Great video! I manage a small pc/laptop/phone/tablet/console repair and recyling shop in the states and love watching this kind of content! We don't have all the proper tools and know-how that you do to perform the microsoldering at your level, but the information is helpful to me and my techs. The 3 of us have started delving into microsoldering and can def say that you've been helpful in our endeavor. Keep the content coming! Cheers!
I bought a faulty ps5 but was lucky that a capacitor and one fuse was the only thing that blew. It’s super helpful for you to provide your videos for future fixes.
@thecod3r I've got one here that I don't think I've seen you get. Runs pefectly fine for 3-5, minutes in a game. Freezes and outputs a horrible sound to the speakers the shuts off. Liquid metal is completely fine, can't find anything on the board overheating. Think it's a ram issue? I doubt it's a power supply issue...
Hi Phil. Here’s a challenge for ya to make a video. I was hoping to try this myself but I don’t have a technicians microscope. How about trying a drift stick fix by using conductive paint. Clean the carbon track first with IPA then paint the effected area to see if it brings the potentiometer back to life. Then test the controller to see how long it lasts. It might make an interesting video.
Does anyone knows where the PWM fan pin is connected to, what drives it, series of components leading or a driver/controller or straight to the APU or SB? please let me know.
I have never had an issue with my ps5 and going on 4 years now. But it's never turned off or sleep mode. I found out that you never turn off they last longer since the ps4 release.
Hi my friend. My play 5 with FIFA shows me the overheating message 3 hours later but at no time does the fan speed up and the console doesn't feel hot. Why does that happen to me?
Not at all. The quality of components is the problem. That, and ignorant fanboys who will never see a problem with their beloved company who doesn't give a damn about them once they've spent their money!

Which revision to choose? Is it better to wait for "slim"?
Excellent job Phil and good work on the documentation on your findings for easy assessment on a particular failure. Keep up the good work.
Excellent job, where can we buy the TheCod3r coffee mug?
Great job Cod3r 👍
Cheers mate, much appreciated 👍

It was a capacitor on the F7502 part of a EDM-010 board.

An another video for my technicians, thank you.
good job i was watching you fix it and me changing a hdmi port on a ps5 first gen
Man Phil with that cheat sheet you've basically done all the work for other people. That's something you should be paid for honestly.
Where do you buy the MN864739 because I had bought a couple ones and they make the PS5 to not turn on
1 shorted cap. ,1 blown fuse and so many years….. 👏👏👏

Keep it up, man ... Stellar diagnosis & repair 👍👍
Should add another column with # of occurrences and see what is the most common of the common

Can you put ps5 internal SSD in pc?
how can we stop this from happening? is it from using rest mode?
You pretty much can't. It's simply down to poor quality components being used in the console when they were produced :(

The fan does not increase speed.
Amazing job as always 💯🫡
Completely swapped out the thermal compound and got it on skates since brand new. Not taking chances.
PS5 doesn't use thermal compound and "skates" do literally nothing to help the situation...
@@microgamingrepairs1981 and what do you think they put between the die and sink 🤣
@@SudburyMan liquid metal
How's it going m8. Hope all is well on your end.
Nice 👍
Evening Phil
Evening buddy
Yo Phil.
Bought a ps5 coz you said my series X was definitely going to die ..cheers I'm definitely not buying a switch 😂
hey my xbox series s beeps once, stay on for 10 seconds then power off. Any ideal on whats wrong?
💯💯👍👍👍👍
A shorted cap, you say? Never see THAT happen. Could have just left it off. One less to fail.
Lets gooo!
Not my favorite cunsole. I'll never buy a Paystation 5.
The problem is the person not the ps5 …
It's the person's fault that a multilayer ceramic capacitor went bad? Doubt.
