OP did a good job of stringing bits/pieces of movie together on the friction in their relationship. Long story short: Paul had to become what he was and lead the Fremen to victory. The Fremens days were numbered. I believe Paul was having visions of their sietches getting nuked. Feyd was starting down that path and the realization that the south WAS inhabited. They were gonna get hunted down and nuked. Also, think how well humanity would of fared with Emperor Feyd Harkonnen...yikes. So the war on Arrakis is over, Holy War/Jihad begins. Very unfortunate, but it ends up with humanity being lead to the golden path. Better this than humanity collapsing. Take away: Chani will come to understand, they will reunite. It'll be glorious.
Exactly. I think it’s also how the actors look and the vibes they give off? Paul looks like a princeling, elegant, refined yet rough around the edges, tough yet still innocent, boyish yet manly. Chani just doesn’t look like someone Paul would be into. She herself acts too tough, like a tomboy. I also think Zendaya’s acting just isn’t there. It’s like Chalamet gives his everything, whereas she’s just phoning it in? I don’t know, but I agree with you.

Heads of Powerful Houses used Concubines, they seem not to marry. We think Paul fell in love with Chani through those visions. Chani has lived in the desert her entire life and men like Paul were simply not to be trusted, so you see her skepticism. But they do fall in love. clearly Denis felt this love store was at core of the Movie. He ended the movie Z's angry, sad face.
They purposely made look this way but in real life Zendaya is a world-renowned model and appears on two covers of Vogue in the months of April plus will be co-chair of the Met Ball this year coming up exclamation point she is absolutely out of this world stunning and everything she models and puts together. If anything I think they should not muddy down her face so much because she is a natural beauty as well and it's very little makeup to be absolutely exquisite❤

The end of their love story was truly tragic and ngl I actually cried when Paul took the hand of the emperor's daughter and Chani left feeling crushed
