My phantom 2 batteries died. Would not charge. I bought a bootleg cheap one and it flew crazy. That phantom is a decoration now. I admire how much you like drones. I too have a similar appreciation for these machines.

I didn't fix the camera problem, while using the Vision app, I can't see the drone footage at all and also the footage is jumpy, I just fly watching the drone from the ground.
Just bought one used unfortunately has swollen battery . Flew it twice about ten minutes left of flight .. very easy and fun drone .. it to as well will not transmit live video but does work and takes video for sd card .. going to give to my little one and check the newer ones
Very interesting Shaun. Only getting into drones more recently, I have no experience of these beasts. That battery is HUGE! How things change, more flying time from a tiny battery in just a few years. But then again, the Mini2 is only lugging around sub 250grams unlike the heavyweights before it. 👍

The mavric looks good , how is the flight difference for a smaller drone just wondering if I should get a new one and not sink a bunch of time and money to repair my vision plus 2 phantom .. needs battery and they no longer make or support phantom 2 .. in your opinion should I just get a Maverick I can't afford 2000 for a new phantom 4
Worth checking out the DJI Mini 2SE, I own the Mini 2 and a few others but for good value might be worth checking out the SE. Vision Plus has had its day and the app is too buggy now :)

Thank you for watching the video - the app you need for this drone is the DJI Vision app, this is the only one that works with this drone. Litchi (I think) do a free version for this drone, let me know how you get on.

@@jairomesamorales2640 si señor lo importante es buscar un celular de ese tiempo que tenga Android 4.0 al 4.4 kit Kat también hay que tener en cuenta que el módulo wifi que trae la aeronave no esté dañado para que así puedas enlazar tanto el extender el módulo wifi y así optener imagen en el celular
I’m reaching out with a little story to which you can perhaps add a solution. In 2015 I purchased a brand new Ford F-150 and the Phantom2 Vision +. I’ve put 153,000 km on the truck and the drone came out of the box for the first time this weekend. I never opened the box. Will this drone still operate or do I have a $1500 boat anchor? I can’t seem to link the controller to the internet or link it to the drone. Same goes for camera hookup. I can download the Vision app but can’t progress to the camera hookup. I can get the propellors to wind up, so I may try to get it in the air tomorrow. Any suggestions? Yes I am over 60 and senile.
Just like me Hugh in age!!!!! I expect the main problem is the updates the drone had during its release in 2015 and you have the factory upload and not the latest update for that drone. I don't think DJI still hold that information now on updates. Might be worth checking out Phantom Pilots forum for info on that. I can't view the camera anymore with the app and the video footage is all over the place! In theory, it should work, being new. Might be worth selling it and get the DJI Mini 2, so much smaller and better footage :)
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Yesterday I had the proolights blinking. This morning I have nothing . Batteries fully charged and it refuses to engage. I’m really annoyed. @@shaunthedrone
Just took it for another spin 5km from my house and.after calibration it flies like a charm. If that’s all I get out of it so be it but I’m wondering if there’s a different app/interface to get the camera connected or is my IPhone 8S the problem? Of the two batteries I have, one has larger and squarish brass pads that make contact with the two interior pins while the other has two smaller round contact points. If those points aren’t making a love connection it would explain why the fully charged battery isn’t communicating with the drone. Is that a common design flaw?

Hi, you need the app to fly the drone. Worth trying the Litchi app, they do a free download for the Vision plus but if the Vision app doesn't work then the Litchi app may not work. Worth giving it a go, good luck :)

All was working and when I connect with the DJI software and made an upgrade all died. The drones never again responde to command and I heard that dji was discontinuing phantoms 2 vision plus and vision 2 V 3.0 (those are mines) I called DJI support and they said that they do not support any more those models and at my question about how to fly my drones in another way the only say that probably I would like to upgrade to a better model , is like total silense about this decision. No comments... you loose all your equipment...buy a new one. That is like $4000 with batteries and cases and stuff. So.. I do not have software and no app in my knowledge to save this drones. Are you flying your drone phantom 2 vision plus these days? and how do you fly it after this dji decision? It seems that the iphone it doesn't work neither. Thank you for your time.
@@LEMIANGEL Not flown mine since making the video as I was flying blind and at the time the Vision app was working (Apple) but I did get other people saying they were having the same problem with Android, not working. I don't want to fly mine again as I've been trying to collect them (DJI) over the years and lost 2 Phantom 1s that only had 10 minutes of flight time with no app. These were the only drones that you could fly without an app. DJI drones only have a short life span as the drone world is always changing with new rules on flying. Sorry I can't help but maybe some one else will read this and help.
Yes, called the Vision app with Apple, if your using Android, you will have to go on the DJI website to download. I think Litchi app did a free version for it. I will be flying mine again in a few weeks.
If you have no picture/video on your phone, can be 2 things. video transmitter broken (with some luck repairable via hardware programming) or, that was in my case, I use an android 8 phone. All working except video...got an old android 5 phone, and on this it worked fine. And luckely, it still got the lichi app on it (does not work anymore if you download it new).. Don't know about ios, maybee someone can test this...I still fly this oldie, and it still does the job..

I’ve just sold my old P2V* my video feed board had a fault, very common issue apparently with this old classic.

Holy crap. I just switched out the batteries and it was a whole new ball game. I was able to calibrate it and we experienced flight. I’m giddy.

Yes but not many, not like the new ones. So it will loose satellites depending where you are :)
