Their Spanish version is bloody incredible, their talent never ceases to amaze me
I think they recorded several of their albums in Spanish. Amazing!
Just another feather to their amazing bow. Fluent in Swedish, English, Spanish, French and German.
@@grahamwatt6290 That's why they are famous all over the world (except US apparently)
I agree: Benny on piano is top notch. Agnetha is awesome as always (she is my favorite), but Frida is stunning too, so much calmness and kindness, she just looks beautiful. And not to forget Björns guitar intro - on point. Another great ABBA song with Frida in lead is SUPER TROUPER
I love the way Frida just smiles as her hair constantly betrays her and gets in her face, what a trooper.
Stars these days would be swearing at their hairdresser for not clipping it or something.
"Chiquitita" means "little girl" with a connotation of "poor thing."
Michael Jackson was the King of Pop, but ABBA are the Masters of Pop.
Ehh
ABBA is for ALL ages and for EVERYONE all over the world!!! Timeless music from the Masters of POP!!!
Abba did their songs in 5-different LANGUAGES. WOW!
KIDS, TEENS, GROWN UPS, GRANDPARENTS, GREAT GRANDPARENTS, ALL L💘VE ABBA. THE BUILD UP OF CHIQUITITA, MASTERCLASS. NO ONE CAN SHUT ABBA DOWN, THE LEGENDS ARE BACK 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Loving your ABBA reactions! The Spanish version of this song was #1 in Mexico for 32 weeks!!
Glad you're enjoying our reactions!
In Argentina too!!
ABBA set the bar for pop music. Timeless. Enjoy your ABBA journey!!
When this magnificent song of hope was released in 1979, ABBA donated 50% of the royalties to UNICEF as a gift to the children of the World. Since 2014 it has changed to 100% of the proceeds. They were and remain with their recent revival, all class.
Fell in love with Abba back in 1975 when I first heard them on the radio! Now , to this day I still listen to their music frequently. They are ABSOLUTELY amazing!
You need to hear " like an Angel passing through my room" it is the last song on their then last album in 1981. Sung by Frida. Only Abba song with one singer. Beautiful haunting song, wow!
I can see you guys have that ‘ABBA smile’… Now you know it wasn’t just the great quality drugs in the 70s, it was listening to ABBA that put those silly smiles on everyone’s faces… even for their sad songs.
This song was the UNICEF song that year -- all the proceeds from the single in that year were donated to UNICEF.
On another note, ABBA did release this song in Spanish as well.
Keep up the good work!
The revenue from this song still goes to UNICEF, over a million dollars and counting last I read.
This was filmed in Switzerland (Leysin) for a "TV Special", around Christmas 1979. They arrived in their "Eagle" helicopter, made famous in their iconic album cover for "Arrival".
I'm so glad you were here again to continue with your reactions to ABBA songs, another of my ABBA Top 5!
several things to say about "Chiquitita" and it's context in 1979
"Chiquitita" is a beautiful song, it has hopeful lyrics, a melody that starts very soft with Agnetha's solo, then grows and explodes in a powerful chorus; Agnetha and Anni Frida's vocal harmonies are of excellence
It allows us to check how excellent singers Agnetha and Frida are and what harmonies of excellence they achieve. It stands out especially when they stretch the monosyllables with great quality and beauty
"Chiquitita" was composed especially for the UNICEF Concert, premiered that night (January 9, 1979) and its royalties are eternal for UNICEF
"Chiquitita" was ABBA's greatest success in Latin America, that prompted ABBA to record it in Spanish, and its success was so extraordinary that in the following year ABBA recorded a full album with their best songs entirely in Spanish
("Chiquitita" in Spanish is the biggest ABBA hit in My country Argentina)
This promotional video was in February 1979 in Swizterland
(ABBA goes for a TV Special)
It's the only promotional video that ABBA made without Sweden
I wish to see you soon in another reactions to ABBA songs
GOD bless you and stay safe
My best regards from
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Thanks for taking the time to write all this---we appreciate it! Very interesting!
