Hi Doctor I had cerebral malaria 2 years ago, I am still suffering severe burning pain in the brain and eyes aswell as Tinnitus, memory loss giving me depression and severe anxiety. Is there any treatments out there to help my symptoms?
Many thanks for two very informative videos wrt Malaria. I'm regularly in West Africa (several months per year) and this region is endemic for the 'Plasmodium Falciparum' variety of the Malaria parasite. Accordingly, I typically take 1 tablet of 'Malarone' ( = Atovaquone 250mg + Proguanil Hydrochloride 100mg ) every morning with a milky drink. The guidance document for the Malarone tablets states that in the event of contracting Malaria one should take 4x tablets of Malarone immediately, which is then followed by 4x tablets taken on day 2 and likewise 4x tablets taken on day 3. Q) Does that Malarone dosage regimen completely clear the Malarial parasite from ones liver & blood or is there something else that one would need to do (or to take) after that 3 day regimen of 4x tablets per day has completed, i.e. in order to ensure that one is clear of malarial infection ?
