Fun fact: I don’t know in which dune but after this scene we see again in another vision the same shrine he’s talking about with painting of his father and his skull and fremen worshiping at his shrine.
The first film is my personal favourite, there is just something about it which makes me prefer it over the second even though its not as good haha. That's proof of how revolutionary this trilogy is becoming.
Part 1 was more personal, had more ambience, more focus, it barely had jokes, it was all a ride filled with breath taking music and scenes, Part 2 had some of it but it was focused more, had funny scenes and had scenes for everyone. I can't explain it well 😂 but you are right, i love part 1!
I watched part 1 before I read the first two books and this scene really stood out to me without knowing about what happens at all. Timothée Chalamet’s face going from intrigue and admiration to pure horror once it dawned on him that he was the cause of this was great.
I think a cool concept in Dune is the concept of “humanity”, Frank Herbert believed that the ability to think and act independently of our primal instincts “programming” is what makes us human. The gom jabbar test was done to gauge Paul’s humanity, but we see something distinctly different after he takes the water of life in part 2. To achieve great power, Paul and Jessica effectively have to give up some of their humanity. Paul becomes locked in to a future beyond his control and becomes something of a tragic figure. He’s got “divine” powers of foresight but is essentially a slave to his power. It’s a beautifully crafted narrative about the dangers of power and losing one’s way.
2:01 & 2:16 ...from what I've seen in the two movies...I believe these scenes are the only (possible) revealed moments from the yet to be released Messiah movie. 🤔🤔
So a lot of the things that happened in this vision happened in part two, including the fight scene, though interestingly enough it wasn't Paul but Chani who was fighting in real life. As for the scene in Caladan, I have a feeling the person besides Paul is not going to be Chani but Irulan in Dune Messiah. I love the way denis villeneuve shows Paul's visions somewhat inaccurate.

That scene already happened in part two except it was Chani. Just like the visions of Chani walking in the desert turned out to be Jessica. it said in the first movie that his visions aren't exactly accurate
@@tylergraham6662 I was bummed they didn't show up wearing the armor from this vision in their final battle in 2.
@@chays19751 simpliest solution is change of concept in the 2nd film. IMO they look way better in film two. More rustic, how would they be able to manufacture such armor, while being nomadic people on the desert. During 3rd film sure, but that remains to be seen, how they will portay fremen or rather what's left of them there.
This scene has the best cinematography in a duology that is already filled with exceptional shots.
The shot of the hovering ship over Caladan at 2:05 is one of my favs of both movies
This scene really got me hooked first time watching it. From the music to seeing the Fedaykin using the weirding way fight style.
3:14 I mean Rebecca Ferguson's acting there is just Oscar worthy! A mother that loves her son but is shocked at his sudden outburst of anger at her.
Hopefully we get to see the the scene of Paul and Chani on Caladan in Part 3!
Surely that can't happen now considering how Part 2 ended?
@@evooff Why wouldn’t it happen? Paul and Chani could reunite while the holy war is still happening.
Paul says "she'll come around, I've seen it" in Dune part two after he drinks the water of life@@evooff
@@captainamerica8217 he says “she will come to understand” which I didn’t take to mean she’ll come around. He had a vision of a future where chani dies so my guess is he made his choices so that she would live, even if it she ended up leaving him
@@evooff so you think He saw this vision and this is coming but it is Not coming ?
It is a vision. It will come. Thats what makes the ending so much more good of Part two. Because they will be together
I’m pretty sure this is a vision of Dune Messiah during the Holy Jihad against the Landsraad, after Chani returns to Paul no longer upset, which is a big change in her character from the book.
I believe this too, could even be that Chani is looking at someone else besides Paul. Could possibly be Leto II but who knows. I’m excited to see how they bridge the gap between part 2 and messiah but also how they handle the changes they made for the adaptions.
