I've been living in New York for 40+ years, so I can tell you many Americans love Japanese food like curry rice, tonkatsu, ebi fry, etc. They also love Japanese bakery (panya) especially katsu sando, yakisoba pan, potato salad sando, etc. They love Japanese mayonnaise & tonkatsu or Okonomiyaki sauce!! Trust me that YOUSHOKU (Japanese style Western food) will be well received here..... especially here in NY where it's a multi cultural city!(^^)
What about Italian food like NENTAIKO SPAGHETTI in Japan? Nothing wrong to rearrange the taste to fit the likings of Japanese people. Don't be so narrow minded! You sound like a person from SAKOKU era!! lol!
NENTAIKO SPAGHETTI is a wholly new creation with substantial value-added, which is not fake Italian pasta, whereas these non-Japanese people are simply impersonating Japanese.
@@mmmoroi Of course you can't find MENTAIKO SPAGHETTI in Italy! Japanese people created it in Japan. As I said, it's nothing wrong to be creative to make it to more localize to where you live. There are many authentic Sushi restaurant in NY & are you against it? Why not having YOUSHOKU restaurant & KATSU SANDO place here? We should be happy that Japanese food get more exposure. These days, Curry & Ramen are so popular among Americans, too! I believe the chef is Japanese or the chef professionally trained in Japan or by Japanese chef, so it would not be a fake Japanese food. Also, just because the manager is non-Japanese, doesn't mean she's pretending to be a Japanese. She didn't change her name, did she? I assume she was hired based on her fluent English & the restaurant management experience. I still don't get why you are so offended by that restaurant..... (+_+)

まー 和牛サンドは喰くかと言われるとあの値段見ると。。。注文はしないけど(今時 ネットじゃなくて店主自ら日本に短期でも行ってという事はまー感心したかなー)で バー モガですが 1920年代の雰囲気のバーで 和洋食だと (ニューヨークだとあんな感じのメニューになりそう)オムライス(今 日本の京都のきちきちみたいな感じ(向こうは二千八百円ぐらいしたはず)で 16米ドルなら で テーブルでのパフォーマンスなんかだと 受けるんで良いんじゃ無いかと。お値段もあれなら 食べてみようかと。。
これうまそうやな。
Wall Streetで働いてますが、ランチのサンドに$28は毎日食べるには高いな。でも美味そうだから一度食べに行くか。

何十年も前に香港へ行った時でも、ホテルマンの控室にはなぜか机とトイレがあって

事務所とトイレが一緒になってる感じで、日本では考えられない作りでした。
短い滞在でしたが、テンプレ通り日本食が恋しくなり最終日に現地の方が営業してる
日本食のお店に入りざるそばを食べ、トイレへ行くと別な客の注文のそばを
なぜかトイレの洗面所で洗っていました。
厨房の水回りが弱いのか、混んでるのか理由はわかりませんが、床を拭く布と
テーブルの上を拭く布を、区別しないと聞きますから食べ物をトイレの洗面所で
洗うことに抵抗が無いって事なのが、日本人にはなかなか受け入れ難いですねぇ
