The year is 20XX, the only legal map is 2fort, everyone plays soldier exclusively, and nobody even bothers to look at each other in favor of staring at the sky to avoid being headshot by the snipers they don’t know aren’t there. This is the meta valve truly wanted all along.
I hope everyone in 2fort casual maining Soldier does this now.

Being able to negate a headshot by looking up while retreating can be a game changer.
Well... not if there are 5 people on the battlefield and Sniper can deal bodyshots.

It seems we learnt different dark arts to avoid headshots, you see. What I do is I just flail my mouse all over my mousepad and it surprisingly works, movement is a little difficult but with enough gamer skill you can move without getting headshot.
So basically it's a manual "anti aim"

Oh, I don't even need to rocket jump to get to the enemy sniper balcony anymore, I can just do this.
Remember tho they need to be on the same level as you to not hit headshot
well uhh sorry to break it to you pal but you need to walk backwards and if the enemy sniper sees your back he can also headshot you
scout leans forward so much that just spinning around moves your head around a lot. Combined with wasd, you can move your head hitbox left and right at blistering speeds

Well not exactly… they can still be headshotted, even if they're pointed upwards and spinning on the spot. It doesn't protect them from being headshot, just more difficult to headshot because using other hacks that auto trigger when target player comes into view of their scope range.

I feel like the simplest solution for other classes is to just headbang and flail around. It doesn't cover your head, but depending on how erratic you can be it makes your probability of getting headshot negligible.
I think this method was developed with combating spinbots in mind tho.

what's funny is this actually has some practical use to run past sniper lines as soldier
You can also try shooting the snipers, as that shakes their aim up and makes them miss. The best one to do this is with pyro or heavy(at close range).

However it works both ways. Using soldier, you can resist being headshot by these malicious bots!
You give up mobility and seeing where you're going but still cool mechanic. I can see this being used when escaping to spawn only when you're near it, or when you're pushing the payload.

I know a few tricks, if you shoot then jump on an object and scope as you land, it will remove headshot delay for that shot.
1:40 so that's why spin bots always look straight up.

Some taunts (Scout's Square Dance intro, Balloonabouncer, Demo's Yeti Punch, Scooty Scoot) can actually change the location of the head hitbox completely. So bad that it is required to shoot the belly for a headshot.
His rocket launcher is already unrealistic so this doesn't change the realism about this game much

It's part of TF2's lore actually. They fight so illogically that their enemies and superiors consider them to be extremely dangerous. As the Administrator puts it, they're as lethal as "plutonium" which doesn't need a lot of brains to kill a person. The mercs have faced so many intentionally unrealistic shit (whether it be dark magic or 20th century comic book science-fiction) that it can scar one's sanity but to them it's just another day in the job.

I like how this is a legitimate tactic, yet everyone is too serious/not serious enough to actually use it in a match.
The Bunnyhopper taunt is another excellent way to fuck with Snipers. I recommend trying it sometime; just bounce around in an inconsistently snaking path, randomly back up sometimes, do tricks at the peak of a jump to fuck up the timing, and watch the snipers whiff.
Fists of steel actually anti-headshot meta for heavy, since they both reduce damage and cover your head more than normal fists. Peacemaker even made a video on it.

counter: if you use machina, the shot penetrates chest/hand/weapon and does (based on quickscope) 50 for bodyshot and another 150 for the headshot, being able to instakill soldiers
