterday and seemed to be working. I forgot to charge the battery so only got 10mins flying time . Mind you I didn't fly it to far, and I was in a nice open field :-)
Great video! Just one thing I'd add - turn your phone onto "Airplane Mode" first and then the WiFi function back on. This in order NOT to be able to receive calls during your flight (which will switch the screen over from the DJI App to the phonecall screen, probably right when you don't want to loose that view).
do we need to do the calibration every single time for the drone before take off. Or just done it at the 1st time fly (i just got DJI phantom2 vision plus within few hours). still charging the batteries and reading menu.
DJI advise to do compass calibration to first flight every time as compass is very sensitive to electromagnetic interference which causes abnormal compass data and leads to poor flight performance or even flight failure. Regular calibration of the compass enables the compass to perform at its optimal level.

It is because the physical characteristics of the radio-frequency signal, even though the supplied antenna is an omnidirectional antenna the radio is not traveling with same strength at all directions, it is more like an "erythrocyte sharp", as your drone flies higher and higher, the drone will flies above the antenna, which will lead into the weak spot of the signal coverage area.

DJI has their own App for smartphone so that you can see the velocity, height, acceleration during flying it. Phantom 2 Vision is an old model. The DJI App for Phantom 4, Mavic or Spark has even more information.

I have everything setup in the right way but i can't unlock the phantom manualy (leftstick right bottom, right stick left bottom). I have a little trick for this but it is easier if it works like it should do. can you help me out? **the trick** I give the phantom 1 point to fly to in ground station, then when it is turned on and wants to go airborn i switch s1 fast down and up again to get manual control back.
ow and maybe this will help with finding a solution. my dji phantom 2 vision + won't link with any computer in my house and doen't have the ability to switch on AUTO GO HOME, another problem i have is that the battery life when charged 100% is and the app says 0 minutes, i can stil fly around 25 minutes though.
FPV monitor not only work with GoPro but any video devices supported video out connected to FPV transmitter. However, not applicable to Vision series from DJI

Why do you think the antenna works best tilted sideways? In the manual it says to keep it straight up towards the sky.
It is all about experience and we do this based on result :)

manuals aren't always right. It's all about physics, radio wave dispersion, and dead spots in the spectrum

FPV monitor not only work with GoPro but any video devices supported video out connected to FPV transmitter. However, not applicable to Vision series from DJI

did you make improvements to get 12 sats ? i only get 4, sometimes 6 in open fields...
Try to take it up and move it around a bit. just like you do with ur phone to calibrate the compass. Works 9/10 times for me to get the last sats.
