The Ayreon Universe concert was recorded in September 2017 at 013 Poppodium concert hall, Tilburg, the Netherlands. It was released on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 30, 2018.

Robert Soeterboek, probably one of the more underrated singers to appear on Arjen's works. So glad to see him at this performance! What a voice!
I didn't know him at all, indeed, but he sounds great here. Reminds me a bit of Russell Allen from Symphony X. I'll be sure to look up some more of his stuff.
Yep, and the mix does nothing to highlight that. The choir is awesome, don´t get me wrong, but I wanna hear Robert´s roaring in this song! The same happened with Hansi on some songs.
@@Arnoldfan89 Agreed, the main vocals are a bit on the soft side in many of the videos from Ayreon Universe to be honest. It's slightly better on the CD, but not much.

@@Arnoldfan89 It has a lot to do with the microphone handling of the singers,they just go to far ,sometimes,a distance.I'ts just better,in my opinion to use a "compressor"on the vocals to even out the volumes a little bit more. "Keep in mind" ,if there is not much vocal coming in the microphone,than you can't do much as a sound engineer,plus you have the"proximity"effect,wich means that with greater distance of the mic,you gonna lose a lot of the low frequenties.That all said,i still think it sounds good,😉

This live version is hundreds time better compared to the studio version

Sorry for asking but where is Arjen in this video? My friend showed me the band this week and I'm enjoying it
Ayeeon is the composer and the namesake for the whole thing. He rarely participates live.
Although i think he should ... he's way more talented live than he gives himself credit for.
This is part of a musical/concept album and he wrote the parts for those musicians.
There is a whole lot of them over the entirety of the performance and they are all great.