Oh intresting. And good of ABBA to promote UNICEF
Other great songs that show off Frida’s voice… Knowing Me, Knowing You…. Money, Money, Money… Fernando… (all on the same great album, Arrival)
Chiquitita is ABBA’s most popular song in Latin America.
Fernando is by far ABBA’s most popular song in Australia (It spent most of 1976 in the top 10, and 14 weeks at No. 1… and is still Australia’s favourite pop song.)
I let the music speak, like an angel passing through my room and I wonder (departure) are all fantastic on that front too, although they are slower songs. Why does it have to me live in Australia and solo'd by frida is also great!
The songs mentioned are past of The Arrival, while Chiquitita is part of VOULEZ VOUS.
@@SMayedAli Yes, I did not mean to imply that Chiquitita was on Arrival. That’s why I used a different sentence and a different paragraph.
The guys were asking which songs showed off Frida’s voice, so I suggested three great songs from the same album - Arrival. I singled out Fernando, because I’m Australian. And just as Chiquitita is a favourite in South America, Fernando is a favourite in Australia.
I liked that when you said that some random dude passed in the background, outside your car some random dude passed in the background.
if you listen well to the background music, that is beethoven quality,so musical, nothings that repeats and always variation, realy incredible
I love your ABBA reactions! Enjoy the ABBA journey. It’s immense!
Thanks for watching---we appreciate it!
Some people still think it was filmed indoors in a mock up set. But No, it really was outside on the lower slopes of a Swiss mountain in the ski resort of Leysin. The 'dude' walking behind the snowman is actually a little kid who has obviously wandered into the shot. The Jackson Five also did a song next to that snowman for another TV Special filmed at the same time.
Great to see you enjoying yet another ABBA gem!
Check out "Take A Chance One Me" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You" for more ABBA bliss! 😃
Frida is a bonifide Princess...Princess Anni-Frid, Dowager Countess of Plauen
Love 99% of all Abba songs. They were hook songs for a reason. They caught your attention and were catchy "esp back in the 70's". Anni-Frid Lyngstad "red head" who accompanies Agnetha on harmonies are epic that go perfectly together. There is a whole spiel on which girl is main lead depending on the song and is decided by Bjorn and Benny " who by the way is a premier piano player". One suggestion Tyler, you should introduce your girl friend co-reactor at the start of each video. The polite thing to do :). Anyway I liked both of your reactions regarding what each of you thought it was that you liked best about the song. Good reaction guys!
Thanks for watching and we're glad you enjoyed it!
@@marissa6805 Thanks for sharing in your joy and discovery with us! All the quirky comments are fun too, I saw someone feeling the snowman comments was distracting, but it just seemed like fun to me. Hey and check out the comment about some of (Brunette) Frida's other stunning songs where she leads, and my reply below that with some more, She's also a fantastic singer when given a chance to show off!
And did you guys know the ever famous dancing queen is a song by ABBA? People would look forward to you finding that video for sure!
It's CHI-QUI-TI-TA. It's A Spanish word, meaning LITTLE CHILD. Also part of the ABBA'S contribution to the UNICEF, the year of the child in 1979. The royalty still goes to the UNICEF.
Agnetha does the introductory solo. Frida then joins in on the first verse and the rest.
Agnetha brings vulnerability and innocence in her vocals, Frida brings warmth and that familiar feeling in her vocals, both individually awesome but a gift from the heavens in harmony, I don’t think we’ll ever see a vocal match like it again!! (The sister band First Aid Kit come close, also Scandinavian).
Omg I LOVE First Aid Kit! I really want Tyler to react to them, but I don't know how much he would enjoy that style of music......maybe one day in the future though (whenever he let's me decide what we're reacting to lol)
@@marissa6805 First Aid Kit are awesome, you have good taste 🙌
Their best song, IMHO. A song of comfort, support, and hope.