FINALLLY SOMEONE OFFICIALY UPLAODS THIS SCENE
Dune was a fantastic movie. Denis Villeneuve is such a great director! ❤️
Such a good scene. Great directing. A Spice vision from Paul. Such a pretty psychedelic desert movie. Really does do justice and pay homage to Lawrence of Arabia. You know what's wild, is I've watched this movie a few times and just seeing this scene, when Paul snaps, he taps into "the voice" when he says, "get off me." I did not notice that before.
I love every single second of Dune 2 and think it is overall the better movie (both are peak cinema) but something about this scene just keeps me coming back. The score, the acting, it’s just perfect
1:18 in Dune Part 2 this is in fact Chani not Paul. One of many possibilities in this vision.
1:04.
If you've seen part 2 already. Know that this part of his vision comes through for someone else.
chani
Important to once again highlight that Paul sees *a* future, not *the* future.
I don’t get it? why was it chani instead of Paul
Paul can’t really see the future, but predict multiple futures at once
Could also be the upcoming possible future given the golden amor that signify him being a emperor for quite some time going against the landsraad
1:25 the music started to get chills....
Lead them to paradise.
as the mahdi muadib says? i think i heard that in the books, trilogy.
It's when Paul attacks the Great Houses and starts the Jihad
@@CarlosAlexandre-vb4yb the event is named as " Paul muadibs jihad " I think your referring to that which happened when Paul attacked the great houses.
If these visions happen in part 3 it will be Absolute Cinema.
We’re gonna come back to this to say it aged well
Did you miss the part where most of these visions happened in part two?
@@xarachne8473 Not all. And it usually turns out differently. The one with Paul and Chani on a ship looking down from above didn't happen.
@@sevennom we assume that will be on planet Caladan after they leave Arrakis at the end of 2 some point in the future.
My number #1 favorite 🤩 scene from Dune part. The music alone is incredible and visually got me hooked
1:42 chani's shadow emerging like a worm, could this be a nod to a certain god emperor?
1:41 is such a perfect expression. A mix of sympathy for her son and look of “ooooh, so my experiment is actually working…😏”.
After Part Two this scene has whole new meaning
*YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!! IT WAS SAID THAT YOU WOULD BRING BALANCE TO THE GALAXY - NOT LEAVE IT IN **_DARKNESS_** !!*
With great power comes great responsibility
Anakin is Paul Atreides for kids😂
@@thecaptaindeadpool5098real
And that's why Dune resonates now. If you grew up and loved Star Wars as a kid, then you will love Dune as an adult. In the grander scheme, like Anakin, Paul and his son did bring balance to humanity. By the most horrible way possible.
Paul is not like anakin in anyway
Maybe I'm on a Dune high but one of the greatest scenes ever at least prior to Dune 2
For ppl who watched dune 2 this is a vision of the jihad note the golden armor and advanced weirding way to show Paul has been emperor awhile at this point
I got deja vu when watching that Chani fight scene in Dune Part Two lol, is it supposed to be not happen yet or more like alternate future where Paul is the one who fight?
@@naufalkhoiruzaqi954no its the future in part 3
@@naufalkhoiruzaqi954 it is a parallel yes a cool one too but it’s also a messiah foreshadow fs
@@remedysvulgar9592 your referring to the " paul muadib's jihad " from the books.
@@palavarooki6155if you watch dune 2, the scene is damn near one to one but it’s Chani. So makes me wonder if this was a possible future that isn’t happening
The music is 80% of the scene!! ❤🔥
It gave me goosebumps, even more so after seeing the second film.
Truly hits different after seeing Part 2. "The world made choices for us."
This is the possible future in which Jessica doesnt survive the desert or loses to Stilgar
This scene is true art fr i keep finding myself coming back to this exact scene in the movie every time everything about this is perfecttt
This scene is so Epic, especially after seeing part2...hits even stronger....that war scene and the score is so phenomenal.....that look down after victory is riveting!!
Same.
Part one has something Part two lacks. I can't quite explain it
with you on this, however part 2 made part 1 even better in my eyes.
