The All-New Ford Mustang GT3 Debuts at Daytona

For the first time ever, there’s a Ford Mustang GT3. It will make its race debut in the GTD class during the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Veteran driver Joey Hand, one of the pilots of the Ford Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang in IMSA, shared with us about what make this car special.

I have always loved the mustang since I learned about it when I was 3 years old it’s my dream car and is in my goals to own one so I may feel the power and enjoy a very very special car created by ford I keep telling my friends and family I’m a ford fan for life

It's clearly a cross plane crank engine, and it sure sounds like a superior push rod engine, sure would like to get a look at it, sounds like a Chevy.

He says it's a coyote v8 which is cross plane. Flat plane's aren't as reliable. That's why the new Cadillac LM car is basically the c8 Corvette lt6 but with a cross plane crank.

The one trick pony car started to die like in 2012 ford and gm started building sports cars. I feel like G8/holden coming to the us was the first sign of that change.