Hey guys, glad you are watching the ABBA video's, but, it would be great to hear more analysis and less time spent on Santa Claus and background guys comments. It seems to be filler instead of discussing the music, harmonies and production. The blonde, Agnetha has lead vocals here and Frida harmonizes and yes, their harmonies are their unique trademark. Benny's sweeping piano skills are prominent. This song was also written for UNICEF for a "Gift of Song" concert with many other top acts for the time in January 1979. ALL proceeds from the song were donated, for life to UNICEF, which is quite admirable of ABBA. This Spanish oriented song was a HUGE hit in Latin American countries and it is pronounced Chic-ca-tee-ta, which means "Little girl" in the context of this song. Listen to the detailed lyrics - a wonderful story of hope and inspiration is revealed about "the sun is stealing the sky and shining above you" and - "try once more, like you did before, sing a new song, Chiquitita." I enjoy your reviews, but wish you'd focus on the songs and lyrics, harmonies and production. THAT would make the "reaction" more credible and enjoyable. 😃
We appreciate the feedback! Thank you!
These guys are young, they seeing stuff through differ eyes, especially seeing 70s production aesthetics, I'd never thought of snowman! I did notice Frida's fight with her hair!
I thought it was " the sun is still in the sky and shining above you", (not stealing the sky).
You should check out If it wasn't for the nights. It was considered for a single but opted for Chiquitita instead. One of my favorites.
Thank you for sharing your reaction ❤🇸🇪
Thanks for watching ❤
My favorite song ever. The song of my life. And IMO one of the most beautiful melodies ever created. Love ABBA.
Frida's an amazing singer!
Frida is my favorite is the mix of the better for the good charisma, originality, elegant, pretty face and beauty.
AGNETHA the voice that is "Angelic" (quote from Bjorn)
I think you guys should find yourself an agent ASAP. I am not sure you realize your potential with your charm, chemistry and insight. You are awsome. Your future looks bright.
Aw thank you so much! We appreciate you!
I always love in that video how Frida has to constantly brush her hair out from her face, as it is blown by the wind. You can she it is distracting & amusing her but she remains professional.
Greatness transcends generations! So much joy!
ABBA and UNICEF have a longstanding relationship. Since 1979, ABBA have supported UNICEF through royalties earned on their song Chiquitita, raising US $4.8 million to date. ABBA will donate royalty payments from Little Things to UNICEF for the next five years.
You two are so good and entertaining! it would not surprise me if you reach one million subscribers 😉😉 there are many millions in the ABBA family out there! Another of my favorites is "SOS" (a masterpiece.) Hugs from a Swedish ABBA fan!
Thank you so much! We love our fans!
6:26 The timing of the random dude in the background of the ABBA video at the same time as the random dude in the background in the background of this video is amazing.
You need to start discovering YEBBA, a rising artist of today. Start with her Tiny Desk concert. She is EPIC!
Thanks, Marissa! Thanks, Tyler! 🐣 Spanish-American actress, singer, comedian, and flamenco guitarist *Charo* (who I first noticed on THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW in 1973... and who I've seen perform thrice across the U.S... and spoke with briefly in Las Vegas) helped ABBA write the lyrics for "Chiquitita" and "Fernando". #TylerCreatesContent #TCCReacts #Chiquitita #ABBA
Loving the channel guys. Great to see the younger generation enjoying the genius of ABBA. They are my all time favourite group and I have tickets to see the ABBAtar show in London which is gonna be awesome!
If you get the chance please could you react to Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonamassa - Stone Cold. 👍
Glad you're liking the channel! We'll add your recommendation to our list!
You have tickets? I'm envious. Long way from Australia.
@@toby9999 I’m in the UK not Australia 😊
My first impression upon hearing this song on AM radio in the car, was the women's chorus had the spirit of "rustic yearning". It reminded me of the raw sound of tribal natives singing at the top of their lungs.
Nice reaction.
Congrats on breaking the 1k barrier
If you want to know what Frida can do as a singer your should react to Money Money Money, Knowig me, knowing you, Fernando, I have a dream or Souper trouper for example.