@@greenwithevil6same with me
Second one lacks scenes like this... More scenes with crazy giant scale ships/machines/buildings...
yo you gotta agree that paul atreides using an all black fit always hits diff
3:16 this is where Jessica realizes she's creating a monster.
I watched part 1 before I read the first two books and this scene really stood out to me without knowing about what happens at all. Timothée Chalamet’s face going from intrigue and admiration to pure horror once it dawned on him that he was the cause of this was great.
Paul is the Eren Jeager of the dune universe
Paul 🤝 Eren
Anakin
More like Anakin AND Eren are the Paul's of their respective series. Dune came first you know.
@@andrewdevita629 I was just going to say. Eren is the Paul of AoT.
I wonder if we'll ever see Leto II's apocalyptic visions done in this style. I'd say they're arguably scarier.
“This edible ain’t shi…”
To think that he just lost his entire family and then has nothing but an inter-galactical genocide as his future.. "Somebody help me please..."
0:46 chani looks so otherworldly beautiful here, so warm & gentle. a stark contrast to what's happening behind her.
No wonder he had visions. His whole body was covered in spice and he was inhaling a bunch of it.
Yeah. Paul basically trips balls the entirety of the First book once he gets to Arrakis. But he can actually see the future.
"A warrior religion waiving the Atreides banner on my father's name". His father named Leto. Real ones know
When I saw this for the first time in theaters I thought I was about to take up the Atredies banner goodness lol
The greatest scene in both movies.
Absolute chills
After Part Two this rocks even more
After part 2 you know this was always inevitable
Not a Bene Gesserit's pet anymore. The Duke Paul Muad'dib Atreides
he sometimes calls himself the ketz hedeirach, however he mostly goes by muadib which is loosely arabic word.
holly war is coming! Bro part 2 made this scene even much better, amazing movie!
The Jihad was so inevitable, that it happens even if Paul has Chani and Jamis by his side.
After watching part 2 these visions hit hard
2:01 & 2:16 ...from what I've seen in the two movies...I believe these scenes are the only (possible) revealed moments from the yet to be released Messiah movie. 🤔🤔
The Caladan conquest vision is best seen as symbolic
My favorite scene from the whole movie
The most important scene of the first movie imho.
God bless Denis and Hans.
The name Atreus witch Atreides name is based on is defined as “Fearless”
Its also the name of two of the characters from the Iliad. Menelaus and Agammenon. The sons of Atrues.
The mono audio, are you kidding me? You’re a channel for a streaming service with over 75 million users, and you can’t upload a clip from a movie that uses stereo audio? From DUNE no less?
So Paul return to Calandan in Dune Messiah ?? like in the vision 2:08
the best scene from the first part
I now realize that when Chani says "Paul," it's actually Jessica trying to influence him. Whether or not it worked is up for debate.
What do you mean?
2:24 😢❤
"Fanatical legions worshipping at the shrine of my father's skull!"
40k Marine:..........~Go on~
Its wild comparing this Jessica who recoils and weeps when her son lashes out at her, as if her heart is breaking for him, to the Jessica in Part 2. Ferguson did a phenomenal job portraying the change in Jessica after the Water of Life awakens her mind. Its like two completely different characters.
This scene hits different after watching part 2!
I miss this Jessica, the motherly instinct Jessica, but she had to become something else for greater stakes
This basically is the single most important scene in the whole Dune Saga, wish Villeneuve added more weight to it
I think that’s the point. You feel like all the visions are only snippets, hallucinations, a mirage of some kind, only upon rewatching do you feel the actual impending sense of awe and doom as you realize it’s not a spice dream, *this is their future*
its really not
Starting to think this Paul guy might be bad news
Unfortunately against his will. Determinism
Same music was used for Dune part 2 speech scene, if you noticed.
Yes. This is the motif Hans Zimmer used to signify Paul's jihad in both movies and I love it.
My favourite scene. The first movie is the best of the two. It's more profound and deep, mysterious and chilling.
