Wish they put as much effort in to the durability of the HDMI port as they did into difficulty of breaking down the PS5 to fix it. I've had to replace 2 HDMI ports now, and it seems the disassemble and reassemble is the most difficult part of the process.
I work on consoles full time from home. Great video and process; it's very similar to what I do. The tinning of the pins on the bottom side is something I'll have to do more often. I've never had any issues not doing it, but I can see how it makes things a little easier. Thanks for the video.

Great video on the repair. Love how you show the end-to-end process which helps newbies learn all required steps. I do have a question for you. Why not use a solder sucker (Sold-a-Pult) from the bottom of the board to remove solder from the anchors...then use air from the top for the individual connectors? I'm getting back into repairs after a couple decades away, and I did 100's of connector repairs like that years ago...before HDMI. Thanks in advance for the response!!
@@VCCBoardRepairs Totally makes sense. Thanks for the quick response. When I have one to experiment with, I’ll let you know if it makes any difference.

There was a video elsewhere where someone used 138C solder paste on the whole assembly process, including the anchors. I'm curious how long that will hold up.

When determining which HDMI replacement port to purchase, do I need to favor in HDMI 2.1 support. I know the devices and cables are important, but do the sockets themselves vary across HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 2.1?
14:16 I'm trying to find when you mention the temperature that the hot air station should be set at. Something as delicate as this should be rather precise, I assume. Too hot, and it melts the plastic. Too cold, and the solder won't melt.