The piano (in this song) is a standout feature (IMO).
Please react to ABBA singing “The Way Old Friends Do” (live @ Wembley 1979).
Thanks guys. From ☘️
The piano playing reminds me of a carnival!
Thank You 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching!
@@marissa6805 Thanks for responding. I was trying to think of your name! Now I know. Obviously you are the one that keeps Tyler grounded. 😉
@@GetBackJoe1969 lol I try!
This great song, lead vocal Agnatha
AGNETHA! AGNETHA! AGNETHA!
Benny Andersson on piano: 🎹 "Intermezzo Nº 1", from their self-titled album from 1975.
Hahaha some random dude in the background in the video and at the same time a random dude walked passed your car in the background, hilarious loved it. Awesome Reaction guys and yes we are coming for you lol 😅😂🤣💖💯%...
Oh wow! 6:27 in your video you mention about a random dude in the background of ABBA:s video, then at the same time there is a random dude just behind your car!
Please react to Dancing Queen
for sure!
Chiquitita!
She's right ..Agnetha is particular strong ⚜️🌟🇸🇪⏰
Yeah this song shows Aggies vocal gymnastics , like other songs. Money Money Money is another great one to hear Ann-Frida’s vocals.
Of course the song is impeccable by ABBA standards. But the VIDEO is fun.
I was about to point out the famous random dude when you saw him. Frida has trouble keeping the hair out of her face from the wind machine!
Deixou marcas no mundo inteiro. As melhore de todos tempos jamais vocês verá duas igual. Aguineta e. Frida
The lead vocal is Agnetha Falstkog, not Anni Frida.
The mystery of the 70ties, who was that dude lol.
Nice choice guys! :)
Chiquitita means LITTLE GIRL !!!!
I'd like to introduce you the difference between: 1 chica = girl, 2 chiquita = little girl and 3 chiquitita = little little girl
Thanx ... And I thought Chiquita was Bananas :)
Now listen to don't shut me down and you can see it sounds like it came from the same era👍😍
♥
Try the version live at Wembley Arena
" take your teeth out, tell me what's wrong" 😫😫
Haha you need to check your ears Alexander 😂😂
So funny.. when you mentioned the random Dude, you actually got your own random Dude in the background... :D :D
A triumph ! .
Abba gives all the Rights of this song to Unicef.
You guys left some weird lyrics in front of the video. But you are awesome. ABBA IS WONDERFUL .
I love you both French kisses from France
Tesher x Jason Derulo - Jalebi Baby Song React
If Marisa would shuffel dance to ABBA it would be great.
good reaction, actually the so-called piano is Benny's custom harpsichord which gets its unique sound by plucking the strings rather than hitting them. Chiquitita is a Mexican generic term for a young girl, likely used the way we might say "sweetie" here...have a good day
Great song ( and reaction ) but that's agnetha on lead vocals!! 🤣
great reaction
Muito bom !!! Esta foi uma das canções do ABBA que mais tocaram no meu país. Tem até uma versão para o português, mas eu prefiro a original.
The girl looked a bit scared watching some guy outside the car
No banana here: correct Chiquitita (Spanish for little girl) not Chiquita (girl)
I have no idée what the snowman is doing there.😀
Listen to "move on"
All the media available to young folk today just reminds me of the cretin past in which I grew up. In the 50's and 60's it was AM radio and nothing else. I'm sure your grandparebts remind you. Cheers.
It’s Spanish for “Little Girl”
All the royalties from chiquitita and little things go too U.N.I.C.E.F....ALOT of £€$¥.
Chi qui ti ta, not Chikita :-)
Chiquita is a banana. 😀
React to Kate Bush wuthering heights...very different

It means little girl in Spanish

Not entirely convinced with a track from a car park & wording over the visual. Needs more respect.
Are they friends? Siblings?
I was in my 2nd year at Ricks College when, on January 9, 1979, ABBA performed this song for the very first time on the Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. I watched it on my 12 inch black and white TV.
