I came to realize a few years ago that buying lots of cheap items in our modern culture is what has created so much waste, and all because cheap, 'fast fashion' items (h&m, target, express, etc.) wear out quickly and we appreciate them much less. I've learned with time that it just makes much more sense to have just 2 or 3 high quality purses that will last...it's more eco-friendly, you'll probably end up spending less time and money, plus you're bound to be much happier with how they look.
I love the way you declutter, most people keep stuff even if they don't need it, you don't do that. I love it!

I moved last October and did a huge declutter just before that. I'm down to one backpack that I use for college and everything basically, one small purse for going out and one bigger purse in case I feel like carrying one instead of a backpack. Feels so good to actually use and love them!

A very good decluttering video. If you stuff your bags and sit them on a shelf without touching each other, they may regain their like-new appearance.
I did stuff my bags to keep their shape, but I didn't know they weren't supposed to touch each other!

I will! I totally love doing these videos. I wish when I originally filmed I had done before and after shots of the areas I was working on. It would have been really cool to see that progress.

Great effort! Super super impressed!! I was like you and had a whole heap, but as I've been consistently decluttering I've been able to let go a lot more and then more as time went on. It's amazing how much we keep of something for the "what if"! 😎😎😎
I've gotten rid of more stuff since I filmed the videos and I'm really excited to keep seeing my collecting shrink!

I just did mine and we have a total of 3 diaper bags(2 large 1 small), 1 large suitcase, 1 carry on, 2 athletic duffle bags, 1 backpack for classes, 1 swim bag, 1 purse for me when I go out alone(never happens), and 1 wallet. I really need to get rid of one of my diaper bags but I just can't
That's not a bad collection! It sounds like you're doing pretty well with decluttering too!

LOL. Me too! My mother in law gives me those mini shampoos and body washes you find in hotel rooms, complete with hotel logos.
Honestly, she would probably adopt anyone who asked lol. She has basically adopted my 6 and 10 year old sisters haha.

I got it from Claire's but that was over 5 years ago... but if you search must crossbody bag on google, you can probably find something similar that you like! :)

Yes, but it seems like you get more purses as gifts than me, so that could explain why you have more of them :) Next Christmas, you could ask a gift voucher for a massage or a spa day!
i have a diaper bag (that always stays in the car) a crossbody bag that i wear everywhere and one large purse for church that i never wear cause i take diaper bag with me. that's about it. i finally replaced my crossbody bag after wearing it for 3 yrs straight. i used to be a purse hoarder. i dont know what i was thinking lol

Your Mother-in-law is extremely generous! If you would stuff your bags with tissue they would keep their shape. I keep my stuffed and always in the dust bags when not in use.
I have been stuffing them for about the past year now! It's definitely helped them keep their shape.

I'm not sure... everything that I'm getting rid of is packed up right now, but I will try to remember to let you know once we get all settled into our new house! Just FYI, it isn't a real Chanel bag!

I don't think so! :) I just kept what made me happy, so to me, I kept the perfect amount :)
There's lots of ladies who would love and appreciate a purse a nice donation to a woman's shelter. But of course that's just me who donates all the time. Have fun with all those bags.
That's a good idea! I haven't gotten rid of my purses yet since I was planning on selling them on Poshmark, but I will look into women's shelters near me and see if they accept purses!
Geeky Chic. You won't regret it. You will feel good helping someone else there's lots of people who can't afford a simple coin pouch. You know sell some too that's what I did make some money but it's always good to help someone else that's my opinion.
